The Arnold House

5.0

Livingston Manor, NY
  • Venue
  • Up to 200 guests
  • All-inclusive
  • Indoor & outdoor
  • Starts at $25,000

Plan your dream Wedding Weekend with us at The Arnold House, nestled in the heart of the Catskill Mountains, a mere 2-hour drive from New York City. Elevating the art of weddings into a three-day celebration of love, The Arnold House redefines the wedding experience, offering a personalized approach tailored to you. Our curated wedding weekends are available for every season and designed for couples who yearn for more than just a single day of festivities. Peak season is considered mid May through the end of October and requires a minimum of 120 guests and a maximum of 200 guests. Off peak season is considered November through Mid May with a maximum of 90 guests. At The Arnold House, we don't just host weddings; we create a celebration that spans all weekend long.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Both indoor and outdoor options
  • Rustic charm with elegance
  • Has an energetic and exciting atmosphere

Venue considerations

  • No free parking
  • Not for you if you don't want a rustic vibe
  • Not wheelchair accessible
My husband and I had our wedding here this June and the team at The Arnold House was so amazing to work with throughout the process. I truly do not think we would have had as great of a weekend if we had done it anywhere else. Everything felt very personally cared for, they approach everything with a 'yes' attitude (and offered comparable alternatives if option A was truly not possible), and in general they were so hospitable and communicative that we never felt nervous about their ability to execute the wedding weekend. By the time we were heading into our wedding weekend we felt nothing but excitement to experience and see everything we and the AH team had planned and to share it all with our friends and families. As a venue itself there are a myriad of options to choose from for hosting all the different parts of a full wedding weekend, and we never needed to repeat using a location over the course of the 7 different scheduled events (rehearsal dinner, welcome drinks, ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, after party, farewell brunch). It was great being able to host the majority of our guests on-site as well, and minimized the amount of coordination we needed to plan in advance for off-site guests, like hotel blocks and transportation.

Skylark Music

5.0

  • Band or Ensemble
  • Serves Livingston Manor, NY

Jesse and Justin have been playing music together since they met performing in a band at Disneyland in 2001. After moving to Beacon, NY around the same time, it made sense to start an official wedding music business to share their love of music with some of the many happy couples getting married in the Hudson Valley. One thing they love about playing music for weddings is the variety that is required of them. Every gig is different and they all happen on one of the happiest days of the clients' lives!

Awarded Best of Zola
We could not have been happier with Skylark Music they were incredible to work with! From the very beginning, Justin spent months helping us think through every detail—offering great suggestions and thoughtful input that really helped set the tone for each part of the day. For our wedding, we had the Skylark ensemble play live music during the ceremony and cocktail hour, and they were absolutely fantastic. The live jazz and covers created the perfect atmosphere—elegant but still relaxed and fun. When it was time for dinner and the reception, Justin seamlessly transitioned to his DJ setup, keeping the energy flowing with an amazing mix of songs that got everyone on the dance floor. Having both live music and a DJ through Skylark was one of the best decisions we made—it gave us the best of both worlds and made the whole evening feel special and dynamic. We can’t recommend Justin and Skylark Music enough!

Frann and her entire team at Annaliese & Co. were amazing from my initial inquiry all the way through to my wedding day. Frann organized two hair artists (including herself) and two makeup artists to come to the bridal suite at my venue to get nine ladies ready for the day. Everyone was thrilled with their hair and makeup, and the artists were all so friendly and professional. I highly recommend them for your wedding day!

You know that all encompassing feeling when you’re revisiting a vivid memory? You can smell the fresh air, feel the way the sun hits your face just so, hear the voice of the loved one next to you, remember the joke that they delivered and instantly you’re laughing all over again. That magic is what I hope to capture as your photographer. It’s my job to hold those moments in time so that they don’t have to fade. You’ll forever be able to revisit the moment, see the exact way they smiled, revisit that incredible sunset, relive the memory and turn back time.

Awarded Best of Zola
We honestly feel like we didn’t just find a photographer, but a friend in Jessica! From the very first meeting, she made my fiancée and I feel so comfortable and at ease. Throughout the entire wedding day, she was not only professional, but her warmth and sense of humor really brought everything to life. What really stood out to us was how game she was for every idea we threw her way. We had a blast doing wedding portraits in an arcade, and when we decided to climb into a giant claw machine for a shot, Jessica was all in — no hesitation, just excitement. She was genuinely invested in making our day unforgettable, and it felt like we were having fun with a friend rather than just a photographer. The photos turned out absolutely stunning — capturing both the big emotional moments and all the quirky, fun ones we’ll cherish forever. Our friends and family couldn’t stop raving about how amazing she was! If you're looking for someone who will not only take gorgeous photos but also feel like a part of your celebration, Jessica is the one! We couldn’t be more thankful for everything she did to make our wedding day even more special.

