L + A Union Ceremonies
Rating: 5.0 (10 reviews)
  • Offers 10 ceremony types
  • Starts at $550
  • Serves Thousand Oaks, CA

Hi, I'm Lilian Argueta, a proud Guatemalan American, native Angelina, and the heart behind L+A Union Ceremonies. I’ve always believed in the power of human connection and the importance of honoring it with authenticity, care, and soul. I’ve been a certified officiant since 2017, and my path to this work has been anything but traditional—in the best way. L+A stands for Luz y Amor, light and love in Spanish. It’s more than a name; it’s a belief system. I believe we are all energy, all light…and when two people come together in love, something truly magical happens. That magic deserves to be witnessed and celebrated with intention & creativity.

Awarded Best of Zola
We are so grateful we found Lilian of L A Union Ceremonies to officiate our wedding. Though she’s based in SoCal, she flew up to San Francisco for our ceremony, and from start to finish she was an absolute joy to work with. When looking for an officiant, we wanted someone non-traditional to match the kind of ceremony we envisioned - bride and groom walking down the aisle together, no wedding processional or religious elements, and none of the “standard” wedding language that didn’t fit us. Lilian put us completely at ease. She clearly cares deeply about her work and pours so much love into the process, from having us each complete a thoughtful questionnaire to custom-writing a ceremony script that felt like “us,” to helping along the way with things like last-minute support for vows. On the day of, she was the calming presence we needed - talking us through our nerves right beforehand so we could truly enjoy the moment. Her attention to detail continued all the way through, even down to sending us a photo of her mailing off our signed marriage license application. And afterward, she surprised us with a thoughtful keepsake that showed just how much she goes the extra mile for her couples. If you want a true partner in creating a meaningful, personalized ceremony, Lilian should absolutely be your go-to. We can’t recommend her highly enough.

I'm a layman preacher at 5 different Adventist churches & am registered with the State of Arkansas as an officiant. I serve any destination you want- Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, & Illinois more specifically. My wife is also a wedding photographer: Alina Alexandra Photography. My sermon to you & your guests at the wedding will be Christ-centered with a focus on unity, one-ness, & a covenant you two will embark on as you lead your future family until death do you part. Or until Jesus comes back beforehand.

We chose Christian Officiants for our ceremony and couldn't have been happier with our decision. From our first conversation, he was quick to respond and genuinely kind throughout the entire planning process. He took time to understand what we wanted and crafted a detailed ceremony that felt personal to us. Born in Australia, lived in Scotland, I've now been in the US for 10 years, I presided over my first wedding in 2016. Being asked by two of my oldest friends changed my life forever. But I was crazy nervous. That first ceremony elicited something inside of me I never expected. I LOVED, love! I had a feeling of pride and community I'd never experienced before. More and more friends asked me to officiate their weddings over the years until I finally said "frick it, maybe this is my thing." Becoming an officiant has been one of the most rewarding things I've done, experiencing your marriage ceremony with you is now something I look forward to.

Thank you so much Sam! Sam blended a perfect script together for our ceremony by just asking a few questions. An amazing story of love came of it, and we couldn’t have asked for a better officiant to help share it with our friends and family. Sam made it comfortable and fun throughout the process, starting from the one on one video pre interview, to writing the script for the ceremony and sharing it with us, to the day of the ceremony where it was executed superbly. Thanks Sam, truly appreciate your contribution to our special day!

Ceremonies by Robbie
Rating: 5.0 (4 reviews)
  • Offers 9 ceremony types
  • Starts at $800
  • Serves Thousand Oaks, CA

Robbie works with couples to create wedding ceremonies that feel personal, grounded, and true to who they are. As an ordained, non-denominational minister with decades of experience, his approach is rooted in ministry, pastoral counseling, and working closely with people through meaningful life moments. He takes the time to get to know each couple so the ceremony reflects their relationship, not something templated or generic. From structure and flow to vows, he guides the entire process so everything feels clear, natural, and meaningful. Premarital support is available if desired, but never required.

