“We can't say enough about how happy we are in having chosen Ostertag as our wedding venue. The grounds are stunning, with various places around the site for ceremonies, photo ops, celebrations, preparation, and beyond. The staff was fantastic to work with. Donna was so kind and flexible, and Terry, our coordinator, was on top of every detail. She helped us make the day exactly what we wanted, and was accommodating to any request to help us customize our multi-cultural wedding day. We chose to have our dinner/reception in the stable, which created the exact cozy and intimate vibe we were going for. Communication was efficient and thorough. We would recommend this venue to anyone looking for a spot in the DMV area. Thank you for making our day so special!”

“Angela and her family have created such a unique, inviting, and beautiful venue. They treat their couples and vendors with such kindness. And are always available if you need anything. As a photographer, I love working at this venue. And there are a wealth of spots for great photo ops. The care that went into the renovation of this property is next level. Even the bathrooms are well designed with vintage pieces! I love all of the unique vintage touches throughout the property. There is ample space for everyone to get ready. “My daughter and her husband chose Milton Ridge for their wedding venue. I live on the opposite coast so I had no opportunity to have a look myself. She and her husband were very happy with the layout of the property and the location. She assured me that staff were warm and friendly as well as very professional and that all questions were addressed promptly and in great detail. My daughter and her husband felt listened to and respected by everyone at Milton Ridge. I was anxious but it was their wedding and they had done a lot of research! I am overjoyed that they chose Milton Ridge for their very special day!! I spoke to many guests and family members that day and evening; everyone had high praise for the couple’s choice of venue. The property is self-contained with a beautiful turn of the century chapel on the lower level of the property and a very large bricked patio on the upper level; with an enormous wooden gazebo at one end and tiered garden area at the opposite end. Indoor or outdoor wedding?? Hard to choose as both areas are sooooo lovely. The Bridal suite and Grooms quarter are in a building adjacent to the chapel on the lower level of the property. Another turn of the century building with Bridal suite, porch and porch swing on the ground level and the Grooms quarters on the 2nd level via a private enclosed stairway; providing total privacy for both parties and their respective entourages. Both areas were very well appointed, comfortable and large; plenty of room for multiple people in each area to get ready for the big day! The Reception Hall was on the upper level with a porch and short stairway leading from the hall to the outdoor patio. The Hall was fresh and bright with plenty of room for DJ, tables, dance floor, bar and buffet without feeling overfilled or crowded. Bride and Groom chose the bar-b-que menu for their dinner; it was beautifully presented, delicious and plentiful. No one left Milton Ridge hungry that evening! The wait staff and bartenders were all very attentive and had obviously been very well trained at table service and bar service respectively. Music was provided by a DJ who was contracted by Milton Ridge and was included with the package that my daughter and her husband had chosen. The selection was a mix of old and new with the focus of getting the guests up and dancing. He was very good at his job and he accomplished his goal! Last but definitely not least; the photographer; also contracted with Milton Ridge! He was amazing!!! The unique shots, quality and beauty of his work left us speechless. He was everywhere, but never in the way, always inconspicuous and watching for that perfect candid shot. Even his posed photos had a very relaxed casual look about them. All photos were organized and available to the newlyweds on the Milton Ridge website within 10days of their wedding day!! ALL pictures belong to her and her husband to print, copy and share with whoever they wish!! Milton Ridge exceeded my expectation and I would never hesitate to recommend them to anyone!!”

“Finding this venue felt like discovering a hidden gem. 9030 Rockland Estates is tucked away in the most peaceful, picturesque spot — it truly felt like a dream once we found it through lots of searching online. When we booked in 2023, the venue was still fairly new, but after our first walk-through, we instantly fell in love. The ceremony site was breathtaking, and even though the deck and a few other spaces were still being developed at the time, we could already see the incredible potential. Over nearly two years of planning, I had the absolute pleasure of working with Amanda (the owner) and later Kaitlyn, the event coordinator. Both of them were amazing — incredibly responsive, warm, and supportive. Amanda especially went above and beyond, answering every question (no matter how small) with patience and enthusiasm. Her joyful spirit shines through in everything she does. As a former bride herself, she truly understands what couples need and has built that perspective into her venue experience. One of the best things about 9030 is the flexibility it offers. You get access to the property from Thursday through Sunday, which makes all the difference — especially for DIY brides or anyone without a big setup crew. Having time for rehearsal, setup, and cleanup without feeling rushed was a huge blessing. Amanda also later opened the on-site house for couples, families, and wedding parties to stay in, which made our weekend so much easier and more enjoyable. Being able to get ready right there, change after the ceremony, and simply relax without worrying about transportation was incredible. The venue itself has everything a couple could want — beautiful indoor bathrooms, a spacious bridal suite, a groom’s suite, and stunning natural backdrops everywhere you look. Amanda keeps improving and adding thoughtful touches all the time. She allows couples to bring their own vendors and alcohol (with a licensed bartender), which gave us so much flexibility to personalize our day. About 10 days before the wedding, Amanda informed us that the venue could no longer do fireworks in-house, but she quickly helped us find a licensed vendor and handled all the logistics. The show turned out to be spectacular — truly the best way to end a magical night. It rained on our wedding day, which initially broke my heart since I had dreamed of that outdoor ceremony site from the moment I saw it. But Amanda and her team transformed the tent space so beautifully that I ended up loving it even more. The way the florals, colors, and lighting came together created the most romantic atmosphere imaginable. Everyone is still raving about how gorgeous it was! Yes, there were minor hiccups — mostly due to me underestimating how the rain plan would affect seating with our large bridal party — but overall, everything was seamless and stunning. Amanda’s flexibility, kindness, and understanding made all the difference. If I could do it all over again (which I won’t, because I married my forever!), I’d 110% book 9030 Rockland Estates again — maybe just earlier in September to skip the rain! This venue, and the people behind it, made our wedding everything we dreamed of and more. We feel so lucky and grateful to have celebrated such a special day in such a beautiful place.”

