Hey, I'm Emily! A natural light photographer based in Portland Oregon who specializes in true-to-color edits and authentic captures. Like many photogs out there, I picked up a camera really young and haven’t put it down since. I never wanted to forget parts of my childhood and young adulthood, so it became second nature for me to document the things I loved with photographs in a very real and candid way. Fast forward to today, I couldn’t feel luckier that this hobby became a career focused on preserving life’s most precious moments for others. Who will be the girl behind the camera hyping you up while capturing some authentic moments?

My inspiration comes from my time spent in stunning landscapes from the sea to the mountains. I love capturing real moments through photography. I have over 10+ years of photography experience and love working couples to tell their unique stories. I am originally from Dallas, Texas, but based in Portland, Oregon and San Diego. I went to film school at the University of Texas in Austin. Besides having a camera in hand, I enjoy camping, hiking, skiing, surfing, drinking kombucha, painting, singing, and traveling.

Our story began with our mutual love of craft beer at a small brewery in Portland, Oregon. We met on a double-blind date, and while our friends and the other half of the date never spoke again, we never stopped talking (and yes, pickup lines involving beer do work, apparently!). Even though craft beer can strengthen just about any relationship, our shared love of adventure sealed the deal.

I am a PNW girl, wife of my middle school sweetheart, Logan, and mama to three lazy kitties and a puppy. Most of the time you will catch me reading, taking long scenic drives with Logan, or sitting in watching a rom-com. Being engaged, and now married (still can’t believe it), has given me such a deep perspective of what a being a bride is really like. From day one, my goal is to capture what was real, with nothing forced or too posed. I want to tell stories. I want you to look at my images and feel something.

As a photographer, my ultimate goal is to create images that have that same “time machine” effect. I aim to capture moments that can be relived through a single photograph: the smell of your newborn's hair, the softness of their ears, or the pounding of your heart on your wedding day. I want my work to serve you for a lifetime, in ways you might not expect. It's an honor to be part of your story, and I hope my work will touch your family’s lives for generations.

I started taking photo’s when I was a little kid, it started with clouds and beautiful sunsets on an old wind up camera. Fast forward to my senior year in high school, my mom bought me a Canon powershot A95 as a graduation gift in 2005 (Thank you mom) and that gift changed everything and allowed me to take endless digital photos. Today I am shooting with a Nikon D600 and I love it! On my down time I enjoy playing instruments with my amazing wife Sophia and watching movies snuggled up on our couch with some wine. I love getting outside and exploring the city as well as getting lost in nature on some hikes.
