Beacon, NY

  • Photojournalistic style

We’re Hudson Valley and Catskills wedding photographers who specialize in intimate celebrations filled with connection and emotion. Our focus is on real moments, beautiful light, and photos that feel like you. Whether you’re planning a cozy backyard wedding or an adventurous elopement in the mountains, we’ll capture it with care and creativity.

I first met Megan and Kenneth through working an event that they photographed where I work. I knew instantly that I wanted to work with them for my wedding as it just felt so warm and relaxing to be in their presence. My husband and I wanted to feel like ourselves and have fun with the photos and that is exactly what they delivered. I was never stressed about the photos or the video because I knew Megan and Kenneth had it completely covered. They were extremely responsive over email and zoom calls in the months before the wedding and would answer all questions promptly. They even provided extremely helpful suggestions and built the photography timeline for the wedding so it never felt like we were running behind or losing time. Overall I cannot recommend Megan and Kenneth enough! It was an absolutely wonderful experience and we definitely will work with them again for whatever photo needs we have down the line.

Skylark Music
Rating: 5.0 (51 reviews)
  • Band or Ensemble
  • Serves Beacon, NY

Jesse and Justin have been playing music together since they met performing in a band at Disneyland in 2001. After moving to Beacon, NY around the same time, it made sense to start an official wedding music business to share their love of music with some of the many happy couples getting married in the Hudson Valley. One thing they love about playing music for weddings is the variety that is required of them. Every gig is different and they all happen on one of the happiest days of the clients' lives!

Awarded Best of Zola
We could not have been happier with Skylark Music they were incredible to work with! From the very beginning, Justin spent months helping us think through every detail—offering great suggestions and thoughtful input that really helped set the tone for each part of the day. For our wedding, we had the Skylark ensemble play live music during the ceremony and cocktail hour, and they were absolutely fantastic. The live jazz and covers created the perfect atmosphere—elegant but still relaxed and fun. When it was time for dinner and the reception, Justin seamlessly transitioned to his DJ setup, keeping the energy flowing with an amazing mix of songs that got everyone on the dance floor. Having both live music and a DJ through Skylark was one of the best decisions we made—it gave us the best of both worlds and made the whole evening feel special and dynamic. We can’t recommend Justin and Skylark Music enough!

Rabbi Brent Chaim Spodek
Rating: 5.0 (11 reviews)
Beacon, NY
  • Officiant
  • Offers 9 ceremony types
  • Starts at $3,600

It’s not 1952 anymore - nobody is scandalized that people live together before marriage, and thankfully, nobody is getting married because single women don’t have economic agency. So what does it mean for a modern couple to get married? We often think in terms of things we won’t do: we won’t leave, we won’t stray. Those are minimum requirements, not aspirations. The question of marriage is what will you do when - inevitably - love feels distant, and you are hurt or disappointed? I work with couples of all faith backgrounds who are as serious about their marriage as they are about their wedding and are ready to address that question.

Rabbi Brent offers an outstanding program that my wife and I completed before he married us. We spent meaningful time not just with the Rabbi, but with each other in our own time to help write our ketubah.  The ketubah signing and ceremony he lead for us was moving, beautiful, and so powerful for us. Our attendees were also quite impressed! I’d recommend Rabbi Brent to anyone- for weddings, or just any service he offers. He’s a great human being on top of being a fantastic Rabbi, and I look forward to keeping in touch with him.

We have combined families and now as a family of 7 (three dogs, two cats) we have become an unstoppable force. We both share the same passion for photography, capturing the beauty all around us and making magic happen. Our dog Lucy, embodies love, kindness and poise. We couldn’t imagine naming our business after anyone but her. That’s how Love, Lucy Photography came to be.

From the moment we first reached out to Love, Lucy Photography, Bethany and Raquel were incredibly responsive, helpful, and friendly. Their communication style put us at ease throughout the entire wedding planning process. We knew we made the right decision when we met for our engagement session! On the day of our wedding, they went above and beyond to keep us calm and relaxed, allowing us to truly be present and soak in all the special moments. The quality of their work is outstanding - they captured the day in a way that brings us right back to the magic of that day whenever we look at the photos. We were thrilled that they were able to capture all the shots we requested, delivering the final gallery to us in a very timely manner (2 weeks!!).

