Beautiful Venue, But That’s About It
Our wedding was absolutely beautiful and so much fun, largely because of our incredible wedding vendors who were NOT associated with Water’s Edge. The venue itself is gorgeous, and is the perfect spot for a wedding but unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. During the sales process, they absolutely wine and dine you. Once that first check is paid, though? Good luck. The communication, organization, and overall level of care completely fell off. The final month was unnecessarily stressful. Things that had been promised and discussed throughout the planning process were suddenly changed or taken away, communication was inconsistent, and some staff were rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. The ceremony rehearsal was chaotic, disorganized, and so brief that it barely felt like a rehearsal. Then came the wedding day: our cake topper wasn’t put on the cake, and the bride and groom never received the cocktail-hour food we were specifically promised would be set aside for us. The next morning, we had trouble locating our décor. Now, after returning home and taking inventory, we have confirmed that multiple bins and storage containers containing our wedding décor are still missing — and Water’s Edge is refusing to take responsibility or provide any meaningful help in locating them. We understand that the weather is not anyone’s fault, and we appreciated the people who worked hard to adjust to the rain. But weather doesn’t excuse poor communication, disorganization, or a complete lack of follow-through. Water’s Edge is beautiful. The experience was not. For the amount of money couples spend here, the service should be exceptional from the first meeting through the wedding day — not just until you sign the contract and hand over the first check. I would recommend Water’s Edge to couples because the venue itself is absolutely stunning and our wedding turned out beautifully. However, I strongly recommend hiring an independent wedding coordinator or planner who is not associated with Water’s Edge. Based on our experience, having someone there whose sole responsibility is to advocate for you, keep an eye on the details, and make sure everything actually happens as promised would be extremely important. In the end, it was the best day of my life but it was stressful getting there.

Memorial Day Weekend Wedding
We fell in love with the Water’s Edge venue for our wedding. The resort offered everything we were looking for from lodging, fine dining, activities and amazing hospitality. Melody, the wedding manager, truly made all of our dreams come true. We had a weekend full of events hosted by Water’s Edge- and we were impressed beyond belief. She made the process not only simple and an ease, but enjoyable. Her energy is immaculate & you can tell she truly loves her job. She eased all our worries and even when it came to the difficult decisions of pivoting plans because of weather she handled it with grace, knowledge and clarity that we would still have the most perfect day- and that was 100% delivered. She was extremely responsive in the planning process and truly so knowledgeable about everything I needed. All our guests enjoyed themselves, even it being the rain option. We also had a wonderful experience with the banquet manager, Victor. During our dining events, Victor was present and helpful- accounting for everything him and his team ensured our dining services not only ran smoothly, but that the food was pristine and accurate. We truly felt like we had the best day ever and you cannot put a price to that- however we do believe that for everything Water’s Edge did for us the amount spent was extremely fair!

Wonderful venue!
We chose Water’s Edge for our August 2025 wedding because of the beautiful views, outstanding service, and inclusive wedding package. It was truly the perfect venue for us! We loved that our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception all took place on-site with the stunning ocean views. We greatly appreciated having a wedding manager to assist in planning and day-of coordination. We had a fantastic experience working with Lindsey, who supported us from start to finish! If you’re looking for a one-stop shop scenic venue, this is it! You’ll need to book your entertainment, florals, and photographer. Water’s Edge can do the rest, significantly reducing the number of vendors you need. Our package included a complimentary stay the evening of our wedding, a couple’s massage at the resort's spa, and a complimentary anniversary dinner at the resort. I also purchased my wedding dress from Michele’s Bridal Boutique at Water’s Edge and received a 10% discount for being a Water’s Edge bride. We can’t thank the Water’s Edge staff enough. Everyone at the resort – the valets, our food service team, our bartenders, the wedding team, etc. – was friendly, responsive, and ensured a seamless event. Thank you! We can’t wait to return for our anniversary.

Best venue!
From the moment we booked our wedding at Water's Edge Resort and Spa, their team was fantastic at communicating with us every step of the way. They have a great event space that was perfect for our wedding, and they were extremely accommodating to all of our requests leading up to the big day. When rain threatened to put a damper on our outdoor cocktail hour, the staff worked quickly to put together a beautiful backup plan indoors so we could still have the wedding of our dreams. The level of service we received from the entire team at Water's Edge was truly outstanding, and we are so grateful for all their hard work in making our special day a huge success.

Beautiful Venue – Plan Ahead and Hire a Planner
We recently had our wedding at Water’s Edge Resort and Spa, and overall, it was a beautiful and memorable day. The setting is absolutely stunning, with a gorgeous waterfront backdrop that sets the tone for a romantic, coastal celebration. The Venue: The venue itself is the real star. The ceremony space overlooking the water is breathtaking, and our guests were wowed. The Royal Ballroom was elegant and clean, though it felt a bit tight for our 200-person guest count and had a small dance floor. The staff did a great job setting up. One of the biggest positives was their effort to keep our ceremony outside despite some tricky weather. Plan B changed multiple times throughout the day, but they were flexible and made a call two hours before—allowing us to have a lovely outdoor ceremony on the patio. The Coordination Team: This is where things fell short. The onsite wedding coordinators did their jobs but offered little more. They operate within a narrow set of rules, and most non-standard requests were met with a “no.” If you want anything custom, you’ll need to go to the head of sales. We strongly recommend hiring an independent wedding planner. The coordinators are not substitutes for a full-service planner and do not assist with day-of timelines. Don’t expect personalized guidance—you’ll need to advocate for yourself throughout. Tasting & Food: The tasting experience was one of the low points. The food was poorly executed, and it left us anxious. That said, the kitchen completely redeemed itself on the big day. The wedding food was delicious, well-presented, and received many compliments from our guests. We’re grateful they delivered when it mattered most. Pricing & Contracts: Expect extra charges for nearly everything. Review your contract closely—Water’s Edge adheres strictly to what’s written, even when verbal communication during planning differs. This added stress and confusion. Their team is extremely contract-focused, so nothing should be assumed unless it’s clearly in writing. Hotel & Room Block: The hotel is beautiful but expensive. Managing the room block was more difficult than anticipated, and we were quoted one rate, but our final contract reflected another. This required a lot of back-and-forth to sort out and added unnecessary friction to the planning process. Final Thoughts: Despite the challenges, we had a truly wonderful wedding day. The venue was stunning, our guests had an amazing time, and everything ran smoothly thanks to their structured operation. Water’s Edge is definitely a “wedding factory”—they’re efficient, but not especially flexible or tailored. If you go in with clear expectations, a strong outside planner, and a willingness to advocate for what you want, you can absolutely have the wedding of your dreams here. We’re grateful for the memories and happy with how everything turned out in the end.
