About MC Productions Photography and Video

MC Productions Photography and Video is a husband-and-wife wedding photography and cinematography studio in Roselle Park, New Jersey, serving New Jersey, New York City, and destination weddings since 2003. I'm Ivone, and alongside my husband Mario, we've spent more than twenty years doing what we love. There's nothing like weddings — the emotions, the feelings behind them. All that we do in life revolves around family and love, from the meals we cook to how we spend our time. Weddings are an extension of that. So many stories told, so many unplanned moments, all coming from a place of love. That's where we draw our inspiration. We work with a team of videographers, drone operators, and editors throughout NJ, NYC, and destinations.

Video adds what photographs can't hold. Your vows in your own voice, the song that played, your father's toast the way he actually said it. We record professional audio on the ceremony and speeches, because a wedding film without clean sound is only half the memory. Photo and video run as one team, not two vendors negotiating over the same three minutes of first dance. One voice leads you through the day. You get a highlight film to share and a full-length movie to sit down with years from now, and you review both before they're final.

    MC productions was amazing for our wedding! To be totally honest, I didn't have a "vision" for my photos. I just wanted them to look natural and pretty. Jose was our photographer and he was INCREDIBLE. I've never been more excited to see photos. He showed us some on this camera as he was taking them and man is he talented. Yes, and we'd rather you ask. A highlight reel is three minutes chosen from twelve hours, which tells you we can edit but not that we can tell a story. Our full films run 30 to 90 minutes and include the whole ceremony and extended getting-ready coverage. Ask us and we'll send a complete one, ideally from a wedding similar to yours in venue or size. If your celebration includes cultural traditions, ask for a film that has them so you can see how we handle them.
Your full film typically takes 9 to 15 weeks depending on the season, with summer and fall running longer. Your highlight film comes first. Everything is delivered on a customized page where you review it and tell us if anything needs changing before it's final. You're not receiving a finished product you had no say in. We'd rather take an extra week and have you love it than rush something you'll be living with for the rest of your life.
This is the part couples underestimate, and it's the difference between a film you watch once and one you return to. A wedding film without clean sound is only half the memory. We use wireless microphones during the ceremony and the speeches, so your vows are your actual voices rather than a camera picking up a room. We record professional audio on the toasts too, which is usually where the moment nobody expected happens. Your officiant, your father, your best friend, all of it clear enough to hear years from now.
They're the same team. This is the question couples are told to ask videographers, because when photo and video come from different companies the two of you get pulled in opposite directions during portraits while they negotiate over the same three minutes of first dance. Here, one voice leads you through the day. We plan a single timeline, we know where each other will be standing, and neither team is fighting the other for position. Most of our couples book both for exactly this reason.
We carry duplicate camera bodies, lenses, audio recorders, and lighting on every wedding, and our cameras record to two cards at once so footage exists in two places from the moment it's shot. Nothing lives on a single card or a single drive. After the wedding your footage is backed up in multiple locations before editing begins. In more than twenty years we have never lost a wedding to equipment, and the reason is redundancy rather than luck.
Documentary at heart, with cinematic finish. We watch for the moment rather than staging it, and we direct enough that nobody is left standing there wondering what to do with their hands. Then we edit with the pacing and polish of a film. Your highlight is built to feel like a story rather than a montage of clips set to a song. We use drone coverage where the venue allows it. The moments couples come back to years later are usually the ones they never saw happen.
Yes. We're based in New Jersey and we travel. We've filmed in Italy, throughout South America, and across the United States. Destination coverage works a little differently, since travel and lodging factor in and we often arrive a day early to scout light and locations. Tell us where you're celebrating and we'll send you films from weddings closest to it, along with what the travel would look like. We work in English and Spanish, which helps abroad more than you'd expect.
Most of our couples book about a year out, and popular Saturdays in the fall book earlier than that. That said, reach out whatever your timeline is. We can cover up to two events a day, so we have more availability than a solo videographer would, and we've filmed weddings booked with only a few months' notice. The worst outcome is assuming we're unavailable and not asking.
Our own editors, in-house. We don't outsource editing, which matters more than it sounds, because an editor who has never met you and isn't accountable to us is making decisions about your day. Ours work from notes taken at your wedding by the people who filmed it. And you review both your highlight and your full film before they're final. If a moment matters to you and we missed its importance, tell us and we'll change it.
For a day of seven hours or more we'd recommend two. One videographer means choosing between the ceremony from the aisle and the ceremony from the back, or between your reaction and your partner's. Two means both, and it makes the edit substantially better since your editor has angles to cut between. For shorter days or smaller weddings, one is often plenty. Tell us your timeline and we'll tell you honestly which you need, including when you don't need the upgrade.
Yes. We carry full liability insurance and have since we opened in 2003. Most New Jersey venues require a certificate of insurance from your vendors, and many venues we work with regularly already have ours on file. Just tell us who your venue is and we'll send the certificate directly to them, well ahead of your date, so it's one less thing on your list.
Yes, for an additional fee. One of your videographers works with an editor on site through the day, cutting getting ready, the ceremony, your photo session, and the first dance. By cake cutting your highlight is ready to play for your guests. Watching a room see your ceremony again a few hours after it happened is genuinely something. You keep a copy in a video book to take with you at the end of the night, and when you book photo and video together the same-day edit is half off.
