  • Offer

Nestled in the tranquil Catskill Mountains, just 90 miles from bustling NYC, lies The Outlier Inn—a serene 14-acre property. Here, amidst nature's embrace, we offer a haven from the city's hustle and bustle. Our versatile space serves as a retreat center, event venue, workshop hub, and even boasts a fiber and vegetable farm alongside a top-tier recording studio. We offer a variety of on-site accommodations which are included in our weekend Wedding Package. Whether your vision is an intimate gathering or a lavish celebration, we're dedicated to crafting your dream wedding into reality.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Space for a large guest list
  • Has onsite accommodations
  • Has a fun and festive vibe

Venue considerations

  • Does not have a dance floor
  • Venue feels large for events with small guest lists
  • No venue-provided food services
The Outlier Inn is truly one-of-a-kind, offering so much more than your typical wedding venue. From the start, we knew it was something special. One of our favorite aspects was being able to bring all of our loved ones together in one place for the entire weekend, creating a unique experience where our family and friends were “trapped” in the best way—celebrating and bonding without distractions. If you’re someone who loves to party under the stars, and you enjoy envisioning and creating fun, personalized spaces, this is the venue for you. The property itself is a hidden gem, full of surprises at every turn. There’s so much to explore, from the charming tiny houses scattered throughout, to the inviting homemade hot tub and peaceful sauna, to the quirky hidden thrift shop/barn. We held our ceremony in the newly added amphitheater nestled in the woods—an intimate space surrounded by towering trees, creating a perfect natural backdrop for our vows. We were lucky with beautiful September weather, and the sound of our friends laughing and exploring the grounds will forever be a cherished memory. Josh, the owner of The Outlier, truly made the entire experience unforgettable. From the moment we met him, we knew this was “our” place. He is warm, welcoming, and incredibly accommodating. During our first tour of the property, Josh even let us bottle-feed his adorable baby goat, “Frip”—a moment that will forever hold a special place in our hearts. Leading up to the wedding, Josh was always available to offer guidance and advice, and throughout the weekend, his calm presence was a steady source of reassurance. Whether he was setting up bonfires, handling speakers and microphones, or just checking in on us, Josh ensured everything ran smoothly, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in every moment of our celebration. The only downside to having our wedding at The Outlier Inn is that we almost want to keep it a secret—it’s so magical, we’d love to keep it all to ourselves! But in all honesty, The Outlier Inn is an extraordinary venue, and we can’t imagine getting married anywhere else. Thank you, Josh, for making our weekend so unforgettable!

My husband and I got married at The Arnold House on December 7, 2024, and it was truly the most perfect winter wedding weekend—we wouldn’t change a thing! Our guests couldn’t stop raving about the venue, with many comparing it to something straight out of a Hallmark movie. The property is absolutely magical. From the moment we visited, we fell in love with The Arnold House and knew we couldn’t wait to share it with our loved ones. The food, the ambiance, the cozy spaces throughout the property, and the beautifully appointed rooms all contribute to making this venue one-of-a-kind in the Catskills. The entire staff was amazing—everyone, from the wonderful kitchen team to the bartenders (shoutout to Kyle!), the front desk crew, and all the behind-the-scenes staff—went above and beyond to make our day special. A huge thank you to Emily & Will, who were absolute rockstars! They helped bring our vision to life with their organizational skills and attention to detail, guiding us every step of the way from the minute we booked to the day after the wedding. Everyone made sure that everything was perfect! We stumbled upon The Arnold House through Instagram in February 2024, and after visiting for lunch at the tavern the very next day, we were sold. The winter vibe, the barn, the greenhouse, cozy indoor fires, and outdoor firepits were everything we had dreamed of for our wedding. We visited again in the summer and fall, and no matter the season, The Arnold House always leaves you eager to plan your next visit. • Space for a large guest list
  • Versatile for various event styles

