My husband and I decided to elope but truly didn’t know where to begin. I searched and threaded the internet for someone/something that felt right. I honestly got a little discouraged because we didn’t want a cookie cutter type experience, use the same props others use, or just play a role in a “wedding” script. We wanted to have a day that was unique to us, authentic, and about our story. We wanted to be in the mountains, see wildflowers, have privacy, and be able to glorify God in our most special day. I stumbled upon Oathbound Elopements, read about Amberly’s values, goals, what she offered, and sent the link to my now husband. I felt apprehensive about trusting another person with the details of our special day, but there was something about Amberly that made us feel at ease and have faith to trust in this process. It’s as if she was placed in our path specifically for us. I had a very stress free experience with the entirety of planning the elopement with Amberly. She gets to know you individually and genuinely puts every ounce of effort into planning your day exactly how you dream of it. She coordinated all of it, and I am still amazed at how she did it! All we had to do was make decisions based on what we wanted our wedding day to look like. Amberly took care of everything. She even bought a canoe so we could go out on Bowman Lake and paddle around! She eased our nerves, encouraged us, was proactive, tenacious, kind, funny, thoughtful, protective, empathetic, and trustworthy. She was transparent about every detail and any challenge that came up. Getting married is a vulnerable and raw experience. Looking back, I wouldn’t change a single thing. Amberly made it possible for that day to happen, and it was perfect for us. I felt at peace, no stress, and was able to be present in each precious moment. I would not hesitate to work with Amberly again and highly recommend her. Our photographs came out stunning! She captured our day and all of our moments. She captured the real and natural- not the airbrushed and edited version of us. These moments that cannot even be articulated through words. Amberly worked tirelessly, had a positive attitude, and was a pleasure to have with us as we went through our wedding day and all the emotions that ebbed and flowed. People like Amberly are rare. She is a very skilled photographer, a genuinely good person, faithful, patient, and now forever a part of our story. I am proud to also call her our friend.

Aurelia K Photography

5.0

  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $7,500
  • Serves Trego, MT

Hey! I'm Aurelia! I am a natural light wedding photographer based in Western Montana with a love for the golden sunsets, the wild west & all things travel. I am ready to be your new bestie all while capturing your unique love story through my lens, anywhere your love takes you. Let's adventure together! It is super important to me that my photos capture true emotion + connection with you + your lover.

Before we were even engaged, we reached out to Aurelia, hoping she'd be available for an elopement the following year. Her incredible portfolio gave us a strong gut feeling—we knew we had to get on her books before we made it official. From our very first conversation, we felt at ease. Despite being total strangers and miles apart, there was an immediate sense that she was the right person to authentically capture our special day. What we didn’t realize at the time was that we weren’t just hiring a photographer—we were gaining an advocate, a guide, and someone who truly cared about our experience. Eloping in a state we don’t live in came with its challenges, but Aurelia was there every step of the way. She was quick to respond to every question and hurdle, including coordinating a backup florist at the last minute when our original one failed to respond the night before the wedding. We were also lucky enough to have Aurelia take our engagement photos a few months before the big day. As two people who don’t naturally feel comfortable in front of a camera, we hoped this would help us ease into things. But what truly made the difference wasn’t the extra session—it was Aurelia’s gift for capturing candid, genuine moments without making us feel overly posed. When we sent her a Pinterest board of ideas, she went above and beyond—showing up prepared with props, and even driving a vintage car down a dirt road to bring our vision to life. Leading up to our wedding day, Aurelia created a thoughtful and organized timeline that we shared with our loved ones. Thanks to her preparation, everyone was on the same page, allowing us to stay present and on track to capture all the moments that mattered most. For my husband, the idea of six hours of photos initially sounded like a nightmare. But by the end of the day, he said, “That was the most fun I’ve had in a while—and my favorite memory with you, even more than traveling the world.” That sentiment is entirely thanks to Aurelia. She made the experience feel completely tailored to us, turning even the most photographed spots in West Glacier into something that felt uniquely ours. We truly cannot rave about Aurelia enough. We look forward to any excuse to travel to Montana again—just to have her capture all of life’s future milestones.

Ali Cushing Photography

My name is Ali Cushing; a NY-based photographer working in a blended documentary and editorial approach, emphasized with a cinematic method, and a personalized, true to life editing style. I am honored to be entrusted with depicting genuine love, authentic characters, and immortalizing precious memories. I see beauty in the subtle details as much as the wide, epic scene, while I see glory in the mundane in-between moments as much as the heart thudding highs. I am adamant that everyone, of all genders and orientations, any ethnicity, culture, or faith, all shapes, ages, and abilities, are welcome and I’d be delighted to work with you.

