I had a very short engagement and wasn’t even sure if I’d have time for a makeup trial. I’m glad I did though because I didn’t look my best after the trial. Before I could ruminate on it or say anything though Diva jumped and sent me a message saying that she knew we could do better. She went and got new products that suited me, which made me feel so special. I absolutely loved how I looked on my wedding day but even more was so grateful to have a makeup artist who truly cared and could correct things I couldn’t put into words. That and she did a fabulous job on my mother and MOH (who has the opposite coloring of me and said it was the best glam she’s ever had). It wouldn’t be LA if our venue wasn’t in a strip mall! The space is in the historic Cahuenga pass, with our venue located less than 5 minutes from Universal Studios, City Walk and the Hollywood Bowl. Our Venue is a 3500 square foot space, complete with a 2500 square foot ballroom, commercial kitchen, bar, stage, and lighting/ sound systems that are equipped for live music. The venue has highly stylized areas, but the main ballroom is an open concept space that can be molded for anything from rehearsal dinners to cocktail hours and receptions.

I attended a wedding reception here, and I cannot say enough good things about Little Light Venue. The venue is beautifully designed and has so much character. The space itself is huge and adaptable, so it’s great for different types of events. The owners Nataly and Jessica are amazing hosts and really go above and beyond to make things run perfectly. There is truly no other place like it, and I’ve already recommended the space to multiple people.

Selecting Megan for my hair (and makeup!) on my big day was the best choice I ever could have made. Big truth: YOU WANT TO LOOK YOUR BEST! For the moment and for the memories (what other day do you have so many photos of you?!?!?). Megan made me look and feel sensational (if I do say so myself lol). Before the wedding we went through a detailed trial run, which not only made me SO excited, it also set my mind at ease (I’m a natural planner and I want to know the details!) She took my inspirational photos and brought them to life with her artistry, which ultimately was better than what I could have imagined. That’s what you want. Someone who will listen to you, then create something even better. She is professional through and through. She has years of knowledge to bring to the table. She even worked on my hair color the months leading up to the wedding to get that right (these grays and highlights don’t fix themselves and have the ability to glisten in the sunlight!). Here’s another thing - you want the people around you on your big day to uplift you and honestly, be people you WANT to hang out with. They are a part of the experience. Having Megan there was fun! I knew was in good hands AND she was a joy to be with. Really important people! Whenever I look at those photos or think back on those morning memories, it brings a huge smile to my face! I highly recommend!

Kate has such beautiful flower arrangements and is very clever in putting various flowers and foliage together to create unique pieces. I love that her arrangements have a “wild” look to them, it’s what makes them so interesting to look at, even more so to photograph. I found Kate through a close friend of mine in London, which was perfect, being British, I wanted a British touch to our London to California Wedding. My Husband and I got married in April 2019. Our Cocktail Hour and Reception Dinner was in Redondo Beach at Shade Hotel and our Ceremony was held at a Church in Long Beach. Kate accommodated and welcomed our own visions and helped us make our imagination possible. We had so many compliments, the ceremony flowers, the bouquets and boutonnières, the reception decor and even cake flowers which added a simple yet elegant finish. From the beginning planning to the Wedding day, we couldn’t of had our experience any other way. We would highly recommend Kate, she is wonderful, passionate in her field, as well as calm and confident in delivering her work. Thank you Kate for everything! All communication leading up the wedding was so efficient and accommodating (we wanted karaoke at our reception and he was even able to add-on a keyboard too). During our cocktail hour, dinner, and speeches, he seamlessly managed every step. And as the party amped up, he was so patient with my guests and all of our unhinged karaoke requests. Seth was the best wedding DJ that we could have hoped for! We first met Seth at a wedding vendor expo event at our reception venue and were immediately impressed by the quality of his sound system and his ability to mix the selected soundtrack live. Seth is very communicative. In our first meeting with Seth, it was already immediately apparent that he was very experienced and very passionate about making our wedding day special and everything that we wanted it to be. We felt very comfortable that he knew what he was doing, and on the day of the wedding he executed flawlessly. As for the preparation work, Seth schedules multiple meetings with you leading up to your wedding day which eases a lot of the nerves heading into busy planning season. Seth also has an app that you can download on your phone which is awesome because it allows you to edit details of your wedding day timeline and playlist on-the-go as we were making decisions during the planning months. On the day of the wedding, Seth came prepared having downloaded all the music that we talked about ahead of time and he kept the dance floor alive ALL NIGHT (over 3 hours). Seth responded to the audience and was able to mix a variety of genres that we had requested (like country, pop, spanish music, musical songs, etc) over various sets across the evening. He also coordinated our photo booth which was a nice touch that all the guests really enjoyed and had a second person stationed there for help all night. We couldn't recommend Seth enough to other couples who are in need of a DJ! Thank you, Seth!

We’ve been lucky to know and work with Randall for a few years. When we finally decided to make things “official” we knew we wanted someone that does great work, that we trust, and would make us feel comfortable. We wanted our day to feel like a relaxed family event and Randall helped with that and so much more. He suggested possible locations that would meet our dream event and times to maximize the best lighting for the area. Once we settled on the location and date, he maintained excellent communication in preparation to the event to properly flesh out the day’s timetable, day of logistics, and post. On the day of our wedding he expertly directed us and our families, using the natural lighting to capture the perfect shots. We would have been lost without him, especially since no one knew how to assist with bustling my dress. During our dinner reception he seamlessly directed restaurant staff to assist in transitioning between meals/dessert/toast for more amazing shots. After the wedding he kept us updated on next steps for our pictures. Randall is truly a gem and I would recommend him to anyone looking for someone special to capture their day.

