Skyewater Photo + Film is a photography and videography team based in Washington and Colorado, specializing in adventure elopements and small weddings (75 guests or fewer), with a unique focus on locations and venues that feature the element of water. Our lead photographer Kaitlyn was born in Florida, but with years of experience living in the mountains, Kaitlyn is happiest wherever the water is. She currently lives on the road with her husband and pup Bruiser in their RV, as they search for their dream property in Washington state.

I am so glad you found your way here! My name is Steph (it's lovely to meet you!). I was born and raised overseas in Sri Lanka and moved to the beautiful PNW for college and decided to stay. The world and the people in it are too beautiful not to be art - so here we are creating art out of the beautiful moments you and your lives bring into being. I never meant to be a wedding photographer - but somehow, here I am. I started my career as a newspaper reporter, and left that to be a writer and photographer for a public university. Almost 10 years into my second career, I was laid off - so I turned some pretty sour lemons into Lemonade Photography. I'm a lifelong Northwesterner, a mom to two boys, a nature lover, a proud geek and quite possibly the biggest Harry Potter fan you'll ever meet (don't challenge me to a Potter trivia contest; you WILL lose). I love to laugh, and I love to make my clients laugh along with me.

We are Joe and Darryl Ann, husband and wife, creatives, business partners, and best friends. We’re half adventurers, half homebodies. We love traveling and spending time in the great outdoors; camping, hiking and exploring. But we also love being at home with our two dogs; crafting, woodworking, puzzles, and Netflix marathons. We both identify as introverts, and there is nothing that we love more than developing a connection with a couple and working with them on one of the biggest and best days of their lives. For us, photographing weddings is where adventure and connection meet.

My whole business centers on one thing: I love stories. Hearing them. Telling them. Witnessing them. It’s what makes me tick as a photographer: I love to watch moments unfold. Which makes me a pretty-darn-good-if-I-do-say-so-myself web designer, too. I see things and I piece them together to tell the stories that beg to be told. That is … until I couldn’t see what was happening in my own story. Don’t get me wrong, I love being a photographer — seriously, hit me up! — weddings, portraits, all of it totally fires me up. And I love designing websites … which, I guess, was part of the problem. I loved my work so much I let it take over my life.

I've been photographing weddings since 2006, and opened my photography studio in Bremerton in 2016. Besides weddings other photography services include: portraiture, commercial assignments, editorial, and stock and fine art photography.

There are times in our lives, however, that we want to capture and hold onto forever. Through a photograph, we can transcend time to relive an event.
