    We chose Okyne based on the numerous positive reviews, which led us to believe they would be the ideal choice for our wedding. Their services were within our budget, communication prior to the event was clear and efficient, and they indicated they had experience performing at our venue, which was reassuring. Before the wedding, we had a detailed call with what we assume was one of the owners or managers, during which we thoroughly discussed our preferences. We also filled out a detailed form, though it didn't leave much room for customization. Nonetheless, we left the call feeling confident. However, on the wedding day, we encountered several issues. We met our actual DJ for the first time, and despite the DJ’s prior experience at the venue, the ceremony, speeches, and announcements were barely audible, which was disappointing. During the reception, we had to go over to the DJ a few times to request he change up the music. The DJ was unaware that we had requested two separate songs for the father-daughter dances, which had been clearly discussed during the pre-wedding call and noted in the form. Additionally, when we asked for "September" by Earth, Wind & Fire to kick off the dancing (on the 21st night of September, no less), the DJ played a slower version of the song, followed by a few more slow songs which didn't exactly scream "come dance". After requesting more upbeat music, the DJ switched to a fast-paced, power-hour style playlist to which we went over again and asked that he let the songs play out more. After that the music seemed to match the vibe we were looking for. Overall, while Okyne had many promising qualities, the execution on the wedding day fell short of expectations. We had hoped for a more seamless experience given the other reviews, planning, and communication leading up to the event.

    A few days before our wedding, I got a message from Al saying our DJ had COVID and that they were going to send someone else. I was super bummed because I had loved our original pick (DJ Marcus) who did a fantastic job DJing our friends wedding in 2021. The replacement DJ (DJ Jose) called us right away to review all the details of the night with us. I was still hesitant, but was beginning to feel more comfortable during the conversation. On wedding day, DJ Jose was kind, professional, punctual, and ABSOLUTELY KILLED IT on the dance floor!! No one sat down for the entire night and guests are STILL raving about DJ Jose! Many guests have even requested Jose's song selections for the entire day (ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception) because they loved it so much! Props to Okyne for having such talented DJs that can pick up events for each other and still do a fantastic job. Al was very responsive and easy to work with, as well! Smart choice for any couple that is looking for a party on the dance floor

    We selected Okyne because they offered an option for both a DJ and live music for our ceremony. We liked the ease of everything being under one company. We had a few issues with communication in our planning. Things were not communicated up front and changes were suggested with less than a week out from our wedding (stressful). But day of was great. Our DJ Brad did an awesome job choosing music that fit our group and we were very happy with him.

    Easy to work with and covered both our DJ needs and musicians for the ceremony. We met with Al initially and discussed our vision after filling out several things about our wedding. That week, our actual Dj, Alan, called us to introduce himself. He stuck with our playlist, but also did a pretty good job of reading the room.