Awarded Best of Zola
Eddie was so easy to be around that it felt like he was a friend who just happened to be taking photos rather than a professional we hired to be there. We never felt rushed or stressed, he gives clear and easy direction, and he even learned guest's names (and instruction in another language!) to help make everyone feel comfortable. He was patient and able to maintain control even when our large group was easily distracted. We had multiple calls with him to make sure we were on the same page, he always answered emails and texts quickly, and communicating with him was a breeze. Our engagement photos were on the hottest day of 2024 and he helped us get the shots we needed in one take every time, without literally melting. He has a unique eye for capturing candid pics and silhouettes, which is exactly what we wanted. We're in LOVE with our photos and he got them back to us much quicker than we expected. I would hire him again immediately!

Black Walnut Farm is an unbelievable venue that far exceeded our expectations for our wedding. Beyond the incredible property, the owners are excellent to work with from your first tour to even after your event. To start, the barn and the surrounding grounds look incredible and are so beautifully manicured. So many of our guests complimented the venue. The staff also blended very seamlessly with our caterer. We used Bridge Creek Catering, who were unbelievably on top of it, and between the venue and the caterers there wasn’t a single hiccup. Sarah’s day-of coordination definitely tied everything together and gave us a ton of confidence that event would run smoothly. We rented a tent for our reception and had it placed on the main lawn. The scene behind us, wild grass and a line of trees, is absolutely stunning in our photos. And the ceremony space in the woods is honestly magical. The farmhouse on the property, where the wedding party can stay for the duration of their weekend, is so comfortable and classic. The MASSIVE fireplace in the parlor is so amazing. And who doesn’t love a hot tub? We can’t say enough good things about Black Walnut.

Working with Scott and his band was the best decision we made on our wedding day. We had a very specific vision where we would have a jazz quartet during the cocktail hour and have the pianist and bassist play classical music during the cocktail hour. While this was an atypical setup (usually Cello and Piano), Scott's band was up to the challenge and they absolutely nailed it! I even got to get up and sing a Sinatra standard, and play a tune on trumpet with the cocktail band to my now wife! What great energy the group had, they welcomed me in with open arms and smiles, and we really couldn't have asked for a more perfect day!

The Garrison itself is absolutely stunning - even more beautiful in person - and the staff was warm, attentive, and professional throughout. Our guests are still raving about the food, and the entire space came together perfectly for both the ceremony and reception. What really made the day seamless, though, was the team that supported us. Annie, our day-of coordinator, was an absolute godsend. We were juggling unpredictable weather, miscommunications, and a whole lot of last-minute uncertainty, and she handled it all with such calm, measured grace. She kept things on track and gave us the gift of peace of mind - we truly couldn’t have done it without her. Fatima, my bridal assistant, was my right hand from the moment I arrived. She anticipated every need before I even had to ask - always three steps ahead, always composed, always kind. I felt fully taken care of, which is exactly what every bride hopes for. We’re so grateful to the entire team - thank you for making our wedding day so beautiful and so easy to enjoy.

