About this venue

With dates as early as 1701, elegant White Chimneys stands in eastern Lancaster County as a timely witness to over 300 years of American history. Meticulously designed formal European gardens, the 16 column pergola, and imported Italian marble fountains are reminiscent of a romantic time gone by the wayside in today's modern pace. The 1800s tobacco barn is climate controlled and is ADA compliant. We are honored to host many life celebrations such as weddings, reunions, and anniversaries.

North Lily Pond Garden

White Chimneys brings to life the wedding of your dreams

Experience the elegance of the North Lily Pond Garden, featuring a reflecting lily pond, a wall fountain, and brick patio which can host your hors d’oeuvre and cocktail hour. You and your guests can enjoy our beautiful Potager Garden here as well. The Potager Garden is a historically significant artistic garden, and features a variety of vegetables, herbs, and flowers. This creates a unique and breathtaking element to enjoy as an interlude between your ceremony and reception.

White Chimneys brings to life the wedding of your dreams.

By popular requests, the original tobacco barn of the White Chimneys Estate has been carefully renovated to expand event options. Our standard decór of thousands of twinkle lights and grapevines grace the open beams as a romantic reminder of a simpler time. This makes an excellent foundation to personalize your own reception or event. Tables, chairs and vintage items are included in your rental and use of the barn. The barn seats 220 guests and has restrooms that are ADA accessible.

You may choose a small intimate ceremony or larger ceremony up to 250 guests. Additionally, you may select from a large variety of antique horse-drawn carriages to incorporate into your ceremony and pictures.

    Incredible, can't say enough good things!

    We got married at White Chimneys and truly can't say enough good things!! It is a beautiful space and so thoughtfully designed to help a wedding flow well. From the very beginning, owners Jessica and Miriam were so helpful. Jessica worked with us to plan out the day, and she and the WC servers made sure the day ran smoothly. We didn't have to worry about a thing. Thank you White Chimneys for everything!!

We are exclusive use, only one event per day.
Every event is customized with arrivals as early as 6AM to the Bridal Suite for getting ready. Departures are typically by one hour after the last song.
There is a paved parking lot that accommodates over 80 spaces. Ample turn-around and waiting spaces are available for shuttles, school buses, or motor coaches. Check out our favorites!
If it rains, the wedding ceremony will be held inside the tobacco barn with cocktail hour to follow in the tented patio.
As a guest you can take pictures anywhere on the venue property, other than the interior of the main house and interior of equine stable. Some pasture locations on the property may require you to have a staff member with you.
The White Chimneys tobacco barn is professionally climate controlled for summer and winter!
All banquet tables and 200 wood, padded seat, indoor chairs are included in venue pricing. White ceremony chairs are priced individually and are set up by our staff, based on your guest the final week of your event. We own our own linens and napkins which are available for modest fees.
Alcohol service to your guests is permissible by hiring Roaming Libations Mobile Bar who are RAMP certified and insured. We love to offer custom signature cocktails using herbs (mint, thyme, sage, lavender, rosemary) grown in our gardens. We also offer add-on features such as a remodeled horse trailer bar and donkey/ponies for alcohol service during cocktail hour.
Yes, the venue offers commercial ADA accessibility. There are numerous restroom facilities and 2 ADA ramps into the reception barn.
Yes, we love our animal friends! However, prior notice must be given to your event planner and coordinator. This will be placed in writing in the special request area of the contract. All animals should be leashed or contained. It is expected that all animals and pets be licensed where applicable and up to date on all recommended vaccines. Proof of vaccines and a clean bill of health must be available for review.
Real flame candles are not permitted to be lit inside the tobacco barn. Candles in containers may be used in the outside garden areas only. Table centerpieces utilizing flameless flicker candles are the preferred candle for indoor decoration. If you need assistance in planning centerpieces, our planning staff and coordinators will be happy to assist you in planning.
The most current available dates can be learned by sending an email to: weddings@whitechimneys.com. An official booking occurs when the contract is signed and 25% down payment is received.
We offer a list of our favorite, preferred vendors (not exclusive) who we have worked closely with for the past 18 years. We love to assist you in planning these details of your special day. This list is part of your planning and contract binder which you receive at your booking. If you choose to hire a vendor not on our preferred list, we do desire to have a planning meeting or visit to confirm that all details and standards of conduct align with our expectations and vision.
Yes! When you book your wedding at White Chimneys, 3 hours of planning services are included in venue fee. Additional planning time and services are available upon request. White Chimneys' Day-Of-Coordinators attend your rehearsal and entire wedding day. If you choose to hire an outside coordinator or planning services, a White Chimneys Liaison Staff member is required to assist.
A 2000 sq foot Bridal Suite is available make-up stations, refreshment station, refrigerator, sinks and ADA restrooms. The main reception barn features a large loft for Groom’s dressing purposes and 5 additional restrooms. All spaces have cable TV and WiFi. Access to these areas are customized to as early as 6am. You can also book one of our bar staff to attend to your morning celebrations!
