My husband and I got married two weeks ago at The Sanctuary and had the best night! Our guests loved the many features of the venue (the pier, patio, tent, and indoor space), complimented the food and drinks, and we were all extremely impressed by the high quality service provided by the bartenders and waiters. Working with Amelia and Kat on the day was a pleasure and we couldn’t thank them enough for supporting us as we got set up that morning, and throughout the day. Our wedding day was the first time we interacted with either of them, and it was a pleasant surprise to have so much support on our side. Throughout the planning process we worked closely with Alfonso. Alfonso does a great job selling The Sanctuary and was available to answer our questions along the way. There were definitely some things we needed to dig into a bit more than we thought we’d have to - creating a detailed timeline for the day based a few examples provided, develop clearer floorplans of the venue for our vendors to ensure they understood the space, putting together a table map for our dinner setup, renting/purchasing the sound equipment needed for our ceremony on the pier, finding an alternative rehearsal space, and hiring a day of coordinator to support with decor, set-up, flow, and cleanup. Reading other reviews of the venue was super helpful to ensure we were asking the right questions and following up on pieces that seemed unclear. If you’re looking for an affordable (relative to the rest of NYC), dynamic, and interesting wedding venue, and you’re willing to put in the work or hire a wedding planner, this is definitely a great contender!

We could not have imagined a more perfect place to celebrate our wedding than at Astoria World Manor. From start to finish, the experience was seamless, heartfelt, and above all, unforgettable. Tony, the Chief Operating Officer, was incredible in helping us coordinate every detail and making sure everything was settled for our big day. His professionalism and warmth gave us such peace of mind, and we truly felt taken care of at every step. William, the Maitre D', and Vicente, our Venue Coordinator, were equally amazing. They kept everything organized, neat, and running smoothly, which is no small task on a wedding day. One of the most special moments for us was having our first dance inside the venue before any of the guests came in. It was important for us to share that moment while the room was still pristine after our first look, and the team made sure it happened beautifully. William and Vicente kept everyone who arrived a little early entertained outside, making sure we had that private memory together. It is something we will cherish forever. The staff coordinated so seamlessly with all of our vendors, making setup effortless and stress-free. Every detail, from the flow of the evening to the care taken with our guests, showed just how experienced and attentive the team is. The service was flawless, and the atmosphere felt warm and welcoming from the moment we stepped inside. As someone who grew up in Astoria, it meant so much to me to celebrate such an important milestone here. The space was stunning, the food was delicious, and the entire staff made us feel like family. We truly could not have asked for more. Thank you, Astoria World Manor, Tony, William, Vicente, and the entire team for making our wedding day not just beautiful, but extraordinary. The rose room is such a unique venue in LIC that offers incredible views of the city!! However, the liberty to transform the venue into any type of space is what I loved most - its a gorgeous blank canvas that lends itself to any theme. Erica has been so great to work with - unfortunately the wedding planning process can be filled with roadblocks and hurdles but the rose room has by far been the least complicated vendor to work with!

The Wythe Hotel was the perfect venue for our fall 2025 wedding. My husband and I hosted about 100 guests and wanted the evening to feel like an intimate dinner party, which turned out to be surprisingly hard to find in NYC. Most restaurants cap at around 80 people, and most traditional venues are designed for 150 or more. The Wythe struck that perfect balance. From the first time we visited, we fell in love with its aura and atmosphere — the brick walls, warm lighting, and “accessible chic” style were exactly what we were looking for. What really sealed the deal was that all catering comes from their onsite restaurant, Le Crocodile, which is exceptional. (Don’t miss the orzo cacio e pepe, the tuna tartare or the Veracruz cocktail!) Our event planner, Cassie, was amazing — organized, responsive, and clear about timelines and decisions. She made the entire planning process smooth and stress-free. The wedding day itself ran smoothly. Every member of the Wythe team was attentive, friendly, and on top of every detail. So many of our guests commented on how seamless the day felt and raved about the food and service. We can’t wait to go back to Bar Blondeau and Le Crocodile to celebrate anniversaries and future milestones. It truly was the most magical day, and we’re grateful to the Wythe team for making it so special and personal!

