    Friendly, professional, and personalised

    From our first conversation with Anna and Tabitha at Groove Is In The Heart Djs, we knew we had found the right fit for our wedding. The team was friendly and patient as we worked through all the details, and they clearly cared about making our day special. They built a mix that matched our taste (Noah Kahan, Taylor Swift, and typically low-beat music) perfectly while keeping the dance floor packed and energised for our guests. Tabitha had everyone dancing until the very end of the night! Every transition was smooth, and Tabitha's skill at mixing really showed throughout the night. She handled our first dance and parent dances with incredible focus, making sure those moments felt exactly as we wanted them. We couldn't have asked for a better experience.

    Schwartz/Chastain Wedding

    Chris was an absolute professional from start to finish, and we can't recommend him highly enough. From our first conversations, it was clear we were working with someone who had a tremendous amount of experience, but he still gave us the personal attention every couple hopes for throughout the planning process. He took the time to understand the kind of atmosphere we wanted to create instead of just asking for a playlist, and he absolutely nailed it. One of the things we appreciated most was how thoughtfully he built the flow of the evening. We wanted the music to evolve throughout the night, starting with more classic songs that everyone could enjoy before transitioning into newer music as the dance floor really got going. Chris executed that vision perfectly. The music always felt right for the moment, and the energy throughout the reception was exactly what we had hoped for. Throughout the entire process, Chris was easy to work with, responsive, and completely on top of every detail. By the time the wedding day arrived, we had complete confidence that the entertainment was in great hands! If we were planning our wedding all over again, hiring Chris would be one of the easiest decisions we'd make. We couldn't have asked for a better DJ and MC.

    DJ Clare

    DJ Clare kept our guests on the dance floor the ENTIRE night - we had SO many of our guests say our reception was the best they’d ever been to with A song choices, seamless transitions, and helping my father in law weave in a surprise appearance from Gritty/Philly Flyers mascot. Clare made sure our day was truly a reflection of our relationship and we’re so over the moon with how our day turned out with her help.

    Groom

    DJ Jessie really knocked it out of the park for our wedding. The space was very echoey and tricky to work in, but the ceremony and reception both sounded great. She also did an amazing job with the music and the dance floor was literally full the entire night. The whole team was so easy to work with and made us feel super confident right away!

    Excellent DJ!

    The folks at Groove is in the Heart were great to work with. Marjorie set up multiple meetings with us prior to the event to ensure that everything was planned out and nothing was left to chance on our big day. Could not have asked for a better experience!

We have collectively over 30 years of experience DJing weddings. We are honored to have been included in hundreds of weddings across Chicago, Detroit, Milwaukee and in between!
We use the industry standard DJing program, Serato to mix and beatmatch the songs together, as well as top of the line speakers (QSC and or JBL) to ensure your sound is amazing for both music and toasts. We have wireless mics and corded mics as backups. and we use a Pioneer portable controller system for mixing and sound.
Sure! We can absolutely handle your ceremony songs and mic your officiant. This is all included in your rate, so we can do these for no additional charge. Keep in mind if your ceremony is outdoors, we will need proximity to a power outlet, and coverage if it rains or looks like rain. Our equipment does not work if it gets wet!
Nope! We want to focus on what we do best, which is providing a smooth running event and getting your dance floor grooving and shaking! We are not lighting experts - therefor we think its best to leave lighting up to lighting experts. If you want, we are happy to recommend some fabulous lighting companies for you!
