The Best Wedding Ever? We Have Dawn to Thank
We got engaged in late December 2024 and knew we wanted to get married in October 2025. With such a quick turn, coupled with the fact that both of us have very demanding jobs (and no idea how to plan a wedding!), we knew we needed a planner. We also had a vague sense of our budget and quickly found that many planners have minimum budget requirements before they even speak to you. We also found that many planners are unreliable and don't return calls. Not Dawn. Dawn got back to us immediately and was interested in working with us regardless of our budget. Choosing Dawn as our wedding planner was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. Dawn has a ton of contacts and we were able to secure phenomenal vendors through her. Dawn also made herself extremely available--she will take, or cede, as much control as you want. Even if you have a crazy idea (and I'm sure we had a few!), she will do her best to make it come to fruition. Our wedding turned out exactly as we imagined and many of our guests said it was the best wedding they've ever attended. For this, we have Dawn to thank. Coming from two people who never write reviews, we were happy to write this as we really can't say enough good things about Dawn. If you're looking for an organized, adaptable, unflappable planner, reach out to Dawn. You won't regret it!
Perfect planning
Working with Dawn of First Light Events was an absolute pleasure from start to finish. Her communication style was prompt, thorough, patient, and highly professional, which put us at ease throughout the entire wedding planning process. The quality of her work and the value she provided was truly outstanding - she was extremely knowledgeable about all parts of our wedding day - from ceremony details to food to rentals. She was thoughtful, supportive, and ensured every detail was taken care of, allowing us to enjoy our special day without a hitch. She turned our blank wedding venue into a beautiful ceremony area and elegant reception. She handled the nitty-gritty so we did not have to lift a finger the day of our wedding. We could not have asked for a more well-rounded and capable person to bring our wedding vision to life. We booked First Light Events after attending a friend's wedding that Dawn had organized and are so glad we did. We had no idea what we were doing and Dawn started with an overview of all the key considerations (including things we would have never thought of). We made a lot of unconventional choices and she was always super supportive, and nonjudgmental, even when we changed our minds multiple times (we went from not wanting florals to wanting them 2 months before the wedding and Dawn found us the perfect florist). Whenever we reached out with a request, the First Light team was immediately on top of it, gently prodding us when needed to keep us on track despite our own at-times scattered communication. Dawn was always responsive, detailed, and organized. Her enthusiasm and thoroughness were the two key things we needed to make our wedding weekend perfect. On the actual day, Dawn kept the whole even running seamlessly, adjusting to last-minute reshuffling when things went wrong (like family members disappearing before a big dance). We never had to know what time it was or what the next step was because Dawn was there to shepherd us through the day. We couldn't have done it without First Light Event's incredible service and highly recommend them to plan your wedding or any other big day.
Dream Backyard Wedding
From the moment we started working with First Light Events, we knew we were in good hands! Dawn was open and so helpful for creating the day we wanted! We had ideas for our small backyard wedding, but we didn't really know where to start and the roadmap she laid out really made the process clear. Communicating with Dawn made planning straightforward. She was receptive and helped solidify our vision.
