About this venue
The Inn on Boltwood offers an extraordinary collection of fully customizable wedding experiences. From the luxurious ballroom or picturesque garden tent, to the more intimate rooftop terrace, couples will discover a truly personalized New England weekend wedding destination. No matter the time of day or the size of the party, Inn on Boltwood is eager to assist you in planning a memorable occasion. We’ve had the honor of hosting intimate elopements with less than ten people to grand affairs with 180 guests.
Our event spaces
Dickinson Ballroom
The largest of our indoor spaces, the Dickinson Ballroom is adjacent to the garden patio, a perfect spot for ceremonies or cocktail hours. The ballroom boasts high ceilings, brass chandeliers, and ample natural light and views of Amherst College. The pre-function area is tastefully furnished to reflect our historic charm. The divisible space of the Dickinson Ballroom can be transformed into two smaller rooms: on the west side is the Samuel Fowler and on the east side is the Emily. These spaces are ideal for smaller weddings, elopements, rehearsal dinners, or post-wedding brunches.
Garden Tent
Overlooking the Frost Gardens and the Amherst College campus, the outdoor Garden Tent offers the utmost in design flexibility. When walking into the Garden Tent, your eyes immediately go up to the gorgeous fabric draping and elegant chandeliers that line the ceiling. Brick flooring and retractable sides help to make this space comfortable for guests. The Garden Tent is available for events from April through October.
Webster Ballroom
A refined and smart looking space, the Webster Ballroom provides a more intimate experience with extensive crown moldings and fresh, crisp colors. Custom designed chandeliers and traditional wall sconces further provide an inviting ambiance.
Amherst Boardroom
Conveniently located off the lobby, the Amherst Boardroom can accommodate twelve guests at a large mahogany table at the center of the room. This is the ideal space for a small group of your loved ones for an intimate celebration of your love.
Rooftop Terrace
The Rooftop Terrace is a unique and comfortable space for a ceremony, cocktail hour, rehearsal dinner, or even a post-wedding brunch. With sweeping views of the Amherst College grounds, you’ll be up close with our rooftop garden as you snuggle up in front of our signature fireplace.
Greenhouse Room
Adjacent to the Rooftop Terrace and directly off of the 30Boltwood dining room is our Greenhouse. Our exclusive space with large windows and a retractable skylight gives this room an abundance of natural lighting. This room is also attached to our Wine Room which features plush seating, a historic exposed interior brick wall, and a chic yet cozy ambiance.

Couldn’t be more helpful!
The entire team at the Inn on Boltwood was helpful and accommodating from the start! We asked about a million questions, and we were always given prompt, thorough and well explained feedback. One of the big selling points for us was the service, and the flexibility of the setting. It ended up raining on our wedding day, but we were easily able to move the outdoor parts inside the air conditioned ballroom, and we still had a fantastic time in the tent. They also have plenty of gorgeous spaces for photos and getting ready, which meant we still got plenty of beautiful pictures! The front of the building, the restaurant, library, rooftop, as well as the wedding spaces are all gorgeous. Many of our friends and family stayed the weekend and it was the perfect place to celebrate. We cannot say enough good things about Catherine, Maddy and Tom who took great care of us and could not have been more helpful. We could not recommend the Inn on Boltwood more!