When our original officiant flaked out a little less than a week before our wedding, I was in full panic bridezilla mode. To us, the ceremony was the root of the entire wedding, the moment everything else was built around, the whole purpose of why we were all even there. I was overwhelmed, stressed, and honestly heartbroken. Then we found Robbie through a coworker of mine (Robbie had officiated their wedding a few years ago). From the very first call, he spoke to me so rationally that I could actually breathe again. He took the time to reassure us, walk us through our options, and immediately began moving things around in his schedule to make it all work out. The situation we brought to him wasn’t simple or convenient, but he took it on with so much intention and care. Even though everything was last-minute, he never made us feel rushed, secondary, or like we were just another booking. What’s even more incredible is that even though he only knew us for about 5 days, the ceremony felt like he had known our story for years. We will always be grateful to Robbie for stepping in when we needed it most. Just a side note, despite everything he had to do to make it work for us, Robbie never tried to upsell us or charge extra for our last-minute request. A few other officiants we spoke with before him said they would need to add a few hundred dollars as a “late fee,” but Robbie didn’t do that at all. I don't even think it crossed his mind. Honestly, though, he was such a blessing that we chose to give him more voluntarily, because we truly felt he deserved it.

What I love about being an officiant is getting to know my couples. What their hopes and dreams are as individuals and as a couple. My ceremonies are always as individual as my couples. Every relationship is special and unique and I enjoy creating and sharing how you both got to this day, this moment. Your Story. The Best Love Story. Ever.

Working with Renne was just lovely. From our first meeting, she was so warm, down to earth and easy to talk to. She immediately had us feeling at ease with her genuine care. Our wedding ceremony was a perfect story of us and our love story. She managed to capture the uniqueness and beauty of our relationship and our loved ones were in tears. It set the stage for such a meaningful celebration. She printed out our ceremony and vows and we keep them in our wedding box. We open it every year and read it together as a way of reflecting on our love and remembering our values and promises we made to each other. Your ceremony doesn't have to be "cookie cutter" or "run of the mill." I work with all my couples to present a ceremony that truly reflects your relationship. My goal is to ensure that you and your guests experience a meaningful and entertaining wedding ceremony to start your special day.

Pamela did an amazing job creating a meaningful ceremony for us on a short-time frame, was incredibly communicative, and altogether a wonderful officiant! She was very gracious with how scattered some of the planning went and made us both feel so comfortable, which meant the world as a young queer couple. Her presentation of the ceremony truly felt like it reflected us as a couple, and our family members who were in attendance were amazed that she had crafted a ceremony that felt so perfect to us just from talking on the phone with us a couple of times. Absolutely would recommend:)

Lawrence E. Adjah, MBA, M.Ed, M.Div.
Rating: 5.0 (1 review)
  • Offers 8 ceremony types
  • Starts at $2,250
  • Serves Thousand Oaks, CA

Lawrence E. Adjah, MBA, M.Ed, M.Div. is a pastor, marriage counselor and best-selling author on relationships. Lawrence specializes in marriage counseling and one-on-one spiritual advisory. He approaches his guidance in a biblically based, structured, relatable, and systematic manner, with clear owned outcomes and next steps. Lawrence will guide you through the wedding planning process with warmth, intentionality and clarity. Lawrence offers a wide array of services to guide you through your wedding and beyond. He provides both wedding officiating services and vow renewals, as well as pre-marital counseling and ongoing marriage counseling.

My husband and I worked with Pastor Lawrence for a year of faith-based pre-marital counseling and had an amazing experience. We, like many couples, went into our first session thinking we’d already discussed the most important topics and we’d maybe need to do 3 formal pre-marital counseling sessions. Our first session was so impactful that we immediately decided that we wanted a full year of counseling. That decision, we believe, completely changed the trajectory of our marriage. Pastor Lawrence asked difficult, thought-provoking questions that helped us see our relationship (with each other and with God) in new ways, and each session left us feeling better equipped for marriage than we ever expected. His depth of knowledge, approachability, and ability to guide meaningful, relevant conversations aimed at aligning us as one—even when we thought we had nothing new to discuss—was truly a gift. We are so grateful for the wisdom and encouragement he poured into us throughout this process and would highly recommend him to any couple who is looking to build a strong, Christ-centered foundation going into their marriage.
