I had the pleasure of working with Hope Lodge Venue recently as a wedding photographer and I can say they are a fantastic choice . Their communication style is incredibly responsive, helpful, and enthusiastic - they go above and beyond to ensure every detail is taken care of. Great quality of work for a the value ; the venue is open, clean, bright, and airy, creating the perfect atmosphere for a wedding or big event . One memorable example was when the staff dressed up along with the Gatsby-themed wedding, truly immersing themselves in the couple's vision. My only suggestion would be for them to potentially expand their parking area in the future, but overall, Hope Lodge Venue is an excellent option for couples seeking a beautiful, well-managed wedding venue and one they could decorate and make their own.

I can’t even put into words how special my wedding was thanks to The Lake House (but I’m going to try lol). I found this location on Zola and when I contacted the owner, Paul, it was like speaking to an old friend even though we had never met before. He is so sincere and thoughtful and has the best tips and tricks for wedding planning. I never hired a wedding planner and I was a little overwhelmed in the beginning of my planning process but Paul was there every step of the way for me. He answered all my emails filled with dumb questions and he advised me in the best way. Carole, my wedding coordinator at the venue, was an absolute gem as well and made things so easy. My wedding was 11/16/24 (the last wedding of their season!) and I still have guests telling me how fantastic everything was. Especially the FOOD. I truly dream about the filet mignon and tiramisu we had about twice a week lol. I can’t say enough amazing things about this venue. I would have my next birthday party here just so I can see Paul and Carole again and eat more of the delicious food lol. The location is GORGEOUS and they truly made my wedding the best night of my entire life.

The Carousel Museum is truly a beautiful and unique venue, and very affordable compared to other venues. The chandeliers from the ceiling, the gorgeous wood, the colors and aesthetic can pretty much work with whatever your theme is. The staff were great, a couple minor issues leading up to the event but all things considered they did a fantastic job handling everything. Highly recommended!

Saint Clements Castle provided a beautiful venue and kind staff for our wedding day. We especially appreciated our sales coordinator, Alyssa, who was professional, fast, and clear in her communication throughout the planning process. When rain forced us to move the ceremony indoors, the team quickly adapted the art gallery for us. The servers and bridal attendants were also attentive and went above and beyond to help finish set up when our florist left early. Our guests had incredibly kind things to say about the servers, and overall we had a great experience. It was also lovely to have a place that was a one stop shop for event planning! We did lose some decor in the shuffle which was an inconvenience, and some of the instructions for set up I left were not followed (our confetti got lost, only four guests got packets, the bridal suites did not have the supplies we left for them). My husband’s family were also really upset with one of the managers on property who wouldn’t allow them to walk in a covered area and was a bit rude about it, despite an event not happening and the rain being a torrential downpour causing unsafe conditions for his elderly family to walk in. Overall we had a great experience, and would recommend the castle to anyone planning a wedding!

Where to even begin. My wife and I are beyond thrilled with the service and space provided at The Riverview. Kayla Rosenbeck was our coordinator and point of contact throughout our planning period. She was incredibly kind, patient, and knowledgeable throughout the year leading up to our event. My wife and I had a two-day experience at the venue in celebration of a traditional Hindu ceremony. The coordination of an outside caterer, working with their in-house kitchen, designing and decorating the space differently to mark the two events was a complex task. Kayla and her team did it without blinking. In the days of our events, my wife and I were supported by Cam and Tanya, two wonderfully dedicated attendants. They made sure we were fed, hydrated, and well cared for. They put us at ease immediately. The entire staff at The Riverview, from Kayla and her team, to reception, to kitchen, to custodial, was top-notch. We could not have asked for a more thorough and complete experience.

South Farms' features a premier farmland destination in Litchfield County and our award-winning events venue, The White Barn at South Farms Conveniently located between NYC and Boston in the Litchfield Hills of Connecticut, The White Barn at South Farms is a state-of-the-art events venue creatively constructed within the iconic Sam Paletsky Barn. South Farms boasts a working farm, stunning pastoral views, and all the amenities you would expect with a premier venue.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Has a dance floor to dance the night away
  • Has an energetic and exciting atmosphere

Venue considerations

  • No on-site guest accommodations
  • No all-inclusive dining options
  • Not for you if you prefer a more modern aesthetic
We had our wedding at South Farms on the most beautiful day in August 2025 (August 23rd), and we could not have asked for a more seamless, enjoyable, and memorable experience. From start to finish, everything felt effortless thanks to the incredible staff—especially our planner, Sam Blick. Her expertise, attention to detail, and excellent communication made the entire process so easy for us. Sam and the team went above and beyond to bring our vision to life. They supported us with décor decisions, room layout, and the day-of flow, and even made the week leading up to the wedding stress-free by letting us drop off décor items early. In fact, Sam even started unboxing and decorating for us the day before (well outside of her job description!), which was such a kind and thoughtful surprise. They even hosted a “decor trial,” allowing us to mock up flowers, tablescapes, and other details in advance—which was a huge help in visualizing the day. And then there’s the venue itself—absolutely stunning. Our guests (and us!) were in awe of the rolling hills, the wildflowers in bloom, and of course, the iconic White Barn, which truly feels like a centerpiece on its own. The setting gave us the perfect mix of elevated elegance and intimate charm—we didn’t need to add much to make the day feel beautiful and special. We also have to talk about the food. This is not your typical “wedding food.” The executive chef is unbelievably talented and flexible, serving dishes that highlight thoughtful, locally sourced ingredients. It felt like dining at a true farm-to-table restaurant. Weeks later, we’re still getting texts from guests raving about the lobster rolls and filet mignon! We’ve been to weddings where the food was cold or forgettable—South Farms was the complete opposite. Yes, the price point is higher, but if food is important to you, it’s absolutely worth it. We left feeling confident that we got every bit of value out of our investment. We are so grateful we chose South Farms as our wedding venue. It gave us the most perfect day, and we cannot wait to come back for their socials and events to relive memories of our favorite day at our favorite place.

