“The photographer, videographer, and photo booth was absolutely perfect and our guests had a blast! However, even after going through the work of submitting a Spotify play list and adding do not play songs or DJ played the wrong version of our first dance song (I checked and we had the correct version listed on our playlist we sent over), he also played songs from our do not play list to the point I, the bride, came over to ask if he had the wrong list. He admitted he was using songs from the do not play list as he was not paying attention. I would also like to note, though our wedding was more casual, our DJ was dressed in a sloppy manner. His shirt was half untucked from his pants, there were stains on his shirt and pants. Besides a few hiccups, direct Entertainment was wonderful to work with!”

We watched them perform at a showcase in the Baltimore area and loved how they structured their evening with different pairings of band members and instruments - it helped us make an informed decision about the number of instruments we wanted to include. We were wow-ed by Amber at the showcase, and were thrilled to have her emcee our wedding! Communication with the band was very straightforward. We only had a handful of requests, but otherwise, let them play the sets as they saw fit. Truthfully, I can’t remember them taking many breaks because it felt like they played the whole night! Our guests continue to say how excellent the band was! For the ceremony, the band provided a speaker and a representative to press “play” on our music. We also had a trio perform beautifully at cocktail hour. One fun note: we opted for parent dances, and the band had no issues with my Bruce Springsteen deep cut. The singer even channeled his “Boss” to really sound like Bruce! Our dance floor was full from the start, and we loved the sets they played. “Booking Carinvalè for our wedding was the absolute BEST decision we could have ever made!! Our venue had recommended BVTLive if we were interested in booking a band, so we watched one of their live showcases streamed live on YouTube. My husband and I enjoyed all of the bands that played, but one really stuck out to us, Carnivalè! We booked Carnivalè without even seeing them in person, that’s how good they are! When we did attend a showcase in person a few weeks later, they exceeded our expectations and we started counting down the days until they would play at our wedding! Working with Nils to lay out all of our options was amazing! He is the sweet person you’ll ever meet and so on top of things! Leading up to the wedding we worked closely with our band leader, El, to choose songs and create a timeline for our wedding. “The communication with Prime 1 Productions could have been better leading up to the wedding. While they did a decent job overall with the music and entertainment, they could have done a better job reading the vibe of the room and playing more of a variety of songs that got everyone dancing. The person I booked with was not the one who actually came to our wedding, which was a bit of a surprise. However, the DJ who did come was very nice and tried his best, even though he messed up the intro to our first dance a bit. Overall, Prime 1 Productions provided a serviceable performance, but I wish they had been a bit more in tune with the energy and preferences of our guests.”

“Where to start - Josh (DJ Topedo) is an extremely personable and professional person, first of all. His introduction, process, meetings, etc. were all extremely seamless, made us feel comfortable, really got to know who we are and what we were looking for, and generally a smooth experience from start to finish. We wanted a DJ who would actually mix tracks and take our inputs for song selections and preferences seriously and stick to it - and DJ Topedo delivered! From the App platform that is used to help provide timeline details, to song selection via streaming platforms, to even us requesting to mix in video game/pop culture sound bytes into the tracks later in the night - it was a super intuitive way to provide this input, and he guided us through it all (and reviewed multiple times with us). It's so nice to have that level of organization when it comes to something as intricate as your wedding day-of timeline and making sure the right songs are playing at the right times. This also goes for the MC aspect of DJ-ing, which Josh was flawless in - even last-minute adjusting the wedding party introduction order due to a mixup on our end. We also loved how DJ Topedo offered so many options for uplighting, video vs. photo booths (we went with the video booth), and even a videographer (which we opted for). He really does offer an all inclusive turnkey package for whatever you're looking for, it really gives you peace of mind. All his equipment and setup is top notch, clean, and it was a totally hands-free experience the day-of. Additionally, we opted for DJ Topedo specifically to DJ our wedding, and we couldn't have been happier. If you're looking for the best DJ in the DC area, DJ Topedo is it.”