We held our Friday night Welcome Party for our wedding weekend at Lillistar and we can't say enough good things about the event, the venue, and the events team! This is a stunning and hip venue for this type of event and the decor at Lillistar brings such a fun vibe we didn't feel the need to bring anything in. The drinks and food were plentiful and super good and the vibe created was perfect! From our first emails and tour to all the planning and logistics, Sydney and the team were extremely responsive, easy to work with, and really made the event so so special, seamless and fun for our guests. With every detailed question we had, Sydney replied with "of course!" The team also had an eye for detail and was able to provide us with a floor plan and set up that worked for our guest count and event type. We were able to come in early to set up no questions asked. The team really thought of everything and we barely had anything to do ourselves. We had the entire inside as well as outdoor area and were provided a satellite bar and food set up outdoors. The team moved the furniture around so that it would allow for a perfect guest flow. The venue didn't ever feel too crowded. The food was amazing - our guests raved about it all! Sydney was very helpful with setting our menu including passed apps and stations for our guest count and timing. The team was also really helpful with speeches and helped us get set up and feel comfortable. At the last hour the staff even turned the lights into a clubby atmosphere and our guests started dancing! Thank you thank you!

3 West’s coordinator Marc and his staff went absolutely above and beyond for our wedding. They took my homemade centerpieces and made the solarium and the ballroom especially look truly breathtaking– but the hotel on its own is a true old New York style gem. Off-peak pricing with the room block was a great deal and worth every penny. Guests were directed from room to room quickly and with ease, communication was prompt and helpful, and the party went off without a single hitch. Thank you 3 West for bringing my dream to life!

We just got married in January 2020 and were lucky enough to find the Library Hotel in our venue search. Our wedding had 25 guests and was the most wonderful intimate wedding on their enclosed rooftop 14th floor area. The Poetry Garden was the perfect ceremony location with beautiful outdoor views and gorgeous lighting, while the Writer's Den was wonderful for our reception, right on the same floor with a long single table set up, enough room to dance, and was a beautiful space to begin with so we didn't need to do much to decorate. Margo was a dream to work with, always communicative and so helpful on the day of. No need to hire a DOC here -- Margo went above and beyond to help us set up, handle delivery with vendors, pass on our tips, coordinate our music timing, etc. The waitstaff and bar team were absolutely amazing, and the lead bartender was very knowledgeable, friendly and approachable. The rooms at the hotel were gorgeous and the staff left us presents in the form of chocolate and champagne on our wedding day. The outdoor patio was available for us to take pictures in the middle of the winter while it was snowing and you can see the New York Public Library from there. I highly recommend this space for anyone looking for an intimate wedding venue wiith catering and bar provided in-house. We visited a few other venues and none compared.

The Italian Academy provides a Public Safety guard, custodial cleaner, optional chairs and AV equipment, and a house manager to assist with making your planning easy and pleasant. The Standard, East Village

4.0

New York, NY
  • Up to 50 guests
  • Select services
  • Indoor & outdoor

Located off Cooper Square in one of New York’s most vibrant, artistic neighborhoods, The Standard, East Village is cozy, charming, and eccentric in equal measure—very much in the spirit of its surroundings. You enter the 21-story tower through an original tenement-style building before ascending to unparalleled views of Manhattan from the hotel's crowned jewel, The Penthouse. There’s a quiet, calm garden tucked away at street level that in the warmer months is filled with lush topiaries and floral arrangements, and in the cold season transforms into a magical winter wonderland. On the second floor, The Overlook is a cozy room perfect for a rehearsal dinner or cocktails, connected to The Perch which overlooks The Garden. Downstairs, there's Narcissa restaurant, which boasts its own private terrace, the street-side Café Standard, and NO BAR, a highly inclusive new wave gay bar with custom artwork and a disco ball.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Exudes style
  • Has an intimate feel for a small guest list
  • Private area for the wedding party

Venue considerations

  • Lighting and sound are not included
  • Not wheelchair accessible
  • Better for more intimiate events
Having never been privy to what goes into a wedding reception, I was in the dark about a lot. So, I had difficulty understanding what to choose and how much our choices would cost. If it wasn’t for the close proximity to the church, I may have chosen a different venue for our reception. The food and beverage was the biggest expense and the biggest source of confusion. The real disappointment of the F&B was the limited amount of food. The shrimp appetizer was good. However, there was so little, if you didn’t grab some, it was gone. Of the three entrees to choose from, the only one that was any good was the fish and the portion was less than one would reasonably expect for an entree. The chicken was dry and hard, a huge disappointment. The lemon tart dessert was good. The space itself is very nice. Fortunately, it was just the right size for our reception.