Venue considerations

  • On-site parking not available
  • Lighting and sound are not included

The Villa Roma truly offers a fully customizable bridal package. We were allowed to bring our own decor as well as borrow some too. You have several choices on ceremony locations. The Villas are a bit outdated and we had some plumbing issues, however maintenance was quick to respond. The reception hall is very nice and large, you can fit 100 people no problem. Again, fully customizing settings, decor and table placements. Cheryl is the events coordinator for the entire resort. Since she is in charge of all the events, she definitely has a full plate. If you are looking for a day of coordinator that can walk you through each second of the day, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to hire outside the Villa. If you are a type A planner, it would be my recommendation that you frequently email and coordinator with the team at the Villa. Cheryl was very accommodating and even moved our ceremony location an hour before starting, due to concerns with the weather. Alicia, who is the head bartender, stepped in and helped decorate, helped direct staff during the wedding day and she made the best signature drinks ever! She even popped in at our after party for more congrats! If you’re organized and know what you want, the possibilities are endless here. The views are beautiful, the food fantastic and the wait staff very helpful. I would recommend this venue.

TLW was the absolute best venue for our wedding. They let us bring a bouncy house obstacle course onto the property, and even had a vendor recommendation. Throughout our literal hundreds of emails back-and-forth, they were professional, friendly, and prompt in their reply. Our guests had so much fun, and TLW did a fantastic job accommodating our guests' various dietary restrictions. TLW also did a great job communicating with our other vendors. It was a dream to work with TLW - the food was delicious, all of their staff were friendly and welcoming, and the venue itself cannot be beat. The kids (and adults) had a wonderful time enjoying the goats on site, the swimming pool, and the go-karts! The go-karts are an absolute must-have add-on to any wedding, it is all anyone could talk about afterwards. It was so much fun! I also caught my first fish during my wedding weekend, and had an absolute blast! Thank you so much Justin for being such a great communicator and venue partner!

The memories we created there, the truly exceptional hospitality of the staff, the meticulous attention to every tiny detail, and the cuisine were simply out of this world. Diana and Kaitlyn are more than just professionals; they're wedding day superheroes. Their unwavering calm and ingenious problem-solving skills are exactly what every couple needs, especially when facing unpredictable weather or guest-related challenges. They consistently went above and beyond our wildest expectations. Chef Tommy curated a delicious menu and our guests were absolutely gushing about how delicious the food was. It’s rare that wedding food feels restaurant quality but at BVI it is! Every dish was cooked to perfection and was full of flavor. The staff at BVI consistently exceeds expectations. Every time I encountered a staff member, they genuinely inquired about my well-being, offered assistance, and sought ways to alleviate any wedding day stress. It was a truly remarkable experience. Beaverkill Valley Inn's setting is perfect - an ideal location for gathering your guests for a weekend getaway. From the welcoming front porch to the cozy fireplaces and the expansive property complete with bonfires to conclude your evening, it offers everything you could want. Our guests were constantly amazed, often asking, "How did you find this incredible place?" Their admiration extended to the Inn's staff as well. Words can't fully capture the magic of this place, but I'm eternally grateful that we chose Beaverkill Valley Inn for our special day. We recently had our wedding at ElmRock Inn bnb and we feel very lucky to have made lasting memories there. Rain or shine the grounds were absolutely stunning and the décor tied the ambiance together to create a warm and rustic look to our wedding that we always envisioned. We were blessed with a rainy morning which did not stop us from having a beautiful ceremony. The staff was extremely helpful as we transitioned with the weather. Jen and the other wait staff was very attentive in ensuring that everyone with food restrictions were taken care of. The food was beyond expectations, we had so many guests that came up to us to send compliments to the chef. The reception went off without a hitch! We were even lucky enough to get a visit from the friendly deer that like to roam the property which created the most spectacular and unique photos. There are only a few suggestions that we had about our experience. Those of our guests staying in the Carriage house hit a few snags during their visit. There are a few lifted nails in the floor boards that our guests hit as they walked barefoot upstairs. There was also some difficulty finding hooks to hand towels that were being used or to hang a suit. We stayed in the Iris room which was a beautiful space, however, we were woken up each morning quite early to staff having some loud conversations in the kitchen below us. The only trouble we had during the reception was during our cake cutting. We noticed the cake was not taken out with enough time to thaw after being in the fridge because it was difficult to cut. Regardless of these small challenges, we still had such an amazing time and could not be more happy with this unforgettable day. Thank you ElmRock Inn!

