A week before our wedding we had to change our wedding and he was one of the first people we called. Within minutes he had lists of places to call. When we figured out a new venue he did everything he could to become familiar with the new space and the owner. We arrived to the reception with our vendors all knowing eachother like they were friends all along - it was so unified like one family coming together. “The photographer, videographer, and photo booth was absolutely perfect and our guests had a blast! However, even after going through the work of submitting a Spotify play list and adding do not play songs or DJ played the wrong version of our first dance song (I checked and we had the correct version listed on our playlist we sent over), he also played songs from our do not play list to the point I, the bride, came over to ask if he had the wrong list. He admitted he was using songs from the do not play list as he was not paying attention. I would also like to note, though our wedding was more casual, our DJ was dressed in a sloppy manner. His shirt was half untucked from his pants, there were stains on his shirt and pants. Besides a few hiccups, direct Entertainment was wonderful to work with!”

“I've been to my fair share of weddings the last few years and I can definitively say that Yazz Events is one of the best live wedding bands I have ever seen. My calves were more sore the day after the wedding than when I ran the Chicago Marathon a few weeks prior. That's how hard I was dancing all night. We had a bilingual wedding (Spanish/English) and the MC, Hector, was able to speak and instruct guests in both languages. SO AWESOME! They also played the perfect blend of songs in both languages. Many of our Spanish speaking guests had not seen a live band like this before and they loved it. Amy, the owner, was amazing with planning and giving suggestions for the setlist. We also hired the jazz duo for our rehearsal dinner. They added such a calming presence to that night. 10/10 all around. Thank you Yazz Events!”

Anytime I had a question or worry (which I had a few), he was right there with reassurance and quick answers - even when I’d email him late at night, he somehow would respond within minutes! That kind of responsiveness and care meant so much to us, especially in the week leading up to the wedding with things get hectic. He went above and beyond for our rehearsal, helping us run through every detail and setting up mics and speakers so efficiently that everything flowed seamlessly. It gave us such a peace of mind knowing he had everything under control. On the wedding day, Colin handled two complete sound setups - his wireless one for our outdoor ceremony and his main for the reception - and both were absolutely flawless! The sound quality was perfect the entire day; guests could hear every word of our ceremony and every speech crystal clear. There wasn’t a single hiccup. Then came one of the biggest surprises of the night - cold sparks! Colin and my husband had planned them without me knowing, and it was truly one of my favorite parts of the evening. It made our first dance feel straight out of a movie and the photos from that moment are unreal. If anyone is on the fence about adding cold sparks - DO IT! You won’t regret it. The Photo Booth was a huge hit with our guests! Colin recently upgraded with a printer which people were obsessed with being able to take home their photos (a little built in favor). It kept guests entertained all night long and added such a fun, interactive element to our reception. What really stood out though, was how Colin and his wife (who was his wonderful assistant that day) made everything so personal. They were professional yet warm, blending right into the crowd and truly feeling like family celebrating alongside us. Colin kept the energy flowing, a smooth timeline, and the dance floor full all night long. Looking back, we can’t imagine our day without Sound Love. Colin helped make everything easy, stress-free, and so much fun. We searched high and low for someone who not only understood the event we were trying to put together, but was willing to take on the assignment. We told Eddie that priority #1 for our day was a packed dance floor and a welcoming environment for everyone to just immerse themselves in each others cultures. A tall order, but WOW did Eddie DELIVER!!! He had people dancing the ENTIRE night. Eddie's talent and unique skillset resulted in the perfect atmosphere for all of our favorite people. All of this, of course, is thanks to Eddie!!! We were initially inclined towards hiring someone from India but the cost and logistics were too much to handle so we decided to look for a band based in the US. We weren't expecting the band sound so amazing but we were totally blown away! All of our guests had a great time and that's what mattered to us the most. Totally worth it!
