After moving to Beacon, NY around the same time, it made sense to start an official wedding music business to share their love of music with some of the many happy couples getting married in the Hudson Valley. One thing they love about playing music for weddings is the variety that is required of them. Every gig is different and they all happen on one of the happiest days of the clients' lives!

“If you are currently wedding planning and debating between the elegance of live musicians or the versatility of a DJ, stop looking and hire Justin and Skylark Music immediately. Working with Justin was hands down one of the best decisions we made for our big day. With Skylark, we effectively "had our cake and ate it too." We were initially torn because we wanted the romantic atmosphere of live instruments, but we also wanted a high-energy party with our specific favorite songs (which a band is often limited by). Plus, full bands are insanely expensive. Justin offered the perfect hybrid solution. We were able to have a stunning guitar, violin, and cello trio for our ceremony and cocktail hour, and then transition to Justin DJing the reception. It was the best of both worlds—we saved on the cost of a 10-piece band but sacrificed absolutely nothing in terms of quality or vibe. Beyond the music itself, Justin’s professionalism is unmatched. He walked us through every step of the planning process. But the true test of a vendor is how they handle stress. A couple of months before our wedding, our venue suddenly updated their outdoor music guidelines. We were in a total panic, thinking our ceremony plans were ruined. We let Justin know, and he responded immediately with a calm, "can-do" attitude. He adjusted the instrumentation to meet the new rules quickly and sorted it out without us having to lift a finger. He also went above and beyond to personalize the evening. We have a close friend who is a singer, and we wanted her to perform a couple of songs during the reception. Justin didn't hesitate; he coordinated directly with her to ensure the audio levels were perfect and the logistics were seamless. It ended up being such a special moment, and Justin made it happen effortlessly. And then, there was the party. Justin transitioned to MC/DJ duties and read the crowd perfectly. Because we chose the DJ route for the reception, we got to hear the original versions of all our favorite tracks. The dance floor was absolutely wild all night long. The energy was so high that at one point, while we were taking portraits outside, our photographer actually stopped and told us, “There is literally a rave going on inside.” From the elegant strings and the special guest performance to the absolute rager at the end, Justin executed everything perfectly. “Our wedding weekend at Black Walnut Farm was nothing short of extraordinary. I had always dreamed of more than just a single day or a few hours of celebration. I imagined a full weekend surrounded by our favorite people, celebrating a love I had hoped for my entire life. Black Walnut Farm made that dream a reality in the most magical way. My fiancé and I got engaged in June 2024 and waited until August to begin planning so we could savor being engaged. Black Walnut Farm was our first venue visit. During their open house, we explored the property while enjoying signature cocktails and bites, and we immediately felt at home meeting Jim. His warmth, charisma, and genuine spirit set the tone for everything that followed. The estate is breathtaking. Acres of beauty, an enchanting forest, whimsical gardens, and a farmhouse filled with stunning, eclectic antiques. Within minutes, we knew our search was over. As we left, Jim smiled, saying he could tell we had found “the one.” The planning process was seamless and stress-free. As someone who goes with the flow, I was amazed by how organized and supportive the team was. Timelines, documents, and communication were clear and thoughtful. Sarah, co-owner and Jim’s partner, made the experience effortless. While the venue is largely a la carte, Sarah provides a curated list of trusted vendors so you never feel lost. Together, Sarah and Jim are an unmatched team. We chose the weekend package, allowing us and six guests to stay in the farmhouse from Thursday through Monday. Walking in felt like stepping into a dream. We were greeted with a handwritten card, a charcuterie board, and champagne. Fresh banana bread, muffins, and cookies were displayed, the refrigerator stocked with snacks, drinks, and s’mores essentials, and a bar cart held homemade old fashioneds. Every room included robes and fresh water by the bedside, and fireplaces were ready with stacked firewood. Our honeymoon suite was spacious and cozy, with its own fireplace, sitting area, and clawfoot tub. Black Walnut Farm even created a custom flag with our names and named a tree in our honor, a meaningful and unforgettable touch. On Friday evening, we hosted our rehearsal dinner for fifty-five guests in the barn, which perfectly blends rustic elegance with antique details and warmth. The staff’s pride and attention to detail were evident, and Jim, Sarah, or Lindsey were always nearby to ensure everything ran smoothly. After dinner, my bridesmaids and I returned to the farmhouse for a cozy night by the fire watching Father of the Bride. Our wedding day was pure magic. We got ready together in a sun-filled room, sharing laughter and happy tears. We exchanged vows in the forest, a fairytale setting. The celebration continued in the barn with cocktail hour, dinner, dancing, and dessert. Guests loved the barn loft, complete with a photo booth and a phone for leaving messages. Although the weather prevented our planned bonfire hour, Sarah and Jim graciously extended our time in the barn, ensuring the night remained just as special. This weekend was the best experience of our lives. Our friends and family still talk about how incredible it was. We are endlessly grateful to Sarah, Jim, Miss Lily, and the entire Black Walnut Farm team for creating a wedding weekend we will cherish forever.”