Choosing to get married at Full Moon Resort was the BEST decision ever, as it made everything else about the wedding planning process so much easier. Given that we decided to forgo a wedding planner, my husband and I were looking for a venue that felt "all inclusive," where we did not have to outsource and juggle several vendors on the day of. That being said, FMR offered everything we could have asked for - an on-site ceremony location, a beautiful reception venue, on-site catering (with amazing food) with a staffed bar, an after party location, lodging for our guests, and so much more. Because of this, we did not have to include any additional vendors for our dream wedding to happen (aside from a photographer). FMR was so considerate and thoughtful every step of the way. They were in constant communication with us as a couple and made sure that we were aware of all of the behind the scenes planning going on (how hard they were working) without overwhelming us. The staff working with us on the day of our wedding made sure that everything went off without a hitch - we could not believe how smoothly the evening went. Even our guests were talking about how smooth things went. All of our loved ones were shocked at how stunning of an evening we had. The vibe of the venue felt so laid back, which allowed us to focus on being in the moment and enjoying time with our guests. We are currently trying to convince everyone engaged couple we know to consider getting married there - it was just that amazing! If you are looking for an easy, "all-inclusive" feeling venue that simplifies your hunt for vendors, this may just be the place for you.

The Venue at Winding Hills was an absolute dream to work with for our wedding day. Their communication style was fast, clear and professional from the very beginning. The quality of their work and the value they provided was truly beautiful, as they went above and beyond to ensure our wedding reception was stress free and perfect. Heather, the venue coordinator, took matters into her own hands to help us find a solution for our seating chart when our original plan fell through. The staff at The Venue at Winding Hills took care of us the whole time and made our special day completely worry free despite some family issues we were dealing with. Our daughter and son-in-law had their wedding at City Winery Hudson Valley a few weeks ago and we are thrilled with our entire experience! We worked with Lerika from the very beginning when we first toured as our Sales Manager and communications with her throughout the process were perfect. Lerika also worked extremely well with our planner (Lauren F. from Wild Blooms – recommended by CW) and the two of them made sure all details were perfect. When we first toured CW, we loved all the different spaces and, due to a rainy wedding day, were very grateful for the many options. Although we intended for the ceremony to be by the river, the indoor space was beautiful and provided the perfect backdrop made even more beautiful with white flowers that popped against the brick and windows. And having cocktail hour within the bar area and restaurant, which they closed for us, made our event very private and allowed for sufficient seating during that time. The buttlered hors d’oeuvres were plentiful and the stations constantly replenished so they always looked stocked. Service was incredible throughout the day and our guests appeared to be served dinner all at once, and wait staff were very attentive. There were never lines at the bar during cocktail hour or the reception which was helped by the table wine service. We chose the Steak Bavette for our beef entrée and I was concerned the 6 oz standard portion would be too small so we upgraded to 8 oz which ended up being huge! And all the food served throughout the day was delicious! Lerika was attentive throughout the wedding day as was Tiffany, the CW event coordinator, who we did not meet until that day. Lerika and Tiffany anticipated our needs and made sure we were all taken care of throughout the day. Security identified a potential issue with one of our guests who had too much to drink and discreetly and professionally addressed it without our even knowing about it. We had more than 160 guests in attendance and the space was big enough to ensure it was easy to move around the tables while still feeling intimate. I love that we were able to place only two rows of tables on each side of the dance floor so everyone was close to the activity and never far apart. Our guests danced throughout the wedding which made it very fun. With recommendations from CW, we selected a florist (Laruen P. from Wild Blooms) and bistro lighting from Fox Haus that transformed the space and made it so beautiful. All the photos are absolutely gorgeous even though most were taken indoors. We also reserved the boiler bar for the guys to get ready which was fun for them and the Nest for the ladies which was spacious and beautiful. And lastly, we hosted an afterparty in the boiler bar for the friends of the bride and groom which was perfect to give them extra time with their close friends! CW hosts a combined food tasting for all couples with scheduled weddings and it gave us a great glimpse of what the actual wedding day would be like with plenty of special and personal touches for the bride and groom. I cannot say enough about how wonderful our experience was, and we continue to receive so many compliments from our guests! It was fun, it was beautiful, it was delicious, it was perfectly what our daughter and son-in-law envisioned!

