“We hired Optimum Catering for a Marine reunion in Oceanside with roughly 120 guests, and the experience turned out great. Lisa was our primary contact and she was very easy to work with from the beginning. Communication was quick, clear and straightforward, which made the planning process simple. Their team took care of the full setup including tables, chairs and the general layout, so we did not have to deal with any of the logistics. Everything arrived on schedule and was arranged exactly the way we had discussed beforehand. “We could not have been happier with the service we received from Buckboard as the catering provider for our wedding. Right from the initial meeting Ashley, (Buckboard’s sales manager) gave us a personalized introduction and very friendly tasting. It was clear from this initial interaction that she cared more about our experience and less about just becoming one of their customers. The food was/is absolutely delicious. Every single item was cooked perfectly, and it was clear from the initial tasting that their chefs and cooks take genuine pride in cooking high quality meals that do not come off as “mass produced” like a number of other caterers in the area. We have lost count of the number of guests who told us during and after the meal that it was by far the best food they’ve ever had at a wedding, and this is reflective of the company as a whole. Ashley and JP (the Chief Operating Officer) were both present during the planning process, and worked with us directly to determine a menu that would be both wonderful for the guests as well as within our budget. When dietary restrictions were presented, Ashley and her team made the accommodations easy and care free, and provided options that were also delicious. She and her staff were so friendly and professional on the day-of that a number of guests went out of their way to comment on the crew. We cannot rave enough about the services we received from Buckboard Catering. To make matters better they also operate a full-time restaurant in El Cajon, which we plan on frequenting regularly when visiting San Diego. We hopped on a Zoom call, instantly felt comfortable, and decided to move forward. Both our dinner and cocktail menus were completely custom. We even had tastings for both before locking anything in. The dinner tasting alone was a 12-course experience that genuinely rivaled meals we’ve had at Michelin-starred restaurants. It was incredible. At first, we planned to handle the rest of the details ourselves, but we ran into some issues with rentals and other vendors. I reached out to Parish Events for advice, and not only were they happy to help, it became really clear they were far better equipped to take this on. We added on some of their planning services and never looked back. They helped with design details and secured the rest of the vendors we needed to bring everything together. Our wedding day was beautiful, seamless, and everything we hoped for. I wouldn’t change a thing.”
