She invited me to see her DJ a set and she was dancing and singing with everyone. We knew she would be perfect. She is very communicative and played music that got all ages on the dance floor. She plays all genres and you can tell she really loves each event she is a part of. I had multiple guests come up and tell me how much they enjoyed her DJ'ing. With her services, lighting can be included as well as a wonderful pink photobooth. She also has vintage photography (see below for a black and white photo from her) and videography services available. She even saved the day and had a microphone for us to use during our ceremony when we found out we did not have one. At the end of the event, we felt like we were saying goodbye to a friend we had known for a long time!”

“We worked with Paul for our January wedding. Originally, I was going to just create a playlist (I was having little to no formalities) until I saw he commented on a Connecticut Bride Facebook Group. Figured a DJ will give me one less thing to worry about, so I inquired and he immediately responded, provided a quick quote, and we set up our first meeting. He just made everything so easy! We had two one-hour long meetings to clearly identify our vision. My father passed a few years ago and we did many things to honor him at the party- signature cocktail, my sister spoke about him in her speech, his two best friends gave a combined toast on his behalf, but what made me really feel my dad was celebrated and “there in spirit” was when Paul intentionally played my dad’s favorite song prior to the first speech. It almost felt like that was my dad’s speech/toast to us. Family and friends picked up on Paul’s placement of my dad’s favorite song and commented that they were moved by it too. It was the only point of the night I got emotional. Paul really cares about his work and the people he works with. I’ve been to a handful of weddings where DJs play the couple’s Do Not playlist and just treats every wedding the same. I seriously can’t recommend Paul more.”

Based in New York City, The Hook Club is one of the tri-state area's most exciting and unique wedding bands. Owned and operated by a tight-knit community of musicians, they are known for their attention to every musical detail and the professionalism they bring to every event. Their unconventional group has mastered the art of creating a great dance party that keeps guests on the dance floor all night and then humming the songs the next day!

“We absolutely loved working with The Hook Club. Our amazing planner, Greenhouse Events, recommended THC, and we were sold immediately after meeting with Dan. He is super relaxed, nice, and so knowledgable. Dan and THC team made planning super easy for us. They took time to hear about our hopes and helped recommend different band sizes for us. We hadn’t heard of a DJ band before, but loved the idea of some live music with the versatility to play all sorts of music, but our venue wasn’t very big and we also didn’t want to break the bank and hire a huge band. We chose the 4 piece DJ band with singer, sax, drums, and DJ. We knew we LOVED the sax, so we also had the sax play for cocktail hour (shout out to Elijah, who was amazing), and it was one of the best parts of the night. For planning music, they sent out a very detailed and thorough spreadsheet with more songs than one could imagine, and we could rate ones we liked the most, choose ones we definitely wanted or didn't, and choose specific songs for important moments. We met a couple times to review music choices as well. One of our biggest fears with a DJ was that they'd talk too much and be a little annoying, but Dan did a great job as MC, and was very low-key like we asked but announced important moments clearly. Dan and all the musicians had such great energy and got everyone on the dance floor. Our vocalist, Christen, was also amazing — her voice was spectacular, and she was such an amazing performer and got everyone involved in the music and dancing. So many people told us how much they loved the music and the energy, and had never heard of a DJ band but thought it was an amazing concept and the addition of live music over tracks added extra excitement and fun. THC also helped out with lighting (uplights and dance lights), and worked with our fantastic planner and the venue to help us decide the best setup. Ultimately, we loved working with THC. Their DJ-band setup is unique and adds so much variety to your music while allowing for some of the energy that comes from live performers. We danced the night away and had an absolute blast. 100% would recommend THC to anyone!”

“Tommy was super friendly and communicative. The vibes were great and he kept the dance floor busy! Our only complaint would be that we provided a sample play list to show what we were looking for with about 85% 2000’s rap/r&b and none of it was played until the last 30 minutes of the night when my husband had to go up and specifically say to play it. But it was still a great time!”