Where do we even begin? My husband Junior has not stopped saying since our wedding day that it was the best day of his life—and I couldn’t agree more. Our celebration at The Wedding Foundry at Liberty View Farm was beyond anything we could’ve dreamed. We are eternally grateful for the care, heart, and effort that went into creating a day so unforgettable—truly a memory etched in time. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away—not only by the stunning setup, but by the team behind it all. Every member of the staff was exceptional, working seamlessly to ensure everything ran like clockwork. Billiam, Erica, Magic Cathy (yes, she really is magic!), Iván, and Juan—what a powerhouse of a team. You can tell this isn’t just a job for them; it’s a calling, and it shows in every thoughtful detail. One of the promises this venue makes is that you’ll be able to fully immerse yourself in the joy of your wedding without worrying about logistics—and let me tell you, they deliver. Every element was handled with care and professionalism, allowing us to focus entirely on celebrating our love and being present with our guests. Their collaborative spirit and meticulous attention to detail left nothing to chance. The venue itself is nothing short of enchanting. Nestled in a landscape bursting with vibrant botanicals, it offers a setting so breathtaking that it feels like something out of a dream. And then there are the florals—oh, the florals—brought to life by the incredibly talented Iván Torres Vega. Photos alone don’t do justice to his work; in person, it felt like walking through a fairy tale. And beyond his artistry, Iván’s generosity shone through—when my mom’s dress wouldn’t stay up, he literally stepped in and tailored it on the spot. Who does that? Absolutely magical. We’re still floating on cloud nine, and much of that joy is thanks to Erica of Clean Plate Pictures, whose vision and presence put me at ease (especially as someone more used to being behind the camera). Her team captured every precious moment so effortlessly—it all felt natural, never forced. We just got our teaser photos back, and if those are just the previews, we can only imagine how breathtaking the full gallery will be. And let’s talk about the food. As a group of serious foodies, our guests were thrilled—and still talking—about the menu crafted by the extraordinary Juan Romero. We opted for the upgraded, customized selections, and wow… Chimichurri steak, Mediterranean lamb meatballs, tacos al pastor, smashies and more. Every bite was next-level delicious. We also highly recommend upgrading to include the flower bar—such a creative, memorable way to send your guests home with something special—and booking the extra hour on the farm. Also: don’t sleep on the silent disco package! It was the ultimate grand finale. Most of our guests had never experienced one before, and it turned out to be a massive hit. I can’t wait to see our video footage and relive every electric, joy-filled moment. Billiam, thank you for welcoming us to your slice of paradise and helping us create something truly magical. You and your team didn’t just host our wedding—you gave us a story we’ll be telling for the rest of our lives. With deep gratitude, Kayla & Mizraim Batista

As a natural light photographer, I have a deep love for capturing the most beautiful moments that life presents. My passion lies in preserving these precious memories through my lens. I strive to showcase the magic and authenticity found in everyday moments. Through my photography, I aim to create images that inspire and evoke emotions in those who view them.

Awarded Best of Zola
Lisa was hands down one of my top vendors for my September 2024 wedding. Ultimately when booking vendors we had two non- negotiables- affordability and character. I met with several photographers before her and either their pricing was not within our range or I didn’t feel any “connection” with them. When I met Lisa over FaceTime I was in Target with my two toddlers because I had my schedule mixed up. She laughed about it and we were able to have a productive meeting despite the mix up. I hired Lisa not long after and I am so glad I did. Besides from being a phenomenal photographer, her personality is what put the cherry on top. She is detail oriented and assertive - like myself- and had a very efficient way of photographing our bridal party where we were even able to enjoy our cocktail hour without having a first look. She was excellent and extremely patient with our two kids. Our family loved her as did we! We were even able to get her out on the dance floor for a bit! We wish we didn’t live so far away otherwise we would be using her as our photographer a whole lot. Thank you Lisa for being such an important part of our day and for having such an incredible heart.

I cannot emphasize enough how much we loved working with Matthew. I'm going to break this review down into a few areas that I think were particularly meaningful to my experience working with Matthew: Photo Style I think Matthew's portfolio speaks for itself, but I just appreciate so much how his style blends dreamy romantic shots with a photojournalistic approach. My wedding photos really feel like they captured not only the memories of the day, but the feelings we had. Pre and Post Wedding Communication From our initial booking, Matthew was extremely easy to talk to, and made it easy to understand and talk through the details of our contract and what we could expect. I think for people who are planning a wedding for the first time don't realize how much having a vendor who is patient, detail-oriented, and willing to hold your hand and guide you through the process of booking, understanding your goals, and planning for your special day matters, and Matthew could teach a masterclass in this. The pre-work Matthew did of planning, researching the venue, coordinating, and communicating effectively and efficiently was next-level professionalism, and really sets the bar for what it means to book a wedding photographer. I also think it's important to note that all of the post wedding communication has been top-notch – I think it would be understandable to call the job done after the check is paid, but quality of our communication has been consistently amazing. Day-Of Logistics / Shot Direction Matthew and his second photographer followed the plan we had set pre-wedding to a T. They were actively leading the coordinating and making sure we had all of the necessary people ready to keep to our timeline. When it was time to do different set shots (family, bridal party, ceremony, sunset), Matthew had locations in mind and was able to give guidance that made us feel comfortable and natural while getting so so many amazing shots (in very constrained timeframes). Personality I think Matthew has a very high emotional intelligence, and he was so good at genuinely making everyone feel comfortable in subtle ways. My family and my husband are all very camera shy, and notoriously hate getting their photos taken. There were so many little interactions and things that Matthew did and said that made each person feel comfortable in their own way. A few examples that come to mind: - At one point, my mom was leaning against a staircase, and Matthew took a portrait of her and told her she was a natural at posing – up until that point, she had been feeling and looking nervous, and after that she really opened up and looked so happy and comfortable. - My dad is extremely camera shy, hates being on camera and typically looks terrified and self conscious in photos. Matthew said a few things while he was taking our photos that I think really made my dad focus on how excited he was for me and my wedding, and you can just see how happy and loving he is in the photos.