Awarded Best of Zola
I couldn’t be happier with my experience working with Ali! She reached out to me on Zola and I am so glad she did. I was impressed with her portfolio and I really loved seeing how she would capture little moments in the weddings she had done. We set up a video call before booking and we clicked. She is very calm and helped with my pre-wedding nerves. She worked with us on a payment plan and she was always very quick to respond to any of my questions. She really listened to what we wanted. She got to the venue early to scout out different shots and came to check in with me a couple of times before we even began taking photos, which I did not expect but was very sweet and considerate of her. When we were taking photos, she really helped to guide the more “posed” photos but she also captured a lot of beautiful candid moments. We had so many guests come up to us and compliment her and that was before we even got the photos back. She sent us our sneak peeks the next day and I couldn’t be more thrilled with the results. She captured so many beautiful moments and her style is exactly what we wanted. Nothing felt “overly edited” just perfectly genuine. I cannot recommend Ali enough. I cannot wait to see the full gallery of photos because I know they will be nothing short of perfect.

Big fan of dive bars, staring at the stars, forever searching for the best french fries, a blissfully cold Diet Coke, and a true midwestern why fly it's only 15 hours. You'll find me often traveling, spending time in nature, collecting rocks and shopping for vintage t-shirts. I love carefree messy in between moments, photographing my daily life on polaroids and film. I've lived a lot of places (Arizona, Arkansas, and Puerto Rico to name a few!) and have so many places that I treasure and feel at home.

When I was in the throes of wedding planning over a year ago, I was reaching out to vendors and putting payments down for June 2, 2024, and was crossing my fingers my deployed fiancé would even be able to attend, thanks to his unpredictable schedule. Amidst the stress (and borderline panic attacks!!) I was having because of that, I was also receiving a lieu of impersonal emails with quotes from photographers. When I got the email back from Jessica, she was the only one who answered with excitement and personality, and gave me a sense that this was supposed to be FUN. All this wedding planning was a very lucky sort of stress, and she didn’t make me feel like I was just some box to check off in her inbox— she was personable and friendly, and I liked her immediately. For the course of the year, Jessica and I kept up with eachother with texts, messages, and Instagram— and I felt like she was already a friend when June arrived. Even after her 12 hour journey to Virginia, she was full of energy and ready to go. She helped adjust some coordination timelines and caught things that I otherwise wouldn’t have. She hung out with my rambunctious family all weekend, witnessing our love and laughter, WIDE range of personalities, and even some sisterly tiffs. Honestly, she whole-heartedly became part of our crew. She ran everything past me when it came to details. Duke and I are not people who are comfortable in front of a camera, and I LOVED having her specifically tell us what to do to look good, while still feeling incredibly relaxed and natural around her. Duke and I kept saying she had Jedi powers the way she was able to flip cameras, batteries and equipment seamlessly. I’m writing this while in the airport leaving our honeymoon, and not only did Duke and I, and our families fall in love with Jessica— I still have guests reaching out to me via text to tell me how they hit it off with her on their own, how impressed they were with her ethic, or how they loved pictures from our sneak peek (eeeek!) I am not a girl who naturally feels pretty or comfortable in front of a camera. Jessica gave me the gift of finally experiencing both of those things on our special day. I felt beautiful and at ease. She captured the bridal portraits that I hope my great grandkids will put in their family tree projects for school one day, some of Dukes family and mine meeting for the first time, friends dancing, and our grandparents mingling and giving us their love. Duke and I knew our big white wedding would be our one chance to have everyone we love in one place. We are well aware of the rarity in that, and the fact that we don’t have much longer with some of those people we love. We’re well aware that these are the photos Duke and I will be looking at with our grandchildren when we’re old and grey, thinking about “the good ol’ days.” These photos are all we will have left one day of the people we love so fiercely, and these versions of ourselves. We will endlessly be grateful for Jessica of her effort and the labor that went into photographing a weekend like ours. She captured every single aspect of us and those we love, and above all us, gave us the gift of memory. 3 Faith and Duke

Hi! My name is Mae, and I live in Brooklyn with my girlfriend, our two dogs Apollo and Bia, her cat Gigi and my lizard, Basil! I’ve always been passionate about capturing moments as authentically and magically as possible, and as i’ve settled more into this career path, I love that i’ve landed in a place where I have the privilege to capture and preserve people’s love stories. Weddings and elopements are so distinctly and uniquely human, and it’s truly the biggest honor to be trusted to document them.

Awarded Best of Zola
Mae was an absolute pleasure to work with. I knew I liked her from the very first call. She was thorough and asked good questions to make sure she could capture what we wanted. I love the vintage-inspired look of the photos and video. She communicated when she said she would and I always received a quick response to any questions or messages I had. On the wedding day, I couldn’t imagine anyone who would make it as special as Mae did. She was more than a photographer- she helped me put on myself shoes, hyped up all the little details I stressed months over, and was just such a joy. I cannot recommend Mae enough. I loved all the photos and the video made me cry. Mae is the type of person you want to be friends with after everything is done. Trust me, book Mae!!