“Willowood is such a stunning event space. The interior design and landscaping are so thoughtful and intentional—it’s clear how much care went into creating it. I especially love the old barn. There’s truly nothing else like it, and the way it’s been lovingly restored is incredible. They managed to honor the history of the property while also giving it a modern, fresh feel that works beautifully for today’s events. Everywhere you look, the rolling hills and gorgeous scenery make for the perfect backdrop. There are so many spots across the property that can be used in different ways, whether it’s for weddings, family reunions, retreats, or anything in between. “Zigbone Farm was the spiritual heart of our wedding. As soon as we booked this venue, everything flowed from there. Schedule, design and theme, decisions about other vendors and guest list — everything else became easier because this venue provided such a gorgeously strong anchor point in the middle of our special celebration. What more can you ask for? Every single vendor commented on the uncommon beauty and peace of this venue. We loved having our welcome dinner here on Friday night and having a local vendor make pizza in the cob oven. On Saturday when it rained, we didn’t have to worry because we knew the lodge house would beautifully accommodate our guests for cocktail hour and that the pavilion and event hall would be fine if the rain didn’t stop (it did, and we got a double rainbow!). On Sunday, we hosted a beautiful farewell breakfast. It was so wonderful to be able to have so many friends stay on site with us, and to have some space from them in the bridal suite. Not having to leave the property once during the entire weekend was such a blessing and kept things from feeling too busy or crazy. Marijke was our main contact and she was so quick to respond to any questions we had and really fun to interact with. She clearly loves this place and has a deep enthusiasm for the couples who celebrate there. Our guests who stayed on site felt so spoiled and kept remarking on how relaxed they felt, that it felt like a true retreat for them even amid a busy schedule of events. We really hope to return to Zigbone for a reunion one day, what a special sacred place. I cannot recommend it enough to any couple marrying. Especially as a queer couple, we felt deeply affirmed, safe and celebrated here. Thank you Marijke and Dena!!”

“The Barn at Hill Country was an incredible venue for our wedding. From the moment we first inquired, the staff was efficient, quick to respond, and incredibly kind and supportive. They provided us with a beautiful, private, and very clean space to get ready together on site, which was so convenient and special. Even the club members who were there to shoot and not a part of the wedding were so sweet and congratulatory! On top of that, my husband actually broke his ankle only days before the wedding, and Orvis went beyond the expectations to make sure he was able to get around with ease! Riding down the aisle after the ceremony rather than being carried is a great way to go! The quality of their work and overall value was exceptional. We couldn't have asked for a better venue to celebrate our special day.”

“From our first conversation with Mike and Audi at Frederick Social, we knew we had found the right venue for our wedding. They listened to every detail of what we needed and worked with us step by step to bring our vision to life, from finding the perfect spot for our processional and Chupah to accommodating our guests' dietary needs. They flipped the room quickly from ceremony to party, and had plenty of private space for our family. Even though we only booked a half-day, they closed the entire venue so we wouldn't feel rushed, and they gave us plenty of time to set up and tear down at our own pace. Mike and Audi helped us create a menu that worked for our vegetarian & gluten-free guests and welcomed us bringing outside food in for our kosher family members without hesitation. We were even able to tap into their sound system and manage the music ourselves. What really stood out was how they made us feel like family from day one, and they continue to greet us with the same warmth every time we walk through their doors. Frederick Social is the kind of venue that truly cares about making your day special and stress-free.”

Our wedding here was so much fun and unique, which was the perfect fit for my husband and I. While there are so specific rules of the venue that are in place because of the uniqueness of the venue that can make it a little tough to work around, the team with Fetewell was so easy to communicate with in order to iron out those details and come up with solutions. 10/10!”

