“Wedding was 1/9/2020 . Our officiant didn't add our ring exchange to our ceremony. (We had a buddist ceremony); The chaos of a strict photography schedule kept my husband and I busy. But I was so upset that moment was not going to be in photos. Dom somehow knew I needed that moment to complete. He snuck it in before our cake cutting and I was overjoyed to have him officiate that for us. He was spot on with the playlist and songs matching to our chosen genre. He did more than we asked for even when our venue coordinator dropped the ball on us with not posting seating charts. “We found Brandon through our wedding planner Christine Garrison of CMG Events. She suggested him because we were interested in having someone play acoustic guitar and singing during the wedding. After chatting with Brandon, we hired him to play the guitar for our ceremony, act as a wandering minstrel during the cocktail hour, and DJ the entire event. Our ceremony took place outdoors in an open lawn area. Brandon did a great job with setting up the sound. Everyone was able to hear both us and the officiant clearly. The acoustic rendition of Heartbeats (Jose Gonzalez) and Wildflowers (Tom Petty) he played for our processional and recessional were beautiful and really set the mood we were looking for. Brandon also did a great job DJing the event. He was able to take a small number of songs and expand the playlist to not only fit our tastes but keep the party hopping. We had expected that we would have minimal dancing and that our crowd would mostly just sit around chatting. However, Brandon was able to keep the energy up and the dance floor going throughout the night. It far exceeded our expectations and made the night really memorable. He was extremely professional throughout the planning process. We had several calls leading up to the wedding, and he made it easy to communicate what we were looking for in the event. We added songs to a few different playlists which he used as a jumping off point. He also provided suggestions for all the important moments (e.g., processionals, recessional, first dance, grand entrance). His contract and other documents were also clear and always sent promptly. On the day of Brandon arrived on time for set up and did a great job with all aspects (sound, DJing, acoustic performance, and lighting) of the event. He looked extremely professional and was communicative throughout the day, constantly checking in with the planner and us to make sure everything was going well. If he wasn’t sure about a song, he’d ask before playing it. Best of all, he was extremely reasonably priced. His assistant, Josh, was also very nice and did a great job.”

“The photographer, videographer, and photo booth was absolutely perfect and our guests had a blast! However, even after going through the work of submitting a Spotify play list and adding do not play songs or DJ played the wrong version of our first dance song (I checked and we had the correct version listed on our playlist we sent over), he also played songs from our do not play list to the point I, the bride, came over to ask if he had the wrong list. He admitted he was using songs from the do not play list as he was not paying attention. I would also like to note, though our wedding was more casual, our DJ was dressed in a sloppy manner. His shirt was half untucked from his pants, there were stains on his shirt and pants. Besides a few hiccups, direct Entertainment was wonderful to work with!”

“Seth was the best wedding DJ that we could have hoped for! We first met Seth at a wedding vendor expo event at our reception venue and were immediately impressed by the quality of his sound system and his ability to mix the selected soundtrack live. Seth is very communicative. In our first meeting with Seth, it was already immediately apparent that he was very experienced and very passionate about making our wedding day special and everything that we wanted it to be. We felt very comfortable that he knew what he was doing, and on the day of the wedding he executed flawlessly. As for the preparation work, Seth schedules multiple meetings with you leading up to your wedding day which eases a lot of the nerves heading into busy planning season. Seth also has an app that you can download on your phone which is awesome because it allows you to edit details of your wedding day timeline and playlist on-the-go as we were making decisions during the planning months. On the day of the wedding, Seth came prepared having downloaded all the music that we talked about ahead of time and he kept the dance floor alive ALL NIGHT (over 3 hours). Seth responded to the audience and was able to mix a variety of genres that we had requested (like country, pop, spanish music, musical songs, etc) over various sets across the evening. He also coordinated our photo booth which was a nice touch that all the guests really enjoyed and had a second person stationed there for help all night. We couldn't recommend Seth enough to other couples who are in need of a DJ! Thank you, Seth!”

“When I say that Dylan and the Moon Units MADE our wedding, I am not exaggerating. They not only delivered, the exceeded our already high expectations in every way possible. Music was extremely important for my husband and me, and we knew immediately that we wanted a live band to elevate the evening. We found Dylan and the Moon Units' information online, and after finding that they were very within our budget we reached out and Dylan invited us to one of their gigs in Hollywood. We loved their vibe and booked them. We asked Dylan to play both our ceremony and our reception, as well as play preset playlists for our pre-ceremony and cocktail hour. Now, I must admit, because music was so important for my husband and my special day, we had *very* specific ideas for what we wanted. Dylan was extremely communicative, answering all of my extremely needy and detailed emails in a timely manner and doing everything he could to reassure me that we were in good hands. We made selections from the list of songs they knew, and also asked them to learn about 10 new songs for us, ranging from unique arrangements of existing songs to deep cuts from 90's movies. Dylan's communication was warm, expeditious, and professional, and I felt really well taken care of. At our wedding, though, is where they exceeded our expectations. The live music they played was amazing, and set the tone for our wedding in the exact way we were hoping for. At the reception, they kept the energy up with a perfectly curated playlist of our requests (and we had quite a lot!) songs they knew would keep the party going. Their song choices appealed to the older crowd as well as the Millennial crowd. Dylan even help me set up a surprise performance for my husband, where I sang one of this favorite songs ("Go Cubs Go") with the backing of the Moon Units band. It was an incredibly special moment. And creating special moments was what Dylan and the Moon Units did best. Somehow, they managed to keep the dance floor packed the entire evening. Months after our wedding, our guests have continuously called out Dylan and the Moon Units as an absolute highlight of our wedding, saying that it was musically one of the best weddings they have ever been to. All-in-all, I cannot recommend Dylan and the Moon Units enough. As someone who was VERY specific about the music at my wedding, they exceeded all of our expectations. Book them for your wedding ASAP - you will not be disappointed.”

Not just a DJ who sets up an iPhone or Spotify and lets it ride mindlessly, but a DJ who reads the crowd, takes input from the bride and groom, and uses his skill and best judgement to provide music that gets everyone on the dance floor. Literally everyone at our wedding was on their feet for dancing and loved all the music DJ Trey played! He also was fantastic in making sure all of the music played on their appropriate cues and was well-prepared. He was great to work with for our wedding and we can’t wait to throw another party just so we have an excuse to use DJ Trey again!”