My name is Katelyn, I’m 26, and I’m based out of the Portland, Oregon area! I am beautifully, unapologetically, and loudly queer, and my pronouns are she/her. On any given day, you can find me meditating and reading by the water somewhere. I’m deeply into all things spiritual—moon phases, energy work, astrology, you name it—and I try to bring that sense of intention and magic into everything I do. Photography has been my outlet, my healing space and my rebellion for as long as i can remember. But I am inspired by all forms of art. I write poetry, I paint, I make pottery. I love making playlists.

Wow — if I can give you one piece of advice for wedding planning, it’s to hire Katelyn as your wedding photographer. I cannot say enough about how incredible it was to work with Katelyn — from day 1, her enthusiasm and amazing approach shone through for my wife and I. As a queer couple, it was important to us to find a photographer who would be able to represent our partnership and our love authentically. And, as people who are usually VERY uncomfortable in front of the camera, it was also important to us that we had a photographer who made us comfortable and helped us feel natural for our photos. Katelyn was all this and much more — she gave us amazing cues and direction that turned into the most beautiful and natural photos possible. We really appreciated how none of the cues she gave were gender-specific, and she never made us feel like we were “cosplaying a straight couple” — as a queer couple, Katelyn really captured our essence and dynamic relationship. And, she made the process so unbelievably fun!!! Since our wedding, I’ve received countless compliments on our photos, and there is no question that Katelyn was one of the most amazing highlights of the day. We will forever treasure the incredible engagement and wedding photos she captured — thank you Katelyn for everything!!!! We could not recommend her more :)

I'm a Bay Area native with over 12 years in the commercial photography realm. I got my start on the beaches of Los Angeles back in 2012 shooting commercial swimwear campaigns for some of the best designers in swim and fashion. That opened the door to countless opportunities with modeling agencies, reality television, and fashion design. In 2018 I made the move back up north to San Francisco where I grew up. With a wide network of friends and family up here, I found myself catapulted into the Wedding and Elopement industry - and absolutely loved it! I'm honored when I get to be a part of one of the best days of a couple's life together.

Roman Photography

I’m a professionally trained photographer and a graduate of a professional photography program. I spent 10 years as a photojournalist covering news, sports, and political campaigns, learning to anticipate moments, stay calm under pressure, work fast in changing light, and capture real emotion without being obtrusive. That documentary foundation is what I bring to weddings. For 25 years, I’ve photographed weddings as a wedding photojournalist, focused on authentic moments, real interactions, and the in-between details. For portraits, I keep things artistic and natural with gentle direction, and family photos organized.

Roman Photography was the perfect choice for our wedding photography needs. From our very first interaction, Roman's communication was comprehensive, timely and incredibly helpful as we planned the details of our small, backyard ceremony. We had never hired a photographer before, and he was very helpful in asking us questions and sharing information proactively. On the day of, Roman captured the event seamlessly - he knew exactly when to step back and let moments unfold naturally, and when to jump in to get the perfect shot. We're so grateful that he noticed us FaceTiming my grandmother so we have beautiful photos of her presence, even though she couldn't attend in person. The final photos are absolutely stunning, and the value for the quality of work was excellent. We couldn't be happier with our decision to work with Roman Photography and highly recommend them to any couple planning their wedding.

The plan started out as a trip to a US national park, but as we kept changing plans and evolving what we wanted, Sam and Karly were always so there for it and incredibly supportive. We eventually landed on a three day excursion around Switzerland. Having only had short planning conversations over the course of a year, I was a little nervous to see how we all vibed in person, but there was no need. Quickly, it felt like traveling around with friends. From seeing great spots for spontaneous photos to pizza and bouncing on a trampoline in a wedding dress and road tripping across the country, Sam and Karly really made this the experience of a lifetime. I couldn't imagine this elopement with anyone but them!

I'm Katlyn! I'm a mama to two sweet babies, a wife to my high school sweetheart, and a photographer of 5 years. I have an obsession with the little moments (sunsets, stargazing, watching waves crash on the beach) call me cliché! I'm an elopement and wedding photographer in Montana & Southern California for couples with a deep connection who are truly madly in love with each other. My clients understand the importance of those quiet, intimate moments but also know how to have a great time and bring the best out of each other!

Loretta is top notch! She is SO thoughtful and professional. She makes me feel so comfortable when she is taking photos. She is by far the most talented and well respected photographer I’ve ever worked with. Loretta directs extremely well too. I never fee awkward or like I don’t know what to do when she is there. I have always loved the photos that I’ve done with Loretta. I can’t wait for many, many more!
