My name is Jillian and I'm a photographer and artist in Kansas City My goal is to capture you. Every couple, family, person is different, and I want to make sure your uniqueness comes through in the images of your special days. My style tends to lean into rich colors and textures. Are you a couple that doesn't want to have a typical wedding? I'm a photographer that doesn't want to give you typical images! I always tear up at hand written vows. I love my partner and my two dogs Moonshine and Chosen One, and my cat Bucket.

I want to make your engagement and wedding photo experience as collaborative and stress-free as possible. I love working with creative folks and if you have an idea of a photo you want, or an experience you want to document, I'm all about it! I'm organized, but also a very go-with-the-flow kinda person. I want your day to be all about you, what you want, and make the photography process fun, but unobtrusive.

    Jillian is a fantastic photographer and a joy to work with. She took the time to get to know us and what we were looking for before the event and it paid off. Our photographs are GORGEOUS! And totally US! Beautiful, candid, documentary, playful, and totally unobtrusive, just part of the fun.

    Jillian at Youngbird Photo (j.guthrie_photo on Instagram) is such a true joy and delight to work with. Not only did she come to photograph our small May ceremony, but she photographed a first look photo session with us after we canceled the reception!! My dress was in covid lockup in May, so I wasn't able to wear it at the original ceremony. Jillian made sure that we had pictures of the dress, and captured a first look moment for us, and that will forever mean the world to me. She even came over to photograph the centerpieces that we had worked so hard on!! She makes people feel so comfortable and has such an amazing eye for what will make a beautiful shot. She is immensely talented and an absolutely delightful person. And bonus, she works with any budget. She truly believes that every couple deserves beautiful photos, and will work with you, whatever your situation is. Case in point, she's done our engagement photos, our small ceremony photos, and now our first look photos, and in every instance, she went above and beyond for us. I will recommend her forever, and still cannot completely put into words how much she and her photos mean to us!
