About this venue
Where the castle meets the river, Saint Clements Castle & Marina, is Connecticut’s premier wedding and event venue in Portland. Situated along the banks of the river, each of the three unique event spaces provide a picturesque and scenic backdrop of the riverside and lush greenery while outdoors. Inside, you will find newly renovated historical charm for a variety of special events, including weddings, showers, corporate meetings, and other celebrations. Saint Clements Castle has earned a reputation of an elevated and enchanting setting perfect for all things in life worth celebrating. Saint Clements Castle and Marina’s location, in central Connecticut, is easily accessible as a midpoint from the New York City and Boston areas.

The Waterford Ballroom has glistening crystal chandeliers, Chiavari chairs, stunning natural light, rich, warm wood tones, and a light, airy essence. The charming courtyard, expansive lawn, and art gallery complement the Waterford Ballroom.

The Prince Edward Ballroom
Known for its elegant ambiance and timeless design, the neutral and airy vibe of this space allows you to bring your personal dream event to life.
The Prince Edward Ballroom provides a beautiful reception space, with coffered ceilings, stunning Firenze crystal chandeliers, wainscoted walls, a large dance floor, and Chiavari chairs. The newest addition to the space is the new Overlook Ceremony Site, featuring stunning views of the Connecticut River. The intimate tavern courtyard, original stables, and hand-crafted tavern bar add unique flair to the Prince Edward Ballroom.

Incredible!
We know from when we first stepped foot on the property this would be our venue. From start to finish, they exceeded are expectations and Alyssa was always incredibly communicative with any question we had and helped bring our vision to life. The staff was outstanding and made sure the day ran as smoothly as possibly (checking in, bringing out hors d’oeuvres for our wedding party, etc). The food was also amazing and we heard so many compliments from our guests. Best decision we could have made!

Incredible Venue, Great People
My wife and I had our wedding here in the Waterford Room (the best one, don't let anyone tell you otherwise), and had an incredible time. Not only is Saint Clements a beautiful venue, but the staff are incredible professional and helpful. We worked with Shelby and Geri, and they were both wonderful to work with from start to finish, from when we were choosing the venue through the actual day of the wedding. They listened to us and understood what we were looking for when we were touring, were communicative and helpful throughout all the planning processes, and helped make sure everything ran smoothly on the day of our wedding despite disruptions that were outside of their control (we unfortunately had rainy weather and needed to move our ceremony indoors). The food is excellent - our guests were raving about the quality of the dinner and all the extra late-night add-ons like the mac n cheese bar and dessert station. We never had any doubts that we chose the right place to have our wedding.

Absolutely Stunning!
When we arrived at Saint Clements we automatically knew this was our venue! We got married at the Rivers Edge Marina and it was absolutely stunning! Both the inside and outside of the venue were so beautiful and clean. We loved everything about the details and working with the staff here. Alyssa, our sales coordinator was attentive and helpful right from our first meeting. She answered all our questions and made the process so much easier. Autumn, our day of coordinator was so much fun and so helpful. They truly made our experience into the most magical day.

We recently had the pleasure of hosting our wedding at Saint Clements, and we can honestly say that from start to finish, everything exceeded our expectations. The sales team (Alyssa, Shelby, and Pam) was so responsive and helpful from the moment we first inquired, guiding us through every step of the planning process with ease. They truly listened to our needs and helped us bring our vision to life. On the day of the wedding, the service was impeccable. The staff (Autumn, Vanessa, and team) went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly, allowing us to relax and fully enjoy every moment. The food was absolutely delicious — our guests couldn’t stop complimenting how amazing the meal was. Every course was served with perfection and the presentation was stunning. The atmosphere was everything we had hoped for, and the venue itself was a perfect backdrop for our celebration. We can’t thank Saint Clements enough for making our wedding day so memorable. From the exceptional staff to the flawless execution of every detail, it was an unforgettable experience. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a top-notch wedding venue!

The Perfect Venue
We got married at Saint Clements Castle last month and it was the perfect choice for our wedding venue. From the beginning, their communication was quick and efficient which made the booking process so easy. Everyone we worked with was incredibly accommodating and the whole staff was friendly and very nice to work with. The venue itself is so beautiful making all of our pictures exactly what we had envisioned. We had our reception in the Prince Edward Ballroom which was stunning and big enough for all our guests. The castle is so unique which made it truly unforgettable. Our coordinator Shelby was incredibly kind and helpful from the start. She really made our day everything we dreamed of! All of our guests raved about the delicious food and drinks which made the whole night enjoyable for everyone. We can't recommend this venue enough - it was everything we were looking for. Their vendor suggestions, quick responses to our questions and flexibility with requests made wedding planning a breeze!
