Your wedding is one of the most important days of your life, and I am so happy that you are considering including us to be a part of it. I commit to a limited number of Weddings per year to ensure that your day remains a priority. Photography is all about connection and your photographer will be one of the biggest and longest-lasting connections you’ll share with any of your wedding vendors. I strive to create beautiful portraits, but also a lasting relationship with my couples. When you book with us, you are not just a client, you become part of the JYP family! I am honored to have the opportunity to laugh…to cry…to share your love story.

After 200+ weddings, my style is ingrained to be timeless & photojournalistic. While I am happy to grab the formal & posed images, my goal is to also capture the true moments and the emotion of the day. I am there to photograph the big moments, but I want to capture the little moments just as much. I want to catch you having an amazing time with your friends & the flower girl twirling in her dress. I’m looking for parent’s tears and the squeeze of the hand from grandma giving you a little extra love & reassurance. After “I Do’s” have been said, I want to look for that moment when you realize that you now have the rest of your lives together.

    The photographer of our dreams

    Where do I even begin with Jessica Yahn Photography? From the very first time we met her, Jessica didn’t just feel like a photographer — she instantly felt like family. She has this warm, genuine personality that puts you completely at ease, and by the end of our engagement session, we already knew we’d made the best decision choosing her to capture our story. When it came to our wedding day, Jessica went above and beyond every single expectation. She didn’t just take photos — she created moments that felt straight out of a dream. Every detail, every emotion, and every bit of love that filled the day somehow came through perfectly in her work. Her creativity, professionalism, and passion are unmatched, and her photos are truly magical. But what meant the most to me was her kindness and care behind the camera. In the middle of all the wedding chaos, when I started to feel sick, Jessica stopped what she was doing to come check on me — not because it was part of her job, but because that’s just who she is.     Amazing!

    Where do I even start? Jessica is probably hands down the easiest person we worked with on our wedding. We unintentionally scheduled our wedding on Mother's day and this was obviously an important day for her, but she worked with us anyway. She worked through our foolishness (my husband and I are incapable of being serious in most situations), and often would join in on the fun. She also provided a schedule of events which was incredibly helpful for me as I had no idea what I was doing. Jessica is an amazing photographer, but that is not really the best quality here. She is an amazing person all around and I highly recommend her!

    Wedding 2023

    100/10 recommend her to be your photographer. My husband and I meet Jessica 5 years before we actually ended up setting a date and getting married. Somehow when we finally decided to put a date on the calendar we reached out and Jessica still remembered us like we just talked recently. Working with her has been so easy and smooth sailing. She is crazy organized and very responsive along with an open mind and helped with some accommodations to make our day super special! I will definitely be booking for family sessions and more with her!!

    Looking Back on our Best Day

    Jessica did an absolutely amazing job in every aspect. She was so easy to communicate with and obviously experienced. She was so adaptable to fit our vision for the day. Day of, she and her assistant were prompt and things moved along so smoothly. They did an amazing job durning the ceremony and reception of blending into the crowd and capturing genuine moments. There wasn’t a moment I was worried about the photos coming out perfectly. She got our 1000 photos back to us in just over a month and was so great when we requested some small additional edits. Overall we can’t recommend Jessica enough and are so glad to have all the perfect moments from our day memorialized so beautifully.

So no matter who you are or where you are in this crazy thing we call life, I'm ready to celebrate your love story. I am currently finishing booking events for 2024 and into 2025. I only commit to a limited number of weddings per year, so it is definitely important to book as soon as possible. We are often filling popular dates over 12-18 months, even 24 months in advance. Once you have your date (and preferably venue) set — I am more than happy to help finalize your contract and add you to the calendar.
I do! Just let me know if your venue requires a certificate of liability, and I’ll send that over to them.
I do my best to get your photos to you as quickly as possible. I know how excited you are. I will provide sneak peeks if you'd like on social media. While your contract states up to 8 weeks, I always try to get them to you faster. The average turnaround time for your full engagement gallery is within 2 weeks and 4 weeks for your wedding gallery.
Yes, yes, and YES! I bring multiple cameras, lenses and other equipment to use as needed. Typically I/we have at least 3 professional cameras with us at every wedding. We also have multiple backup systems in place after the wedding to keep your images safe.
Local weddings require an $800 retainer for local weddings, while destination weddings require a $1600 retainer. This ensures travel and accommodations can be booked appropriately in advance. Along with your retainer, a signed contract is required to get your wedding on the calendar. To be fair I cannot hold a date without a retainer and a signed contract. The retainer guarantees that I will hold your date exclusively for you and turn down all other inquiries. The remaining balance will be accessible through your client portal to create your payment plan. The remainder of your balance is due no less than two weeks before your wedding.
For Friday thru Sunday weddings, I typically recommend 8 to 10 hours of coverage. Typically 8 hours will cover the end of getting ready through the important parts of the reception. If you really love the getting ready and detail photos or are planning a grand exit such as sparklers, then you may want to consider booking 10 hours of coverage to make sure we can fit all of those memories into your timeline. The only time I recommend booking more than 10 hours of coverage is for specific weddings that might have 2+ locations and/or couple’s who are having long ceremonies. (For example Catholic or Hindu Weddings).
Color correction and minor edits for blemishes will be made to all of your portraits, but I believe in celebrating the beauty and uniqueness of who you are. If there is something you view as an imperfection, please let me know about specific edits you want. These may be charged according to the number and complexity of edits.
Yes! I LOVE to travel & photograph destination weddings! I've photographed weddings as far as The Cayman Islands. We lived in Hawaii and Washington before relocating to Missouri to be near family. I typically plan to fly in approximately 2 days before the wedding. I am more than happy to create a custom wedding collection to suit your travel needs.
First of all, let me reassure you that in my entire career, with over 200 weddings and countless portrait sessions, I have never missed a wedding. I have photographed a wedding with Pneumonia (pre-covid), several weddings with a broken arm, and even a wedding just a few days after my dad unexpectedly passed away. I understand that this is a once-and-a-lifetime day for you and I do not take that lightly. But IF something were to happen, a contract is in place to protect you and I have a wide network of trusted photographers that can step in if absolutely necessary. I promise, I've got your back!
I respect your privacy and allow each client to decide whether or not they want their photos displayed publicly. I’d love to show off you & your images if you’re game! If not, that's okay, too.
While we have had many sessions and weddings get featured, this isn't something that is guaranteed. Most publishers are interested in uniquely designed weddings with a lot of details.
This is purely up to you! While I can easily photograph the wedding just myself, I find that a lot of my couples appreciate having my second photographer there to assist in capturing additional moments and helping keep things from getting behind. This is especially true for the ceremony & reception. For example, I can stay focused on those special moments between the two of you while my second photographer can focus on moments happening with your loved ones. Either way, you can decide this based on what parts of the day are most important and/or what your budget allows.