The Perfect New England Inn for a Wedding
If you’re looking for classic New England inn charm that feels like a cross between a Nancy Meyers movie and Gilmore Girls, look no further. When we first started wedding planning, the sheer volume of decisions—from transportation to catering—felt completely overwhelming. The Inn on Boltwood made our lives so much easier; they truly are the perfect venue. We loved that the Inn is essentially an all-inclusive venue. Between the on-site catering, rehearsal space, coordination support, and the ability to stay at the property, it eliminated the stress of managing a dozen different vendors and travel logistics. From our very first viewing, we knew it was the place for us. Our wedding coordinator, Catherine, could not have been a better human to work with. She never faltered; she is kind, creative, and a true expert at running a wedding. The food was UNREAL. Our guests are still raving about it, and the variety was fantastic. As a vegetarian bride, it was such a relief to have high-quality, delicious meal options rather than feeling like an afterthought pulled from the freezer. We hosted our rehearsal dinner on the rooftop terrace, which provided a beautiful, elevated backdrop for our family to kick off the weekend. We also loved that the Inn offers great hybrid solutions for weather. While we were fortunate enough to have a perfect day for an outdoor ceremony and tented reception, it gave us such peace of mind knowing there were seamless indoor options available if it had rained or become too hot. The Inn also gives full access for photos, and there are so many stunning locations for picture-perfect moments throughout the property! The space feels so intimate that it felt like we were hosting the wedding at our own home. Beyond the venue itself, the location in Amherst gave our guests wonderful opportunities to explore—the Saturday morning farmers market was a massive hit! With other hotel options just five minutes away and plenty of parking, it was incredibly convenient for everyone.

Amazing Hospitality and Professional Planning
Our wedding day at the Inn on Boltwood was an amazing experience! We cannot praise the staff enough. Catherine and Maddie were extremely helpful, responsive, and organized throughout the whole wedding planning process, which took a year. They clearly know what they’re doing and their worksheets and check-ins helped us feel on-track without having a “cookie-cutter” wedding. The food is excellent, and guests have given us a lot of positive feedback (the ravioli in particular was a hit). We customized a few dishes on the menu to include more Vietnamese options, and the Chef knocked it out of the park. On the day of the wedding, the staff were so proactive. When it started drizzling during our cocktail hour, we came back from taking pictures to find all of our guests and decorations dry under the tent, and everything was set up beautifully. I would recommend this venue without hesitation to anyone looking to get married in Western Massachusetts — the pricing is transparent, the venue has multiple beautiful spots for pictures, the location is charming, and our guests had a wonderful time.

New England Hidden Gem!
It is hard to put into words just how perfect our choice of venue was for our June 6, 2026 wedding. The Inn on Boltwood is a beautiful property with an equally wonderful team behind its events. The wedding team, led by Catherine, gave us a flawless wedding day that fully captured our personal vision. From last-minute adjustments to nearly two years of planning, the team was friendly, professional, dedicated, and easy to work with every step of the way. We had a beautiful garden ceremony, a lawn cocktail hour, a magical evening under the tent, and Friday night welcome drinks. Throughout the weekend, the team made everything feel effortless. Decor was seamlessly moved from location to location, umbrellas appeared at the tent entrance during a brief rain shower, and food and beverages seemed to magically appear exactly when needed as the bride and groom. In addition to our welcome drinks and wedding celebration, many members of our wedding party and guests stayed onsite at the inn. Everyone had a wonderful experience and appreciated the convenience of being able to walk directly to and from the events. This was especially valuable for our grandparents, who could come and go comfortably as they pleased. For anyone looking for a flawless wedding in a gorgeous setting that is easily accessible for guests traveling from surrounding states or flying in, we highly recommend the Inn on Boltwood and its incredible team. And finally... the food! From the appetizers and getting-ready platters to the wedding dinner itself, I have never attended a wedding where the food was such a standout. The level of care that went into every dish, even for a large guest count, was remarkable. The freshness, quality, presentation, and flavor were truly exceptional.

The team at Inn on Boltwood is next level. From the very beginning, they brought a level of professionalism and joy that made our whole wedding planning experience unforgettable and seamless. More specifically, Catherine and her team were so wonderful to work with. They answered SO MANY of our emails with patience and kindness even before we officially signed anything, were such a wonderful presence on our rehearsal and actual wedding day, and were very upfront about all costs ahead of time (we weren't hit with any hidden fees). They executed everything we envisioned to perfection. Would HIGHLY recommend this venue to anyone who is looking to get married in Western Mass!