All team members were very responsive over email to any of our questions along the way, and we held two planning meetings ahead of the wedding where we coordinated day-of logistics. Phil and the team were excellent on the wedding day! They were communicative and willing to step in where needed to make sure that the day was effortless. They also took our loose decor instructions and made the ceremony space, cocktail hour, and reception look beautiful. “Niko & Mary were wonderful to work with. They truly made our dream wedding come to life. They were attentive - always answering our questions and making sure everything ran as smoothly as possible. Food: Booking with Union Mills gave us the freedom to create the food experience we truly wanted. We went with a Filipino-inspired menu that combined many of our favorite dishes, and Niko was incredibly knowledgeable about different cultural cuisines. He offered wonderful selections and made the process so enjoyable. The pizza options were endless and allowed us to get creative as well! Drinks: The drinks were out of this world. We loved the variety of drink and beer options they provided. We really appreciated that they went the extra mile to source specific beers we requested — even getting one of our favorites on tap just for us! Location: The location of Union Mills is unbeatable. Its walkability to downtown Frederick and nearby bars was one of the main reasons we chose it. Since many of our guests were traveling from out of state or even out of the country, we wanted them to experience the true charm of Frederick, Maryland. Union Mills offered the perfect accessibility for our guests both before and after the wedding. Parking: Mary and Niko provided detailed maps to help our guests find parking easily. There’s plenty of parking available around Union Mills, and they were able to reserve a limited number of spots for us, which was so helpful. Communication: Mary and Niko were always responsive and easy to reach, whether by text or email. From our experience, they replied very quickly via text, which was perfect for quick questions. For more detailed inquiries about logistics or planning, email communication worked great. Their responsiveness made the planning process smooth and stress-free. Suggestions: The only thing we would have appreciated was a more streamlined way to receive quotes and itemized details. One of our other vendors used an event management app called A Perfect Venue, which made tracking and organizing everything really easy. Besides that, we were completely happy with everything Union Mills had to offer! Overall, we highly recommend working with Union Mills — you won’t regret it. We had such a wonderful, unforgettable experience! Thank you for your creativity, your thoughtful menu suggestions, and for executing everything so perfectly. We still dream about the food to this day and feel so lucky to have experienced such a wonderful celebration with the two of you.”

“This is a spectacular venue. My husband and I had a late August wedding here with 50 guests. We wanted lush greenery, an outdoor ceremony, and a customizable menu. Stone Manor delivered on all fronts! Big highlights: - This team truly goes above and beyond to make your wedding day smooth. Erin (their event manager) and Autumn (their day of coordinator) checked in on us through the day. They were easy to communicate with and very organized. On top of this, they are both genuinely kind people! I called them my fairy god mothers. - Cost was a big concern of ours. This venue offered reduced pricing for week day bookings, has a lending library of well maintained decor (included with the venue), and even worked with us to make specialty drinks with regular bar products at no additional cost. They are up front with pricing which we appreciated. There were no unexpected fees. - One of the reasons people don't go with all inclusive venues is because the menu is often set already. This was completely not the case here! Their chef Parth and the CDC (I unfortunately forgot her name) actually worked with us to make a custom menu for our guests. They were not familiar with the cuisine we asked for but were so accommodating. They even set up a tasting with us, listened to our feedback on how we wanted it to taste, and adjusted it for the wedding day -- at no additional cost. This was actually incredible and meant a lot to us. We got a lot of great feedback on the food from our guests! And everything is cooked on site so it tasted so fresh day of. - They love cats - Idk what else you would want from a venue to be honest. My husband and I were both gagged by the staff here in general. Every one we met from the bartender to the lady who cleaned our room was so sweet. If you're stuck between choices , we give Stone Manor a whole hearted recommendation!”

“We got married in early November at The Visitation Hotel, which served as the perfect place for a wedding reception and wedding weekend "base camp" for 147 guests. The central downtown Frederick location was unbeatable – highly walkable to the ceremony church, restaurants, bars, and shop. Having accommodations, catering, and the bar service all in one place was incredibly convenient. The staff was exceptional. Everyone was attentive, proactive, and genuinely kind. Mazie, our venue lead, organized a wonderful menu tasting, checked in throughout the big day, and during cocktail hour the service team made sure we got to taste everything as the guests of honor – such a thoughtful touch! The team was also wonderfully collaborative with our vendors, making planning seamless. The food and service were outstanding, and our guests are still raving about the celebration. We wholeheartedly recommend The Visitation Hotel to anyone getting married in Frederick.”

“Walker's Overlook is a hidden gem and was the perfect venue for our October wedding! The ceremony area is absolutely gorgeous and provides an incredible backdrop for photos, while the reception tent offers a cozy, rustic vibe complete with wood floors and string lights. The owners, Mark and David, are the best. They are both super hands-on and were great to communicate with throughout the whole process. Mark checked in on us regularly during the year leading up to our wedding and made sure we knew exactly what to expect on the wedding day. One of the best things about Walker's is that they provide an in-house wedding coordinator, so we didn't need to hire a separate planner. Our coordinator, Tammy, was INCREDIBLE -- she knows the industry inside and out and made our wedding day completely seamless and stress-free.
