About Rabbi Brent Chaim Spodek

Rabbi Brent Chaim Spodek

It’s not 1952 anymore - nobody is scandalized that people live together before marriage, and thankfully, nobody is getting married because single women don’t have economic agency. So what does it mean for a modern couple to get married? We often think in terms of things we won’t do: we won’t leave, we won’t stray. Those are minimum requirements, not aspirations. The question of marriage is what will you do when - inevitably - love feels distant, and you are hurt or disappointed? I work with couples of all faith backgrounds who are as serious about their marriage as they are about their wedding and are ready to address that question.

I am a couples counselor and rabbi focused on making sure your ceremony is perfect, and your marriage is strong. I work with couples of all faith backgrounds and none, with the belief that just as Hinduism has given the gift of yoga to those who do and those who don’t “identify” as Hindu, and Buddhism has given the gift of mindfulness to those who do and those who don’t “identify” as Buddhist, so too does Judaism give the gift of emotionally intelligent communication as a spiritual practice to to those who do and those who don’t “identify” as Jewish.

In three words: Calm, Empathetic, Supportive

    A Perfect Match

Rabbi Brent Spodek was exceptional throughout our entire wedding process. We first connected with him at another wedding and immediately felt he would be the perfect fit for us; our instincts proved absolutely right. From the beginning, he brought a rare combination of presence, deep listening, and genuine collaboration, working closely with us to shape a ceremony that felt fully aligned with who we are. Over several months, we engaged in a thoughtful and thorough counseling process with him that went far beyond what we expected. He asked poignant, generative questions that sparked meaningful reflection and dialogue between us, and he helped us develop tools for navigating both solvable and unsolvable conflicts. With his guidance, we were able to articulate commitments that truly amplify the best in each of us. Rabbi Brent brings deep compassion and a wealth of knowledge, while remaining warm, personable, and grounded. On the day of our wedding, he gave us the most beautiful ceremony, even when we had some caterpillars trying to steal the spotlight. He made so much of an impression that many of our guests commented on how special he was and that our ceremony really captured who we are. We feel incredibly grateful to have worked with him.

    Rabbi Brent - Wedding

Not only did we have a great experience with Rabbi Brent leading our wedding ceremony but we really got a lot out of our counseling with him the months leading up to our big day. He was accommodating to our unique needs and respected our asks. He also took the time to get to know us and cater sessions to what we needed guidance with … you could tell he really cared. During the ceremonial Ketubah signing before our ceremony, he did a special Hebrew naming for me as well. After the ceremony, he took the time to get to know our family and friends, as he did us. I have no doubt we’ll be calling Rabbi Brent for other services down the line. He does an amazing job!

    Our wedding with Rabbi Brent

Rabbi Brent offers an outstanding program that my wife and I completed before he married us. We spent meaningful time not just with the Rabbi, but with each other in our own time to help write our ketubah.  The ketubah signing and ceremony he lead for us was moving, beautiful, and so powerful for us. Our attendees were also quite impressed! I’d recommend Rabbi Brent to anyone- for weddings, or just any service he offers. He’s a great human being on top of being a fantastic Rabbi, and I look forward to keeping in touch with him.

    Excellent!!

We are so grateful for working with Rabbi Brent in preparation and during our wedding. In the midst of wedding planning, he helped us slow down and plan for our marriage too. Our meetings before the wedding provided us time to talk about our strengths as individuals and as a couple, what we’re excited about for our future in our marriage, and prepare the tools we have for when we are faced with challenges, all with a Jewish lens. And, on the day of, Rabbi Brent created a space of presence and intention for us during our beautiful Ketubah signing and officiated an incredible ceremony. After the wedding, we’ve received so many comments from our guests that the ceremony was one of their favorites they’ve ever been to! It felt like a perfect blend of Jewish traditions while also being very much “us.” Thank you, Rabbi Brent!

    Amazing experience

We had such a great experience working with Rabbi Brent in preparation for our wedding day. Investing the time to focus on the meaning behind getting married really kept us grounded throughout the entire process. Ultimately, our incredibly personal ceremony and powerful ketubah signing were the most special highlights of our wedding day. We are so grateful to have found Rabbi Brent, and will cherish our memories from the day and unique ketubah for a lifetime. Thank you!
