“The Riverview was the most amazing wedding venue we could have ever dreamt of! We highly recommend this place to every couple looking for the perfect venue for their big day and here’s why: • PRICING was SO reasonable, the packages you get for the price you pay is truly unbeatable. You get an open bar, a multi course meal (served or buffet style - we opted for served), a FOUR tiered cake, butler passed hors d’oeuvres, and SO MUCH MORE. We had a guest list of 200 people attending our wedding and this venue made our dream wedding not only a possibility, but a lavish reality without forcing us to spend our whole life savings! • SERVICE was absolutely impeccable. From the minute we set foot into the venue till we walked out as husband and wife, we were treated like royalty every step of the way. Not only did they pamper us as the bride and groom but they ensured that every single family member, our whole bridal party, and each individual guest had every single thing we could’ve ever asked for or needed on our big day. KAYLA, MEGHAN, the coordination team, the bridal attendants, the bartenders, and the whole staff ensured that our wedding played out without a hitch. When my husband’s suit tore right before the ceremony, MEGHAN was on deck with a sewing kit within seconds to save the day. No detail was forgotten and KAYLA and her team made sure any last minute details and requests were delivered to a T. We always felt nothing but cared for and like the whole world revolved around us. Our multicultural ceremonies flowed seamlessly (which is so hard to do with numerous Indian ceremonies and American ceremonies on the same day). The staff was educated and so respectful for our traditions. • FOOD - where do I even begin with the food? The Chef knows what he’s doing. Every appetizer, hors d’oeuvre, entree, side, pastry, and bite was made with love and careful precision. The chef was so thoughtful and curated a menu of not only delicious timeless wedding staples, but he sprinkled in the most delightful Indian dishes to appeal to every taste (and dietary restriction) in attendance. Numerous guests commented on how every dish served was a hit. • THE DRINKS were flowing all night. From welcome drinks to the open bar, we told our guests to come thirsty and the venue DELIVERED. The BARTENDERS were so skilled and they made sure each (puppy themed) signature drink they served represented the love we have for our 2 sweet boys in addition to every drink they concocted throughout the night. • THE VIEWS were unparalleled. With the Farmington River as the ultimate backdrop, the venue made our early spring wedding look like a fairytale. We had nothing but positive feedback from our guests regarding the beautiful venue. In summary, we have nothing but high praise for this venue and our big day would not have been as perfect without the Riverview or their trusted vendor recommendations!”

“The Barns at Wesleyan Hills was an exceptional wedding venue that exceeded our expectations. Their communication throughout the 4-year planning process was always quick, helpful, and informative, which made the entire experience seamless. The quality of their work and overall value was truly remarkable - the venue was beautifully decorated in a dark, romantic style that was well worth the investment. Our day-of coordinator, Sean, was wonderful and so helpful in ensuring we were taken care of on our special day. The only slight downside was that Sean wasn't involved in the full 4-year planning process, so he didn't have the complete picture of our vision. Overall, we highly recommend The Barns at Wesleyan Hills for any couple looking for a rustic, romantic wedding venue with a fantastic team to support them.”