He really listens and considers your dream vision. After the consultation, he provides the type of florals and the inspo look altogether, which is SO helpful. I wanted spring, pops of color. I also desired to include my love for the ocean into my wedding. How do you combine all those elements to a ranch wedding? A rustic coastal wedding! The Oviatt made planning and enjoying our wedding exceptionally easy, and we would not hesitate to recommend it to another couple. In fact, two of our friends who'd recently gotten married at The Oviatt were the ones to recommend us the venue in the first place. They did not steer us wrong. The initial touring and on-boarding process was seamless and attentive. We got clear answers to all of our questions and concerns, and the team had no trouble making adjustments as things evolved. The venue-related fees were all extremely reasonable for what you're getting, and we felt it was a tremendous value. If you are someone who's overwhelmed by the planning of it all or doesn't have it in you to evaluate the hundreds of vendors out there, The Oviatt can streamline things through their vetted preferred vendors list. We used this extensively and had a similarly excellent experience with everyone we hired, from catering to photographers to floral. We were also able to find vendors from this list that were able to realize our vision while meeting our budget, which was healthy and had some breathing room but was not exorbitant. We had a lot of extremely specific and arguably unusual requests that the venue team was happy to accommodate, even the week of. They were also there to troubleshoot when we encountered inevitable obstacles during the planning process. The venue itself is as stunning as the photos promise. They've recently been doing some historic refurbishment/restoration work, and the results speak for themselves. We wanted an art deco jewel box, and we got that and more. The penthouse elevator made for a grand entrance statement, and the furnishings gave the proceedings opulence to spare. While there was some concern with how we'd fit 90 guests into the interior spaces for cocktail hour while the terrace was turned over for the reception, we found it actually wasn't any trouble at all. The upper deck remained available and allowed for natural crowd control. The scene was lively and exciting, to be sure, but never uncomfortable. We really can't say enough kind things. The staff on the day were incredible, the attention to detail was immaculate, and everything went as perfectly as one can hope.

I’m not even sure where to begin to describe how amazing Events by McKenna is at what they do!! McKenna is the most kind, helpful, and enthusiastic person to assist you during such an important time in your life. She made sure everything went perfectly on our wedding day and every day leading up to it! When we first started our wedding planning journey, we only knew where we wanted to have it, and due to the venue location not regularly being used for weddings, we needed to outsource vendors for everything. That's where McKenna came in and helped us out by hand-picking every vendor that she knew would provide the exact things we were looking for. From catering, florals, furniture rentals, DJ, and all the little details, she knew who would be perfect for the job and she was right about every single one! Every time we had a question or a crazy idea, she had an answer right away and she would do everything she could to make it happen. One thing that we were really hoping for was getting a disco ball above our dance floor, but since we were outdoors, it wasn’t looking promising. McKenna was the one who made sure that we got our disco ball, and it was absolutely perfect! That’s just one example of the many ways McKenna ensured our dream wedding would become a reality. On the day of, McKenna and her team were so efficient and handled everything so that my husband and I could relax and focus on ourselves. We got to our venue and everything was already done and ready to start the day! McKenna was amazing at time management throughout the day, and she was so helpful to not only us, but our families, wedding party and guests as well. Everything went perfectly on schedule and all the crazy ideas that we had came to life with no issues! It was truly the best day of our lives and it wouldn’t have been possible without McKenna’s help! We had the pleasure of having The Moon Units perform at our wedding, and they were absolutely amazing! We enjoyed working with Dylan, he was incredibly accommodating and responsive throughout the entire process. From the initial planning stages to our big day, Dylan and the band were very professional, helping us sort out all the specific details well in advance. One of the highlights was when they specially learned a song for our first dance. It was such a personal touch that made the moment unforgettable. They also performed a beautiful acoustic rendition of "Can't Help Falling in Love" for our ceremony, which was perfect. They kept the energy high and the good vibes all night long. Timeliness and thoughtfulness are extremely difficult to juggle when it comes to weddings that have so many moving parts, yet Ingrid’s unique capability to execute on both fronts makes her such an asset to work with. Her consistent, on-the-dot responsiveness completely took care of every single question leading up to the event date, and we never had to worry about getting an answer back on anything, which is so rare and deeply appreciated. We worked with Grand Entrance Affairs on a wedding happening on the Queen Mary, which is known to be a logistically more complex venue in terms of setup and weather conditions on the water. DJ Trey is THE BEST DJ!!! I wish we had even more time on the dance floor to keep letting him mix because he’s a genuinely fantastic DJ! Not just a DJ who sets up an iPhone or Spotify and lets it ride mindlessly, but a DJ who reads the crowd, takes input from the bride and groom, and uses his skill and best judgement to provide music that gets everyone on the dance floor. Literally everyone at our wedding was on their feet for dancing and loved all the music DJ Trey played! He also was fantastic in making sure all of the music played on their appropriate cues and was well-prepared. He was great to work with for our wedding and we can’t wait to throw another party just so we have an excuse to use DJ Trey again!
