Hi, I’m Marissa (she/her)! When my anti-marriage boyfriend proposed in 2020, I knew nothing about weddings—I’d never even been to one. For the next two years, I consumed everything related to weddings as I planned my own. My husband and I prioritized what was important to us and compromised on things that weren’t as important. We balked at most traditions and gravitated towards nontraditional twists. We worked together to create an incredible day that was ours. When it was over, I was overflowing with knowledge and ideas that I no longer needed…until I decided to start Moxxie Street Events.

I specialize in weddings given the "nontraditional" label and usually a good amount of DIY. My ideal clients have the courage to do things their way, but always with intentionality and true to themselves. I want your wedding to reflect your personalities and your story as a couple. The biggest thing? Aesthetics are nice, but I care more about how your day feels. I care about how YOU will feel because your guests feed off of your energy. Oh, and I know how to stretcha budget!

Turns out you’re really good at wedding planning! Or maybe relinquishing control is hard. Probably both–and that’s okay! But really, let me manage your day so you can actually enjoy all of your hard work. I’ll start working with you up to 45 days before your wedding and learn every detail so that I can seamlessly execute your plans. For more support and involvement., I also have a 90-day plan available ($4200+).

    So grateful for the best wedding coordinator ever!

    Marissa & her team are the reason why we were able to have such a wonderful & memorable wedding day. We could not be more thankful for her presence, organization, and brilliance. We chose Marissa because our wedding was quite nontraditional and we knew right away that she would be the perfect day of coordinator to honor our unique way of doing things. We had two venues (a restaurant and a rented backyard), a packed morning of two different ceremonies, shifting groups of guests, and lots of DIY (florals, custom printed postcards, snack table, drink station, you name it). Leading up to the wedding day, Marissa's planning meetings were so helpful and brought us a lot of peace in an otherwise stressful process. We thought we were already organized people to begin with but the questions she asked and micro-logistics she pointed out were so incredibly clarifying. She made a beautiful timeline and had all the chess pieces in place to ensure that we don't have to overthink things. On the wedding day, Marissa & her team dealt with everything so seamlessly. We were able to shut our brains off and trust that she would coordinate and execute everything to perfection. She reminded us to drink water and made sure we had what we need during every part of the event, which was so so beautiful precisely because we got to be present in it. We even had an impromptu birthday cake for all our Gemini loved ones that she helped us get spontaneously. There are not enough words to express how grateful we are for Marissa and her team. It's one thing to have the coordination and organizational prowess, but Marissa is so much more in who she is as a person. Marissa is thoughtful, values-driven, and inclusive; she was such a joy to have in our diverse and multicultural community. We are so happy we got to work with her and honestly will recommend her forever.

    Thoughtful, phenomenal, kind 3

    We got married in NYC (2 venues, 2 boroughs) in late May and could not have been more pleased with Marissa and her team. As a couple with a background in events, using a lot of people from our own circle as vendors and also trying to save money, we certainly had some funky stuff going on, and Marissa rolled with every single punch. She handled everything from us gracefully and holistically and thought of so many things we never would have. She learned our taste, followed our cues, and led when necessary. She helped us rein it in when needed and get creative/expand where it made sense to. She is OR.GA.NIZED. Spreadsheets, timelines, emails, all of it. Helped us stay sane but didn't go overboard or take it in directions unfitting to us as people. We've already recommended her to close friends and will continue to sing her praises.

    A coordinator who cares as much as you 3

    We initially sought out a coordinator because our restaurant venue didn't offer early setup and breakdown support, but what we got was so much more than day of logistics help. Marissa took a careful, detailed interest in every aspect of our day and kept us on schedule. She's one of the fastest and most thorough communicators we've ever worked with, and knew the questions we didn't even know to ask leading up to the wedding day. Our day truly went perfectly, and even with the tiny "issues" like our seating chart going missing, she handled it without skipping a beat and our guests got to their seats seamlessly. Working with Marissa was genuinely one of the best decisions we made for our wedding!

    The BEST day-of experience with Marissa team!

    We couldn't have had a better experience with Marissa and her team at Moxie Street Events for our NYC wedding! Her Management package was worth every dollar x1000000! From our first kick-off, she was detail-oriented, insightful, and so kind. I felt like a true collaborator with Marissa and trusted her to help bring our vision to life in the ways that were most important to us-- and she absolutely did! She made sure every detail was accounted for in her timeline and planning and made herself available for any and all questions. Her communication throughout the entire planning process was prompt, clear, and reassuring. She also did a great job with vendor management and kept everyone on the same page. On our wedding day, her day-of coordination was flawless. We felt totally taken care of and never rushed.     Marissa is a super hero!

    We are so grateful for Marissa's support, wisdom, planning, and coordination for the last 5 months. We had SO MUCH FUN at our wedding and so did our guests! Hiring Marissa was the best money we spent in our wedding budget. In the planning process she helped us stick to our budget and somehow still make all the fun and "us" stuff happen with these amazing vendors. On the day of, we didn't have to worry once about the time, or where items or people were, or the comfort of our guests -- Marissa made sure all the plans and vendors connected up seamlessly (with room in the timeline for surprises). It was so fun and beautiful. I'm attaching one of the photos from the wedding -- because it shows exactly what we're talking about -- we're having the time of our lives with our guests and Marissa taking care of business!

While I always have at least one assistant with me on the wedding day, I'm a one-woman show. You will work with me every step of the way. I don't outsource or have associates working under me.
In just under two years, I've done 25 incredibly unique weddings. I've worked with lots of DIY clients and nontraditional spaces. I've also done inclusive venues like restaurants, raw spaces, museums, a boat, a backyard, and a coworking space. I just did a surprise wedding!
I very rarely do multiple weddings in one weekend. If I do, it's usually during a busy season like September or October. My prices allow me to maintain a balanced workload, so I can give all my clients the attention they deserve.
Full-planning starts at $8500 when working with a budget of $85k or lower. My fee is based on the overall budget, starting at 10%. Before booking, I let clients know what's realistic and how I will approach allocating the budget. Percentage pricing allows for scope creep (a bigger budget is more work). I also include a buffer in my contract.
Yes! I create a custom proposal for partial planning after our initial call. My 90-package is the base price. I also offer a "pay-as-you-go" method for partial planning with my a la carte options (vendor matching and consulting hours).