“The Salem Herbfarm is a true hidden gem! The owner, Elizabeth, is such a delight to work with. From our initial tour to our wedding day (and even beyond!), she made us feel right at home. The grounds are absolutely breathtaking. You get to choose between three ceremony sites, and each one is so beautiful that picking just one was a challenge! Handcrafted wooden farm tables and chairs are included, which added such a gorgeous touch to the space. After our ceremony, guests transitioned seamlessly into cocktail hour throughout the property. The central "booze hut" was a huge hit for drinks, and the sailcloth tent gave everyone plenty of room to mingle. We chose to hold dinner in the greenhouse, which felt intimate yet spacious, and moved into the barn for dessert and dancing. The barn was wonderfully air-conditioned—a total lifesaver for our hot August wedding! For guests who wanted a break from dancing, Elizabeth set up cozy indoor seating, and the outdoor fire pits were lit for relaxing under the stars. We also hired Elizabeth as our Day-of Coordinator, and she and her son completely exceeded our expectations. Our planning meetings were so helpful (and also so much fun!). They made the entire day run flawlessly, handling everything from setup and cleanup to timing every transition. Elizabeth even provides access to her own decor she has collected to help bring your vision to life. Beyond how stunning the property is, Elizabeth and her family are incredible people who truly care. South Farms' features a premier farmland destination in Litchfield County and our award-winning events venue, The White Barn at South Farms Conveniently located between NYC and Boston in the Litchfield Hills of Connecticut, The White Barn at South Farms is a state-of-the-art events venue creatively constructed within the iconic Sam Paletsky Barn. “We had our wedding at South Farms on the most beautiful day in August 2025 (August 23rd), and we could not have asked for a more seamless, enjoyable, and memorable experience. From start to finish, everything felt effortless thanks to the incredible staff—especially our planner, Sam Blick. Her expertise, attention to detail, and excellent communication made the entire process so easy for us. Sam and the team went above and beyond to bring our vision to life. They supported us with décor decisions, room layout, and the day-of flow, and even made the week leading up to the wedding stress-free by letting us drop off décor items early. In fact, Sam even started unboxing and decorating for us the day before (well outside of her job description!), which was such a kind and thoughtful surprise. They even hosted a “decor trial,” allowing us to mock up flowers, tablescapes, and other details in advance—which was a huge help in visualizing the day. And then there’s the venue itself—absolutely stunning. Our guests (and us!) were in awe of the rolling hills, the wildflowers in bloom, and of course, the iconic White Barn, which truly feels like a centerpiece on its own. The setting gave us the perfect mix of elevated elegance and intimate charm—we didn’t need to add much to make the day feel beautiful and special. We also have to talk about the food. This is not your typical “wedding food.” The executive chef is unbelievably talented and flexible, serving dishes that highlight thoughtful, locally sourced ingredients. It felt like dining at a true farm-to-table restaurant. Weeks later, we’re still getting texts from guests raving about the lobster rolls and filet mignon! We’ve been to weddings where the food was cold or forgettable—South Farms was the complete opposite. Yes, the price point is higher, but if food is important to you, it’s absolutely worth it. We left feeling confident that we got every bit of value out of our investment. We are so grateful we chose South Farms as our wedding venue. It gave us the most perfect day, and we cannot wait to come back for their socials and events to relive memories of our favorite day at our favorite place.”

“We recently had our wedding at Water’s Edge Resort and Spa, and overall, it was a beautiful and memorable day. The setting is absolutely stunning, with a gorgeous waterfront backdrop that sets the tone for a romantic, coastal celebration. The Venue: The venue itself is the real star. The ceremony space overlooking the water is breathtaking, and our guests were wowed. The Royal Ballroom was elegant and clean, though it felt a bit tight for our 200-person guest count and had a small dance floor. The staff did a great job setting up. One of the biggest positives was their effort to keep our ceremony outside despite some tricky weather. Plan B changed multiple times throughout the day, but they were flexible and made a call two hours before—allowing us to have a lovely outdoor ceremony on the patio. The Coordination Team: This is where things fell short. The onsite wedding coordinators did their jobs but offered little more. They operate within a narrow set of rules, and most non-standard requests were met with a “no.” If you want anything custom, you’ll need to go to the head of sales. We strongly recommend hiring an independent wedding planner. The coordinators are not substitutes for a full-service planner and do not assist with day-of timelines. Don’t expect personalized guidance—you’ll need to advocate for yourself throughout. Tasting & Food: The tasting experience was one of the low points. The food was poorly executed, and it left us anxious. That said, the kitchen completely redeemed itself on the big day. The wedding food was delicious, well-presented, and received many compliments from our guests. We’re grateful they delivered when it mattered most. Pricing & Contracts: Expect extra charges for nearly everything. Review your contract closely—Water’s Edge adheres strictly to what’s written, even when verbal communication during planning differs. This added stress and confusion. Their team is extremely contract-focused, so nothing should be assumed unless it’s clearly in writing. Hotel & Room Block: The hotel is beautiful but expensive. Managing the room block was more difficult than anticipated, and we were quoted one rate, but our final contract reflected another. This required a lot of back-and-forth to sort out and added unnecessary friction to the planning process. Final Thoughts: Despite the challenges, we had a truly wonderful wedding day. The venue was stunning, our guests had an amazing time, and everything ran smoothly thanks to their structured operation. Water’s Edge is definitely a “wedding factory”—they’re efficient, but not especially flexible or tailored. If you go in with clear expectations, a strong outside planner, and a willingness to advocate for what you want, you can absolutely have the wedding of your dreams here. We’re grateful for the memories and happy with how everything turned out in the end.”