A Private Barn Estate in The Hudson Valley

5.0

Slate Hill, NY
  • Up to 65 guests
  • Raw space
  • Indoor & outdoor
  • Starts at $3,000

As a kept-secret private property instead of a public business venture, we share our name, website and corrected address once in touch to discuss possibilities. To hint: we're in the Hudson Valley in the most adorable town, 1.5 hours from New York City; on rural acreage but mere minutes from idyllic Main Street. And as a coveted AirBnB of many years, those who celebrate can return again for years to come... Our six-bedroom barn estate built in 1790 on three acres of lawn and meadow uniquely marries under one 4,000-sq-ft roof a post-and-beam "cathedral" side with soaring 40-foot ceilings and a grand staircase, and a cozier cottage side with farmhouse aesthetic. Aside the manse is a secondary 1,000-sq-ft whitewashed open-space "raw" barn. And fun fact: We host only a handful of events per year on a first-come basis, so you can rest assured that you aren't just filling a slot at a popular venue that will then move on to the next the following day. Let your day be as special as you!

Why you'll love this venue

  • Has a dance floor to dance the night away
  • Provides setup and cleanup
  • Offers full flexibility in setup and decor

Venue considerations

  • Not wheelchair accessible
  • No all-inclusive dining options
  • Not for you if you prefer a more modern aesthetic
Awarded Best of Zola
As a wedding planner and designer based in NYC for over a decade, I’ve seen a lot of venues—and this one is truly special. The barn strikes that rare balance between thoughtful design and genuine warmth. It has a refined, NYC-designer sensibility—elevated, intentional, never kitschy—while still feeling relaxed, cozy, and grounded in that unmistakable Hudson Valley charm. The space itself feels like a home rather than a rental: intimate, eclectic, and quietly magical. It creates an atmosphere that immediately puts people at ease and makes celebrations feel meaningful and personal. What truly sets this venue apart is that it’s family-owned and operated, and you feel that care in every interaction. The owners are communicative, accommodating, and consistently go above and beyond to support couples and vendors alike. From a professional standpoint, that level of partnership is invaluable. On top of all of this, the venue is refreshingly budget-friendly for the experience it offers—something that’s increasingly rare. It’s a true hidden gem, and couples who find it are incredibly lucky. Book today for the most magical wedding home!

It was so special for me to have my wedding reception here. The space was absolutely gorgeous and everyone had the best time. The food was amazing and such a big hit, which is also what made me choose this venue because I knew the food would be great. We are so blessed to have been able to have our wedding at this venue.

Still riding the high from our wedding weekend! We were absolutely floored by all the work Jen and Ally and the whole Stagecoach team did to make our wedding weekend spectacular! They have several different packages that you can choose from which allowed us to find something that truly worked for us. We ended up having around 115 guests for the wedding and the space was just perfect! We had been to the Inn for dinner before and we knew we wanted to make food a priority. Chef Jerrel hit it out of the park for the rehearsal dinner, the cocktail hour/reception, and the brunch the next morning! Also because they have rooms upstairs, we were able to have our closest family stay and not have to worry about any travel! We couldn't recommend them enough!

Phoenicia Diner went above and beyond when communicating with my wife and I about options, and assisted us through the entire process. It was more difficult getting my suit tailored than arranging to have our wedding here. The food was outstanding and all our guests loved it, and they even made great NA beverages because my wife and I don’t drink (they ended up being the most purchased drink at the bar, actually). Aside from how good everything there was, the price is so reasonable when you consider you’re getting married in one of the most popular places in the Catskills with awards and nods from huge publications like NYT. It was so special to get married in the diner, and I would pick it all over again if I had to. I’ve been to a number of weddings at fancy places with bad food and atmosphere with nothing special about it. The diner was the opposite of that- excellent food, really fun atmosphere, and incredibly special.

