Using an old girl scout camera found at a garage sale, my father taught me the rules of photography and composition. On weekends we would go for photo adventures. I'm a wife to a wonderful, supportive woman and I'm a mom to three amazing humans and two sweet fur babies. I have worked very hard to build a business on honesty and loyalty. I also have built it in a way that my clients will feel as though they are family.

My couples range all the way from attorney’s for the city of Chicago to small town midwest farmers. I’m a good mix of boujee and laidback — a little bit jimmy Choo, a little Lucchese too (but even those boots are pretty boujee.) Needless to say, I’m here for the boujee and the laidback.

My name is Amanda Montgomery and I am Arrae Photography based out of Grand Rapids, Michigan. The name Arrae (pronounced [uh-rey]) came from my first initial and my middle name, Rae, added an extra r and made a new word. I wanted something unique that was also me, the idea came to mind one day and it just fit. Being a photographer is all I've ever wanted to do with my life. When I was 12 I saved up my babysitting money to buy my first 'big time' camera. I formed Arrae Photography in 2003 as a part-time venture while I worked at local photo labs, went full time in 2008.

I am a Huntsville, Alabama native, but moved to Nashville after graduating from the University of Alabama in 2013. ROLL TIDE! Although I consider Nashville home, I am anything but a homebody. I love traveling and exploring new places (especially the food at those places!). I even studied abroad in Italy, which let me tell you, was a food lover's dream. I have always felt like an old soul trapped in a millennial’s body. I would rather listen to Frank Sinatra than anything on the radio today.
