“We recently had our wedding at Water’s Edge Resort and Spa, and overall, it was a beautiful and memorable day. The setting is absolutely stunning, with a gorgeous waterfront backdrop that sets the tone for a romantic, coastal celebration. The Venue: The venue itself is the real star. The ceremony space overlooking the water is breathtaking, and our guests were wowed. The Royal Ballroom was elegant and clean, though it felt a bit tight for our 200-person guest count and had a small dance floor. The staff did a great job setting up. One of the biggest positives was their effort to keep our ceremony outside despite some tricky weather. Plan B changed multiple times throughout the day, but they were flexible and made a call two hours before—allowing us to have a lovely outdoor ceremony on the patio. The Coordination Team: This is where things fell short. The onsite wedding coordinators did their jobs but offered little more. They operate within a narrow set of rules, and most non-standard requests were met with a “no.” If you want anything custom, you’ll need to go to the head of sales. We strongly recommend hiring an independent wedding planner. The coordinators are not substitutes for a full-service planner and do not assist with day-of timelines. Don’t expect personalized guidance—you’ll need to advocate for yourself throughout. Tasting & Food: The tasting experience was one of the low points. The food was poorly executed, and it left us anxious. That said, the kitchen completely redeemed itself on the big day. The wedding food was delicious, well-presented, and received many compliments from our guests. We’re grateful they delivered when it mattered most. Pricing & Contracts: Expect extra charges for nearly everything. Review your contract closely—Water’s Edge adheres strictly to what’s written, even when verbal communication during planning differs. This added stress and confusion. Their team is extremely contract-focused, so nothing should be assumed unless it’s clearly in writing. Hotel & Room Block: The hotel is beautiful but expensive. Managing the room block was more difficult than anticipated, and we were quoted one rate, but our final contract reflected another. This required a lot of back-and-forth to sort out and added unnecessary friction to the planning process. Final Thoughts: Despite the challenges, we had a truly wonderful wedding day. The venue was stunning, our guests had an amazing time, and everything ran smoothly thanks to their structured operation. Water’s Edge is definitely a “wedding factory”—they’re efficient, but not especially flexible or tailored. If you go in with clear expectations, a strong outside planner, and a willingness to advocate for what you want, you can absolutely have the wedding of your dreams here. We’re grateful for the memories and happy with how everything turned out in the end.”

“I can’t even put into words how special my wedding was thanks to The Lake House (but I’m going to try lol). I found this location on Zola and when I contacted the owner, Paul, it was like speaking to an old friend even though we had never met before. He is so sincere and thoughtful and has the best tips and tricks for wedding planning. I never hired a wedding planner and I was a little overwhelmed in the beginning of my planning process but Paul was there every step of the way for me. He answered all my emails filled with dumb questions and he advised me in the best way. Carole, my wedding coordinator at the venue, was an absolute gem as well and made things so easy. My wedding was 11/16/24 (the last wedding of their season!) and I still have guests telling me how fantastic everything was. Especially the FOOD. I truly dream about the filet mignon and tiramisu we had about twice a week lol. I can’t say enough amazing things about this venue. I would have my next birthday party here just so I can see Paul and Carole again and eat more of the delicious food lol. The location is GORGEOUS and they truly made my wedding the best night of my entire life.”

“Our experience with The Riverview was incredible from start to finish. The process of booking included a detailed tour of the venue and a thorough review of the terms and conditions at a meeting to sign the contract, leaving us confident that we fully understood what we were agreeing to. Our tasting event was a wonderful chance to see the team in action and make some decisions about our own menu based on what we did and didn’t like. We worked with Kayla and Meghan as our coordinators, both of whom were a pleasure to work with and extremely responsive throughout the planning process. We were able to take advantage of their expertise based on experiences with past weddings but still had the flexibility to customize the details of the day so that it didn’t feel like a “cookie-cutter” event. And the physical space is truly beautiful! Our planning experience was wonderful, but the experience with the venue and team on the day of our wedding was exceptional. Meghan’s positive but firm leadership kept things moving smoothly and between her and our attendants, Cam and Felicia, every detail was attended to! They were prepared for everything, even wardrobe malfunctions, makeup mishaps, and last-minute requests. We did quite a bit of DIY planning and customizing, but on the day of, we did not need to lift a finger! We were especially impressed the the special attention paid to our priorities. My husband and I were excited about our menu and prioritized food during our planning meetings. At our wedding, the venue made sure we had plenty of opportunity to eat, but the excitement of the day took away our appetite. The Riverview team packed up all of the food we couldn’t eat and sent us home with our leftovers (plus some!) so that we still got to enjoy our meal! Another item worth noting is that although two weddings took place that night, we never would have known it! We could not hear the other wedding in our ballroom and never encountered the other group during the entire time we were on site! In short, planning our wedding at The Riverview was an amazing experience, and the wedding day itself was even better! I’d encourage anyone to book!”