The Waterview was the perfect venue for our wedding. From the moment we first reached out, their communication was professional, quick, helpful, and incredibly kind. The venue itself is absolutely beautiful inside and out, and the staff ran the day like a well-oiled machine with top-notch professionalism. Our bridal attendant, Brian, was also the sweetest and was always there for me, making sure I had everything I needed. We recently had our wedding at Water’s Edge Resort and Spa, and overall, it was a beautiful and memorable day. The setting is absolutely stunning, with a gorgeous waterfront backdrop that sets the tone for a romantic, coastal celebration. The Venue: The venue itself is the real star. The ceremony space overlooking the water is breathtaking, and our guests were wowed. The Royal Ballroom was elegant and clean, though it felt a bit tight for our 200-person guest count and had a small dance floor. The staff did a great job setting up. One of the biggest positives was their effort to keep our ceremony outside despite some tricky weather. Plan B changed multiple times throughout the day, but they were flexible and made a call two hours before—allowing us to have a lovely outdoor ceremony on the patio. The Coordination Team: This is where things fell short. The onsite wedding coordinators did their jobs but offered little more. They operate within a narrow set of rules, and most non-standard requests were met with a “no.” If you want anything custom, you’ll need to go to the head of sales. We strongly recommend hiring an independent wedding planner. The coordinators are not substitutes for a full-service planner and do not assist with day-of timelines. Don’t expect personalized guidance—you’ll need to advocate for yourself throughout. Tasting & Food: The tasting experience was one of the low points. The food was poorly executed, and it left us anxious. That said, the kitchen completely redeemed itself on the big day. The wedding food was delicious, well-presented, and received many compliments from our guests. We’re grateful they delivered when it mattered most. Pricing & Contracts: Expect extra charges for nearly everything. Review your contract closely—Water’s Edge adheres strictly to what’s written, even when verbal communication during planning differs. This added stress and confusion. Their team is extremely contract-focused, so nothing should be assumed unless it’s clearly in writing. Hotel & Room Block: The hotel is beautiful but expensive. Managing the room block was more difficult than anticipated, and we were quoted one rate, but our final contract reflected another. This required a lot of back-and-forth to sort out and added unnecessary friction to the planning process. Final Thoughts: Despite the challenges, we had a truly wonderful wedding day. The venue was stunning, our guests had an amazing time, and everything ran smoothly thanks to their structured operation. Water’s Edge is definitely a “wedding factory”—they’re efficient, but not especially flexible or tailored. If you go in with clear expectations, a strong outside planner, and a willingness to advocate for what you want, you can absolutely have the wedding of your dreams here. We’re grateful for the memories and happy with how everything turned out in the end.

We got married on 10/25/25 and I will be thinking about our wedding and the SHF for forever. When we started looking for a wedding venue, we knew we wanted something filled with personality, charm, and a touch of whimsy. Not a corporate, cookie-cutter space. The moment we stepped onto the grounds of The Salem Herb Farm, we knew we had found it. The gardens, the string lights, the 1800s barn and the fire pets! Oh my goodness. All perfect!Every inch of the property feel magical. Working with Elizabeth was an absolute dream. Her kindness and genuine care made the entire planning process so easy and enjoyable. This is truly a family-run business, and they treat you like family from day one. Every detail was handled with love and thoughtfulness, and we felt supported every step of the way. We used Elizabeth as our coordinator as well and she went above and beyond what the role should be. Our wedding day was nothing short of a dream come true. It was beautiful, intimate and whimsical. We can’t recommend The Salem Herb Farm enough!

We had a beautiful wedding at the greenhouse of the Beardsley Zoo. The GlowWild light festival in the evening simply added to the magic of the event. The coordinators were wonderful in helping us set up and organize everything. If I had one piece of constructive feedback, it would just be that the head coordinator, Lindsay, was sometimes tricky to get in contact with via telephone for things like making our deposit and final payment for the venue.

I can’t recommend The Candlewood Inn enough! We live 2 hours away but had no second thoughts about booking this venue. Not only is the location absolutely gorgeous, but the staff is incredible to work with. Christian and team were so helpful, responsive, accommodating, and kind. There is only 1 event per day, so you get the full focus of the Candlewood team. We also booked the on location bridal suite for the girls to get ready in the morning of the wedding. The space was perfect, and they provided us with so much food. And speaking of the food, it was incredible! Our guests are still telling us how much they enjoyed the food, service, and overall beauty at Candlewood. We had several of them tell us that the 2 hour drive to our wedding was 100% worth it, which is the highest praise I could give!
