“Marcus did an amazing job as the DJ for our wedding at the Prospect Park Boathouse! Prior to the wedding, we completed a worksheet on the timeline and our song preferences, and then had a planning meeting with him where we went over all the details and he gave us advice on flow and timeline based on his extensive experience DJ-ing weddings. Through all our interactions, we could tell how detail-oriented and experienced he was. The Prospect Park Boathouse can be a tricky venue with its short load-in time and long, narrow layout, but Marcus knew it well and planned accordingly. We also had a Vietnamese/Chinese wedding; in addition to a DJ, we also had a pianist with a singer, and a bilingual emcee. This added some complexity in terms of timeline and switching between the singer and the DJ, but Marcus coordinated well with everyone, kept track of the timeline, and handled all transitions between live music and DJ sets seamlessly. He also showed up a little early to make sure all equipment was set up well and did a mic check during the cocktail hour. During the dance portion of the night, the dance floor was packed all night and people did not want to leave! He played all the songs we wanted (along with additional ones he selected) and all the transitions and mixes were fantastic and kept the energy/vibe high. Many guests commented on how great our DJ was! Even though we had a different emcee, we know that Marcus would have done a fantastic job as an emcee as well - he is warm, friendly, gracious, and charismatic. He is not only a great DJ but also a fantastic human being!”

Jim, the coordinator at Direct Entertainment frequently checked in with us, asked us questions about ourselves, and genuinely made us feel like he cared about us and our special day. He was great to work with leading up to being assigned our designated DJ and videographer, and even after, he checked in to make sure we were happy and that all of the planning was going well. Our DJ, Jan, absolutely exceeded all expectations we had as a DJ for our wedding day. When we met with him before the wedding, we gave him a few of our favorite songs but told him to use his discretion as what was most important to us was having everyone dancing and enjoying themselves. WELL, did he know what he was doing!!! Our dance floor was filled the ENTIRE NIGHT. We had 220 guests at our wedding, and 0 of them were sitting. We have guests who didn't even know we had a photo booth or voicemail booth because they truly did not leave the dance floor one time to look around. Jan reads the room perfectly and truly has a niche for knowing what people like to hear. Our MC Matt was also so great! He helped keep the night on track and made sure we were enjoying ourselves the entire time. He was fun, entertaining, and kept the vibes going! We have had 10 guests ask for our DJs information so they can book him for their own wedding because he really was just that good. After just the first dance set alone, our guests were excited and ready to party because he set the tone perfectly! We also booked a saxophonist through JPBRO as well as a dry ice machine, indoor firework fountains, and the snow effect and they were all perfect! The snow was by far the best addition! It was practically real snow (way better than what we were expecting) and all of our guests went crazy over it! The saxophonist was also a great touch and played practically every song throughout the night which our guests loved! And of course the dry ice machine and indoor firework fountains looked so great in our wedding pictures! Request Jan as your DJ- he is worth every penny and you will not regret it!!! He is absolutely a pro at what he does and you can guarantee that with him, not only will you have the best night of your life, but your guests will as well!”

“Ryan is truly the jack of all trades, the absolute kindest human being, and incredibly professional. We are SO glad he was a (major!) part of our wedding day! He was super communicative when we had questions, helped give us some advice, and *!!!even learned a new song just for us!!!* We had just attended a friends wedding and the music was super unrelatable to my fiance (husband now lol) and our friends. We were bummed and worried - hopeful that ours would be fun and get people out there! Ryan was AMAZING. He curated the perfect playlist, set up THREE different locations to play, AND was super cool to honor all our specific wishes. 10 mins to the end I went to him and said eh we are tired such a long day, we can probably wrap up - he assured me he had some incredible songs for the last few, told me to rally- he DID. “100000000000000% Book Skyline Lights band. 1000/10, 5 stars, They are ICONIC. The amount of times we heard this is the best band anyone had EVER heard at a wedding we lost count. The biggest decision we had to make was choosing the band and Skyline Lights exceeded every possible expectation and beyond. The band brought the vibes all night. The biggest thing we looked for was to not have the song list be "traditional" like you hear every single wedding play, we wanted a massive range from the band and they delivered beyond what we could have hoped. The guests couldn't believe it. They played Britney Spears, to Avicii, to Bob Marley, hip hop, disco, (Elliot raps) it was insanely good. 10 members, 5 singers, it was truly so original and one of a kind. And out of every vendor we worked with Elliot was by far the BEST, most kind, most accommodating person we worked with in our whole wedding. He worked with us to curate the perfect set list. They have incredible range with over 600 songs from every genre (even the newest songs like Chappel Roan). We curated everything with him to the perfect set list. Of all the decisions you have to make planning a wedding choosing Skyline Lights was by far the best choice we made. Would choose them over and over again.”

No Macarena DJ stood out because they offer a range of services, including live music, and they’re musicians themselves. Eddie was easy to communicate with, and was there for us through the whole experience from beginning to end. The second it was dance time, they got the crowd up and out onto the dance floor in a heartbeat, and most didn’t leave the dance floor until the night was over. DJ was good, knew what songs to play, when to play them, and played the ones I wanted. And the emcee was awesome, funny & easily able to get people involved in whatever!!