Lynette and Bryndon are the best around! I used them for both my photo and video, and they give you nothing but perfection! Everything came out better than I expected. They arrived on time if not early. They were very respectful in the church. They learned my entire bridal party’s names so instead of saying “you” and pointing, they said their actual names. They were very encouraging to my husband and I throughout the day, and very helpful with anything we needed. They also were very helpful before the wedding day. Lynette helped me figure out timing for the day, and that truly helped it run smoothly and on time. They gave us a large “sneak peak” within two weeks of the wedding, and then had the entire wedding album back around 3 months. The videos came back about a month and a half after the wedding. They shot my cousins wedding back in 2021, and my friends wedding in 2023 so by my wedding they truly felt like the are apart of my family. I highly recommend pioneer media for your photography and videography needs!!

DJ Lou Paris is a Wedding DJ out of the Hudson Valley area of NY, providing an extraordinary service to my clients. My wife and I had Lou DJ our upstate wedding and it was more than we could have dreamed of. From the beginning, he was nothing but professional. He met with us multiple times prior to the event to go over music selection, flow of the ceremony day etc. His website was very easy to use and allowed us to have a large role in our music selection for the day, even for the reception dance portion. Everything was reviewed at least 3 times to ensure there were no hiccups, and also to make sure we wouldn't have to worry about anything on the ceremony day. On the day, Lou came in very early to setup and his equipment was extremely unobtrusive and sounded amazing. From the ceremony to reception (and especially cocktail hour), the sound was fantastic and there was not a single hiccup (even with an outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour!). His flow through the reception was so smooth - and as a former college radio DJ, his music choice to fill in the gaps between the 'must plays' we sent him were impeccable!!! If you have a big heart for music and want it to be the backbone of any great party while having one of the most professional guys out there - Lou is 100% your guy. Thanks again Lou!!!!

A good friend of mine has said that my brand is to care. She isn’t wrong-my brand is one of caring because my being is one of caring. I’ve been a wedding photog for 14+ yrs. I find that being a wedding photog is a gift - I barely have the words to describe how special it feels to be invited into clients’ most momentous & intimate wedding moments over & over again. I’m a champion for the weird & whimsical, the fun & funky - even & especially on wedding days. Plan your day the way you want to, trends be damned. Let your wedding day reflect your joy. That’s what we’re all there to celebrate, anyway. ✨

We cannot recommend Sweet Alice Photography enough!!!! If you are getting married in the Hudson Valley area, you won’t find a more professional, personable or talented photographer than Erica! When we decided to spend our lives together, we knew we wanted a wedding that was an authentic presentation of who we were; a celebration of two families coming together that was filled with color and nature. We called upon family and close friends to help us with their talents for many elements of our wedding, but knew we needed a professional behind the lens to capture our big day. Erica at Sweet Alice Photography seemed like the perfect fit for us. Her honest and candid photos tell a story that feels real without excessive filtering. We felt so comfortable working with Erica. She was cheerful, communicative and accommodating through every step of the process. Regular email updates and words of encouragement arrived in our inboxes unprompted, and even when we had to make a last minute venue change she was so incredibly supportive. She really felt like part of the family! We loved the preview shots she sent us within days of the ceremony and couldn’t wait to share them with all our guests. We were surprised to receive all our images so quickly and in an adorable gift box with the coolest flash drive!!!

It is clear that they do this because they are genuinely passionate about it and enjoy it. They were very attentive and clear about everything which made the planning a breeze and put us both at ease. Any requests or questions we had were met and answered with no problems. They run this venue like a well oiled machine. The day went so smoothly, we didn’t have to worry about a thing. Tricia made sure we ate and were enjoying ourselves throughout the whole day. The Lippincott is so beautifully decorated and the grounds are gorgeous. We really only had to provide our floral centerpieces and whatever extra decorations we wanted. They provided the tablecloths, runners, napkins, and lots of decorations. Best of all this venue is so affordable. As a person, Kathryn is simply a joy. She is warm, easygoing, and fun. She made the process so easy from start to finish and we actually miss getting to chat with her! We are a same-sex, interfaith couple, and came to the table with family drama, a crazy dog, and a mashing of cultures. Kathryn didn't bat an eyelash. She has a true inclusive spirit, and that continues to mean a lot to us. If you want to be able to relive your special day with profound joy for years to come, just choose Kathryn!
