While I originally came to the U.S. in 2015 for a Master’s in International Business, I discovered my true passion for documenting life’s most special moments. My grandpa was always filming every family interaction and had a 500 title dvd collection, so that left a big impression on me. I was the kid who grouped up my friends and coordinated lightsaber battles in the front yard; later editing in FX frame by frame. While in film school I used to film in dance clubs, making music videos of clubbers having a good time. This helped develop my style and created the foundation of what I do today! Apart from filmmaking, I enjoy a good jam sesh, playing chess, and surfing :)

All started when I got one of my first cameras over 10 years ago, and began filming my daughter's life from birth all the way until she was 7 years old. When I edited all of the short clips together to create a film capturing her first seven years of life, my passion for crafting memories and telling stories through video began.

Hi! I’m Ashley Marinelli, a professional dancer who originally started making films after performing in movies and music videos. My father always encouraged me to pursue my passion for film, and when he passed in 2014, I started Marinelli Moving Pictures, a video production company with his name (and mine) on the masthead. A decade later, what started as a side jobs between dance gigs has turned into a full fledged business. Turns out I'm even happier behind the camera than in front of it!