Rating: 5.0 (9 reviews)
Beacon, NY
  • Planner
  • Offers 7 services
  • Starts at $1,400

While planning events as a side hustle for over a decade, I have also been a nonprofit event coordinator, farmer, and music festival planner. My background gives me a unique perspective on each wedding I plan. Sustainability, Inclusivity and Couple Advocacy are extremely important to me. Some fun facts: Leo with Taurus Moon and Libra Rising, ENFP, a Peacemaker, and I love a good personality quiz. I'm a sucker for fashion, and like to joke that ! can smell a good consignment/vintage shop. I had a wedding Pinterest 8 years before I even met my husband, and I will do anything in my power to give you the wedding you want.

We had a saga of a wedding day, which included 250 guests and spanned 3 venues in downtown Manhattan, NYC. We began working with Kris on a weekly basis starting three months before our wedding. With so much left to be done, we were in desperate need of her professional guidance! Kris assisted us in securing last-minute venue/vendor details and navigated us through all the easily-over looked logistics of the wedding day. She gave honest feedback on how our ideas could be realistically executed, and presented us with reasonable alternatives when needed. Because of her professional guidance and get-s***-done attitude, we knew we were in solid hands. On the day of the wedding, she made sure everything went as smoothly as possible (aka wrangling decor, vendors, and guests to keep us on schedule). When the inevitable wedding mishap arose, we were reassured that she had the issue handled. We loved our time with Kris and couldn't give her enough credit for all her support. Our only regret was that we didn't hire her sooner and for more services! We will definitely recommend unKAGed events to all our friends and family for planning their future events.

Cappy Hotchkiss Photography
Rating: 5.0 (8 reviews)
Beacon, NY
  • Photographer
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $5,000

I grew up in Amagansett, NY, one town away from Montauk, hanging out at the ocean, riding horses, and photographing my plastic Breyer horse models in different scenarios with my little crappy film camera, always searching for the perfect light. I have since moved on to photographing people with better equipment and I still always search for that perfect light. I now live in the lovely Hudson Valley after a long stint in NYC and Brooklyn where I trained under fashion and editorial photographers before starting my own photography business almost 20 years ago. Full disclosure, I'm a little scared of the ocean.

Cappy Hotchkiss Photography was an absolute delight to work with for our wedding. From the moment we first connected, their communication style was friendly, responsive, and clear. They took the time to understand our vision and made sure we felt at ease throughout the entire process. The quality of their work is truly exceptional - their photos have a nostalgic, natural, and emotional quality that perfectly captured the spirit of our special day. Cappy's skill and creativity shone through, even in the challenging backgrounds of our intimate venue in Greenport. They beautifully documented every moment, from the getting ready shots to the ceremony and reception. The final images are timeless, memorable, and absolutely perfect. We couldn't be happier with the results and highly recommend Cappy Hotchkiss Photography to any couple looking for an exceptional wedding photographer.

The flowers were one of the most important parts of the wedding for me, and Corinne was so fantastic throughout the planning process - providing very detailed mood boards and doing a few planning calls so that we knew we were on the same page. As soon as I got to the venue and saw our bouquets, I was moved to tears. The artistry and beauty of her work is truly unmatched, and we couldn't have chosen a better florist to work with.

From the start, Sara, Jim, and their team cared for us with such warmth and attention. Their online planning portal made everything simple, but what we loved most was how personally they got to know us. They listened to our vision and brought it to life in a way that felt truly meaningful. Throughout the weekend, every detail was handled with so much thought. Our guests felt welcomed, we felt supported, and even when the weather forced last-minute changes, the team stayed calm and kept everything running beautifully. Our wedding was everything we dreamed of and more. Black Walnut Farm isn’t just a stunning venue, it’s a place filled with people who genuinely care about making your day unforgettable. Eddie & Dave were awesome! They were our DJ and emcee for our wedding ceremony and reception on August 31. Eddie was easy to communicate with, and was there for us through the whole experience from beginning to end. The second it was dance time, they got the crowd up and out onto the dance floor in a heartbeat, and most didn’t leave the dance floor until the night was over. DJ was good, knew what songs to play, when to play them, and played the ones I wanted. And the emcee was awesome, funny & easily able to get people involved in whatever!! We also rented a Photo Booth through DJ Double E and it was a HUGE hit!! They’re awesome and I would totally book them again!
