My wife and I wanted to get married in a beautiful space, but we didn't want to be forced into a traditional, religious ceremony. Sanctuary Hall was the perfect venue! It's beautiful, with stained glass, old wood, lots of space, even a balcony. It's a very old building, with a good feeling to it. As soon as we saw it, it was easy to picture our ceremony there. Steve was a joy to work with - he was super-accommodating, the paperwork was simple, and he offered us all the options we needed. Additionally, the price was far less than most other places we had looked at. There was a minister available if we wanted, but we chose to have an ordained friend perform the service, which worked out fine. Steve was willing to move around furniture, let us use whichever rooms we wanted for preparation, changing, signing of documents, and so on. There was also an organist – Grant – available for the service. He was also amazing to work with, coming up with arrangements of music for us. Everyone was able to meet for a rehearsal a few weeks before the ceremony, which helped things run smoothly. The actual ceremony was beautiful, with everything coming together as planned. They even rang the bell for us as we left the church :) I highly recommend Sanctuary Hall to anyone looking for an amazing space in Portland. Easy to get to, garage parking nearby, and just an all-around excellent experience. ----- This review was produced without the use of AI, generative technology, grammar-checking/suggesting software, chatbots, or other assistive tools, other than a simple spell checker. The Evergreen was the perfect venue for our wedding. We were pretty much set on this venue from the first visit even though we had imagined we would want an outdoor venue. They were the very first venue we toured and ended up being the measuring stick to which we compared every venue to. Mack and Ginger were caring, communicative, thoughtful, and fun to work with every step of the way. The venue was a beautiful, blank canvas with lots of great natural lighting - stunning on its own, and made for the perfect backdrop for our decor. I can't imagine our wedding without Mack coordinating - it was clear she cared deeply about making our day special and fun and it never felt like this was just another wedding she was working. Shout out to the bar staff for absolutely nailing our speciality cocktail which was a lychee margarita (I’m gonna need that recipe lol). I will forever recommend this venue to couples. THANK YOU!!!!