“The day we met with Erica, we knew she was the right choice! She was booked for our date already, but she highly recommended Amanda as lead photographer who is part of her Sweet Alice Studios Team and Erica then edits the photos! I cannot stress how superb Erica’s communication style is; she is quick to respond to emails and with kindness every time. You can tell how much she cares about her clients and how much she truly loves her job! She was essential for creating our timeline and her professional wisdom was so helpful throughout the process! We met with Amanda for our engagement shoot and hit it off immediately! She was so helpful for two people who are shy in front of the camera, and she truly captured our personalities with ease! We met with Amanda 2 weeks or so before the wedding to talk through our wants and to give us some guidance on some details. On the wedding day Amanda and second photographer Debbie were wonderful!! They arrived early, were open to any and all last-minute photo ideas, and available when we needed them. They were a perfect mix of calm and joyous throughout the whole day! So kind and efficient, they allowed us to really soak in the little moments on our wedding day. My husband even mentioned that Amanda gave him a little pep talk accompanied by some tissues prior to the ceremony and later she gave us the biggest hug after our first dance (which he had been so anxious about!). The team genuinely makes you feel seen, heard, and like we had some extra friends on our big day there to support us. Some of our favorite shots are little unposed moments that captured the authentic joy our day gave us! Then we got about 100 sneak-peek photos within 3 days of our wedding date (mind you the team had at least 3 weddings that weekend) and we were totally blown away! The vividness of the Fall foliage was STUNNING. My friends/family raved about our photos, and I cannot wait to hang prints of them all over our house! I am recommending Sweet Alice to any bride I cross paths with because this team is just that good!”

“We love working at Full Moon Resort, Its such a beautiful venue! They have the perfect wooded ceremony spot, but also has open fields to use or in case of bad weather you can get married in the barn or the ceremony tent, they also use the barn throughout their weekend weddings for Rehearsal Dinners, breakfast & lunch. & then you have the pavilion which is a beautiful open and airy room that is meant for the reception (its nice that although your guests are there for the weekend you get to save this space for the main event instead of having to repeat a location) They also have lodging for many, with a pool and the grounds are beautiful. We work with Morgan, Nikki, and Kayla (along with many of the other staff members) and they are all aways great to work with, (they know how to work with as a team with hired vendors like us) which makes it more enjoyable and stress-free for all! We are a florist/decorating company and although we have done some elaborate weddings at full moon, you actually don't need to go crazy on florals and decor as the venue itself is beautiful and surrounded by nature.”

“Lynette and Bryndon are the best around! I used them for both my photo and video, and they give you nothing but perfection! Everything came out better than I expected. They arrived on time if not early. They were very respectful in the church. They learned my entire bridal party’s names so instead of saying “you” and pointing, they said their actual names. They were very encouraging to my husband and I throughout the day, and very helpful with anything we needed. They also were very helpful before the wedding day. Lynette helped me figure out timing for the day, and that truly helped it run smoothly and on time. They gave us a large “sneak peak” within two weeks of the wedding, and then had the entire wedding album back around 3 months. The videos came back about a month and a half after the wedding. They shot my cousins wedding back in 2021, and my friends wedding in 2023 so by my wedding they truly felt like the are apart of my family. I highly recommend pioneer media for your photography and videography needs!!”