I cannot recommend this venue more! Not only is it beautiful on the inside but Bryce and Courtney who help run the show put in so much time, effort, and energy into making it the best day you could imagine! After our initial meeting with Bryce it was a no-brainer to go with Novella’s. They were the only venue that said yes to all of our requests and let us make the wedding more catered to us as a couple (DIY stirrers, signage, centerpieces, etc.). They only do 1 wedding a day so you are their main focus for the duration of your day. He will answer your emails, texts, and set up meetings with you if you ask! He also added some ideas we wouldn’t have thought of and walked us through the timeline and process with our goals in mind. Our family/friend’s raved about the food during cocktail hour and dinner. Good portions and great quality! As the bride, I felt they ran a tight ship with no hiccups in sight and were easy to find if I had any questions. My guests said it was a true hidden gem that they didn’t know about but loved! They also have a deal with the local Pastry Garden to give you a custom cake included in the venue cost! The venue is within walking feet of a local hotel who are fabulous to work with and Bryce also let us use the outdoor patio for an amazing after party! Truly just good people to work with and SO easy to trust!

As the groom, I couldn’t have imagined a more perfect place to celebrate our wedding than Sylvan Ridge Farm. We had an amazing time from start to finish. The scenery around the venue is absolutely breathtaking and made for incredible photos and unforgettable moments throughout the day. The two houses on the property were fantastic and really added to the experience. The larger house was perfect for the bridesmaids to stay and get ready, while the smaller house provided a private and cozy space for my wife and me to enjoy together. Having those options right on site made everything so convenient and stress-free. Our coordinator, Alyssa, was absolutely phenomenal. She kept everything running smoothly with a well-organized schedule and made sure everyone stayed on track throughout the day. Thanks to her, we were able to fully enjoy each moment without any added stress. The barn itself is stunning — the lighting and overall atmosphere created such a warm, inviting setting for our reception. Our guests couldn’t stop complimenting the venue and how beautiful everything looked. Everything about Sylvan Ridge helped make our wedding weekend truly special. I would highly recommend this venue — and Alyssa — to any couple looking for a magical and unforgettable place to celebrate.

Having our wedding at Handsome Hollow was an absolute dream. Kate and her team are professional, thorough, and beyond helpful before and on the day of the wedding. The location and grounds are stunning! We chose to have our ceremony in the fern forest a little ways up from the barn - it's like walking into a fairytale. The barn is a beautiful reception space that's open, inviting, and even more magical after sunset under the glowing string lights! We had a few guests including a couple of our family members who required assistance walking at certain times, but that was not a problem at all... The team communicates like special special forces to make sure everyone is comfortable and anyone requiring assistance gets shuttled swiftly by an off road buggy wherever they need to go! We also got shuttled as Bride & Groom does have it's privelages :) It was such a relief to know everyone was taken care of. Staying in the guest house was fantastic. The morning of the wedding I got ready upstairs in the barn loft, while my wife had the farmhouse the with hair/makeup and all of that. It's such a cute house, and was so nice to not have any traveling before our big day. Everything you would need is stocked at the farmhouse and help always seemed readily available if needed. It was just the relaxed easy going atmosphere we needed to chill out as much as possible before the wedding. There are so many great nooks and places for photo ops at Handsome Hollow! For a summer day it wasn't too hot at all, maybe the elevation helps a bit with that! It was warm before the ceremony when we took some photos in the sun, but we just cooled down in the farmhouse afterwards. The ceremony in the fern garden was under cover of trees so it was perfectly cool (both temperature and vibes!) The barn just seems to stay cool also, so that was no issue at all. We didn't get a chance to eat our desserts, so the team brought them up to the farmhouse for us to enjoy after the wedding was over. It's that level of hospitality, and so appreciated. My only regret is that I couldn't split myself into two people so I could not only get married, but also see the food buffet, see the s'mores by the campfire, watch our first dance (we nailed it!!). Luckily we had a phenomenal wedding planner (Lauren / Wild Blooms Bridal), and phenomenal photographer (Joshua Brown) to compliment the venue! It was truly an amazing day, and we can't thank you enough. You cannot go wrong with Handsome Hollow!!!

Gigi, Matty, Brian, Angel, and others, are absolute legends and went above and beyond for us. This location can not be beat for a relaxing, rejuvenating, and peaceful visit. The team really went the extra mile to solve our planning problems (I had many) and made us feel like family. Some of the cabins are pet-friendly which meant the world to us as my father is blind and needs his seeing-eye dog to get around. We knew there would be no hassle having friends bring their dogs too! The rooms are cozy and accessible, for those with mobility issues there are walkways and cabins on flat ground. We dream about sitting around that camp fire with all our friends and family often and are forever grateful to have found Belleayre Lodge!!