“Wright’s Mill Farm gave us the wedding day of our dreams — truly, I don’t even have the words for how perfect everything was. From the moment we booked, Bri was an absolute angel. She coordinated every detail with so much care, patience, and flexibility. No matter what I needed or how many times I changed my mind, she was right there making everything feel easy and stress-free. I could feel how much she genuinely cared about our day, and that meant the world. The staff the night of our wedding was beyond amazing. Every single person brought such warmth and energy, and the bartenders were absolutely stellar — they kept the party going, kept every guest happy, and did it all with huge smiles. Our friends and family are still talking about how incredible they were. The food and appetizers were delicious, beautifully presented, and exactly what we hoped for. And the s’mores bar? Such a perfect, cozy, magical touch that made the night feel even more special. Standing there with the people we love, in a place so stunning and cared for by a team that truly goes above and beyond, felt like living inside a dream. I wish I could do it a thousand times over. “Our experience having our wedding at the Delamar Mystic was truly magical. When we first started searching for venues, we knew we wanted to be somewhere on the water with a beautiful sunset. Funny enough, the Delamar Mystic wasn't originally on our list. While driving to tour other venues one day, we passed a beautiful building right on the water that immediately caught both of our attention. On a whim, we decided to turn around and see what it was. At the time, the hotel was still finishing construction and preparing for its soft opening the following weekend. By chance, there were staff members inside who were kind enough to show us around. The moment we saw the lobby, guest rooms, restaurant, and waterfront, something clicked. After touring several other venues, this was the first place where we could actually envision our wedding. There was certainly an element of trust involved in booking a brand-new hotel that was only beginning its first wedding season, and naturally there were some growing pains along the way. But ultimately, we couldn't be happier with our decision or with how beautifully everything came together. Our wedding day was everything we had hoped for. The setting was gorgeous, the food was delicious, and being directly on the Mystic River gave us opportunities that made the day uniquely ours. One of our favorite moments was chartering a small boat and sailing into cocktail hour, which was such a fun and memorable way to make our entrance. Being next to the Mystic Seaport Museum made something like that possible and is such a special feature of the location. We also highly recommend booking the cabin for the bridal party. It is incredibly spacious and was the perfect place for everyone to get ready together that morning. Having such a comfortable, dedicated space made the getting-ready portion of the day that much more enjoyable. Brian, our coordinator at the Delamar, was extremely helpful throughout the process and helped us navigate all the details that came with planning a wedding at a new venue. We also held our after-party at the hotel's restaurant, which was the perfect way to continue celebrating without asking our guests to travel somewhere else at the end of the night. There is something very special about knowing we were among the first couples to celebrate our wedding at the Delamar Mystic. We took a chance on a brand-new venue after discovering it completely by accident, and it turned into exactly the waterfront wedding we had been hoping for. Looking back, that spontaneous decision to turn the car around feels like it was meant to be. We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful setting for our wedding.”

“We had our wedding at the Boat Shed last weekend, and I truly cannot say enough good things about our experience with Constellation Catering. They went above and beyond and completely exceeded our expectations. Mary, Chantelle, Amy, and Angela were absolute superstars. They took care of everything for us and were always one step ahead. They were patient, incredibly helpful, kind, and genuinely caring throughout the entire process. On the wedding day, we were able to relax and enjoy ourselves knowing they had everything handled. They completely transformed the Boat Shed for our reception, and it looked absolutely beautiful. We chose the salmon and short rib for our entrées, and everything was delicious and came out hot. The entire staff was organized and efficient, and dinner service ran so smoothly. There was no sitting around waiting forever between courses—they kept everything moving while still making the evening feel relaxed and enjoyable. From setup and service to cleanup at the end of the night, everything was handled quickly and seamlessly. We felt incredibly well taken care of from start to finish. If you have the opportunity to book the Boat Shed for your wedding, do not hesitate. Between the beautiful views of the Mystic River, the history and charm of Mystic Seaport, and the incredible team at Constellation Catering, it is such a special place to get married.
