About Moxxie Street Events
Moxxie Street Events
Hi, I’m Marissa (she/her)! When my anti-marriage boyfriend proposed in 2020, I knew nothing about weddings—I’d never even been to one. For the next two years, I consumed everything related to weddings as I planned my own. My husband and I prioritized what was important to us and compromised on things that weren’t as important. We balked at most traditions and gravitated towards nontraditional twists. We worked together to create an incredible day that was ours. When it was over, I was overflowing with knowledge and ideas that I no longer needed…until I decided to start Moxxie Street Events.
Although my prior work experience is unique, it influences everything I do as a wedding planner and coordinator. The many moving parts of a wedding are similar to the short films I produced during my college years. I lean on the resourcefulness I honed providing library services on Rikers Island to help clients navigate modest budgets in NYC. I specialize in DIY and nontraditional weddings. Let's get weird.
In three words: Collaborative, Resourceful, Thoughtful

| Description | Planning a wedding is hard. Let's collaborate from the very beginning to create a wedding that's true to you. | My version of comprehensive coordination. For the last 90 days, I’ll take over as the point of contact for your vendors and start working with them to create a day-of timeline. I’ll help with floor plans, ceremony coordination, ironing out the little details, and filling in the gaps you didn’t realize were there. | Turns out you’re really good at wedding planning! Or maybe relinquishing control is hard. Probably both–and that’s okay! But really, let me manage your day so you can actually enjoy all of your hard work. I’ll start working with you up to 45 days before your wedding and learn every detail so that I can seamlessly execute your plans. |

Best wedding coordinator in NYC
From the moment we met Marissa, we knew we were in excellent hands, but she still managed to exceed every expectation. Ours was a DIY, 150-guest wedding staged like an off-off-Broadway play across three locations, with many vendors and countless moving parts: dozens of silk-flower centerpieces, 600 artificial candles, a five-tier cake, curated favors, and even a full gallery wall of portraits to install. Marissa built the most thorough, beautifully organized timeline our venue had seen in decades (their words, not ours) and executed it with calm precision. What could have felt chaotic was instead seamless, joyful, and on time. She anticipated needs before we knew we had them, communicated clearly with every vendor, and shielded us from stress. Marissa made sure we actually got to enjoy the day - she made sure we ate during the reception, stayed hydrated, and had a relaxed, joyful experience ourselves. Thanks to her, we could truly be present rather than pulled in a hundred directions. Our guests raved about how smooth and theatrical the day felt; it exactly the immersive experience we dreamed of. Marissa didn’t just coordinate; she produced a show, transformed our vision into reality, and somehow made it all look easy. We are forever grateful. If you’re lucky enough to book her, DO IT!
So glad we hired Marissa!
From securing vendors to day-of coordination to random little questions (like can we get L&B’s pizza delivered to our venue late at night? and where can we get a selfie mirror welcome sign?), Marissa was there to offer her guidance. Early on, we talked about communication and budget to set expectations. We have pretty busy schedules, but Marissa was really understanding and flexible, even when we could only check-in via emails or have calls in the evening. She also let us know what to expect budget-wise for each vendor and helped us prioritize where we wanted to splurge or save. Marissa was also really thoughtful when looking for vendors for us. She recommended a photographer who had shot tea ceremonies before, and made sure to find hair and makeup artists who were familiar with working with Asian features. Day-of, our venue was a bit disorganized and there were some issues with some of the vendors, but because we had Marissa there, we didn't need to worry about the little things and could just enjoy our day! She also had great ideas for DIY or adding personal touches for the wedding. We wouldn’t have been able to do it without her!
A great experience
We hired Marissa for our small restaurant wedding (45ish people) via her Retrograde Proof package (3 planning meetings, day-of coordination assistant, etc.), and I'm so glad we made the choice! She was very communicative, thoughtful, and easygoing. We were on the fence about hiring a coordinator, as our celebration was fairly simple, but I'm really glad we went with Marissa. She gave us guidance and was a great sounding board in the lead-up to the celebration, and on the day-of, her presence made things much less stressful. It was so great to be able to lean on her to handle the details (and things I hadn't even considered, like building in breaks during the event, or remembering to drink water!). The venue, florist, and photographer also commented on how lovely Marissa was to work with. Hire her!!
Awesome Experience
We are so grateful we had Marissa as our day of coordinator. From the very beginning she was incredible with communication- always quick to respond, clear with details and ready to answer every question. She thought of so many things we didn't think of! Marissa worked seamlessly with all our vendors, making the process much less stressful. On the day of the wedding the timeline ran perfectly thanks to her organization. we were able to relax and fully enjoy all the moments knowing everything was handled. We truly couldn't have done it without Marissa and would hightly recommend her to any couple!
