Mill 1 Event Space is a venue in a gorgeous 19th-century mill, turned stunning, finished venue. Walk on finished hardwood floors and look up at long-leaf pine beams that were all original in 1848. This ceremony space is set on the 4th floor of Mill 4's remodeled mix use space. It can seat up to 150 guests with up to 100 more standing room only guests. Private bathrooms and the groomsman suite are also located on this floor!

    No call/No showed

    Completely unprofessional and unreliable! No call/no showed when we had a confirmed booking. Run away! We had scheduled and confirmed a tour of Mill 1 with Adrianna. We arrived at the agreed time and no one was there. After frantically calling/emailing, walking around empty offices, and talking with the adjacent salon staff to try to contact Adriana for a WHOLE HOUR she finally answered saying she was “sick.” She had no excuse for failing to even communicate that no one would be there or leaving us hanging after traveling 2 hours to make the appointment. We were crushed and horribly upset with such poor treatment. We were so excited to start our wedding planning process, but I would recommend going literally anywhere else. I would hate for anyone else be stood up when Adrianna decides to be “sick” again.

    Couldn't have chosen a better venue.

    Since our first steps inside Mill 1, I personally fell in love & immediately knew that this would be our place. The rustic, industrial charm speaks for itself! Fast forward through planning, everything was made pretty easy, questions were always answered promptly, & communication was always clear. It was made known from day one that, if I wanted it - I would have it! And believe me Adrianna and Will made sure that was the case through it all. Day of setting up, I didn't even have to lift a finger & everything looked more perfect than I could have ever imagined. Mill 4 ceremony space, decorated equally as beautiful & a ceremony made so seamless thanks to Adrianna & wills guidance! And reception - I couldn't have asked for a better party! Food by Seth Mias was delicious! Drinks by bar staff were absolutely PERFECT. Adrianna and Will were always a step away to help with whatever we needed, even down to being a bouncer for unwelcome guests! I am grateful we chose mill 1 and will continue to choose mill 1 for any upcoming events we might host! It was such a pleasure planning, working & partying with them! Thank you again Adrianna & Will!

    Definitely the place to choose!

    Mill 1 felt like the right place from the moment we walked in for a tour. It is such a unique, industrial but romantic space. It has flexibility for style and layout, it was a no brainer for us. The management that existed when we first booked with them was pretty horrible to be honest, but I only mention that fact at all because the crew that took over a few months ago has been so incredible they turned that experience around drastically. Adrianna was a God send, an absolute angel and made our wedding a million times better than it would have been if it weren't for her. She supported me through our rehearsal and decoration setup, she was always very responsive to emails and calls, and then on wedding day she helped make everything seamless! On our wedding night my husband and I looked around and just felt so grateful at how beautiful everything came out, it was all better than we imagined. I can't forget to mention the bar staff! They were also incredibly accommodating and helpful before the event and throughout the whole night. We were so lucky to have such a great experience, thank you Mill 1!

    Amazing venue

    I absolutely loved working with Emily and Adrianna at Mill 1. The venue was gorgeous and the day went by perfectly. I’m so happy we chose to hold our wedding here!

Prior to your event, Mill 1 Event Coordinators will work with you to create a detailed floor plan, seating plan, arrange for your beverage needs, ensure your vendors have directions and know where to park, etc.
The day of your event, Mill 1 staff sets up table and chairs, welcomes your vendors, address any needs you have related to the space and coordinates the flow of the event. Event Coordinators do not decorate.
Yes if pre approved with your Event Manager and our schedule allows
Your caterer will put linens on the tables and set the tables. Your florist (if applicable) will place centerpieces and other floral details. Mill 1 staff will place tables/chairs/lights/furniture.
Additional consecutive hours to decorate are available for $100 per hour with a $100 minimum. You must ask for any additional time—beyond the contractual 3 hours—in writing 30 days or more before your event so Mill 1 has time to send an invoice and schedule staff.
We can special order any chairs you’d like, but the black chairs in Mill 1 are included in your Mill 1 rental and white folding chairs are included in a Mill 4 Ceremony space rental. Ask your Event Coordinator about renting special chairs if you’re interested.
For a conference with classroom style seating, 300. For a private event, 200 with a dance floor and 250 without a dance floor.
We host one event per day. Days are reserved on a first come, first served basis via. Once you have picked a date, paid a 25% deposit, on the room rental and signed the contract. Its time for the fun part.... PLANNING your special event!
Being in the heart of New England, the autumn is naturally our most beautiful and popular time of year. But our , our Peak Season is extended due to our gorgeous indoor event venue. Peak includes the months of May-November
Yes, we have a large property and plenty of space for parking! Parking is always free - the main lot in front of Mill 1 can hold about 100 vehicles, and the secondary lot behind Mill 1 (where we have our handicapped accessible ramp) can fit about 20 vehicles. Then we have a very large secondary lot that can hold more vehicles than we can count!
Yes, all of our facilities are wheelchair accessible! We have ramps at the main entrance to Mill 4 (ceremony) and back entrance to Mill 1 (Reception), hearing-impaired fire alarm lights, wheelchair-friendly restrooms, and trained staff that will be sure everyone can get where they need to go safely.
In the case of any cancellation, all booking fees and payments made to date, including security deposits, are non-refundable. However, we are in new times that have raised many questions regarding postponements, so we have added a policy to our contracts that allows us to work together with couples to find a new date in the event of uncontrollable circumstances, with no change fee.
Our building is located between 3 major airports (the benefit of being between Boston and NYC). The closest airport is Bradley Airport (BDL) in New Haven, CT which is 25 miles from Mill 1. We are also less than 2 hours driving from Boston Logan Airport and about 3 hours from JFK and LaGuardia Airports in New York.
