Our wedding was beautiful, we couldn’t have asked for a better day or venue. The castle was a stunning backdrop for our wedding. We had our rehearsal dinner, ceremony, and reception at Meyer’s Castle and each piece came perfectly together. The newly redecorated bridal suite is gorgeous and my bridal party and I felt like royalty getting ready. The florals and gardens were stunning and there is an Instagram worthy photo spot around every corner. Our coordinator, Eva, did a great job setting up all of our decor and was very communicative throughout the planning process. Eva and the MC team accommodated everything we wanted to include on our special day and our guests had nothing but wonderful things to say about our wedding. Everyone loved the food and even loved the table wine, numerous guests took photos of the wine so that they could buy a bottle later on. We are so glad to have started the rest of our lives together after saying “I Do” at Meyer’s Castle; surrounded by family, friends, and 2 beautiful peacocks that roam the grounds.

It’s honestly hard to put into words how much this venue, and the amazing team behind it, meant to us. My husband and I got married here just a couple of weeks ago, and it was the most perfect day we could have ever imagined. So much of that is thanks to this place and the people who made it all happen. From the very beginning, Jillissa was absolutely incredible. She was the kindest, most organized and responsive person - always quick to answer our (many) questions, and she sent us everything we could’ve possibly needed, from videos and photos to charts and layouts. She really took the time to get to know us and what we were envisioning, offering suggestions or possibilities/options along the way when we were left unsure. By the time our wedding day came around, it genuinely felt like we were working with a friend - someone who truly cared and had our backs every step of the way. When wedding planning became chaotic and stressful, Jillissa provided encouragement, support, an uplifting spirit at exactly the right times. Even in those inevitable last-minute moments where things came up, she jumped in without hesitation. She went above and beyond in ways we’ll genuinely never forget. The venue itself is absolutely beautiful. The town of Marshall is sooo full of charm. It's walkable, historic, and full of kind, welcoming people. It felt like the perfect place to bring everyone we love together. And Schuler’s catering was unreal!! Our guests couldn’t stop talking about the food. The entire service staff was absolutely amazing - so warm, so professional, and completely on top of everything. Because of them, the whole day flowed effortlessly, and we got to just relax and be in the moment without a single worry or hiccup. I wish I could thank them more. What really blew us away, though, were the little touches. We had a private tasting with custom menus and a welcome sign at Schuler's, a sweet card waiting at our hotel (The Royal Hotel - perfectly located AT the venue), and even a handwritten note and gift from the venue (a gift that truly meant more to us than I can express online). Those are the kinds of things that don’t show up on a contract but come from people who truly care, and it showed in every single detail. Choosing this venue was easily one of the best decisions we made. We’ll always remember how beautiful it was (our first pull to the venue itself), but more than that, we’ll remember how it made us feel. So loved, so supported, and so genuinely celebrated. I’ll forever be grateful we got to start our marriage here. This venue will forever hold a special place in my heart and I hope the same for others.

My husband and I got married at North Lake October 4th, 2025 and had the most beautiful backdrop to the day. North Lake was incredible to work with and were so accommodating. Our guests couldn't stop talking about how wonderful the venue was. Dan really has put so much thought behind every detail from not having any curbs or steps making it incredibly handicap accessible to constantly making upgrades that only add to the experience. My husband and I are both huge baseball fans and we got married on a Cubs Brewers postseason game that started at 2pm. The tv in the groom's room was not working and Dan brought a tv from his own home and had it set up in time for the game. Any questions I had were promptly responded to by Danelle and she was so sweet and personable. If you're looking for a venue where you have the control of which vendors to work with while not missing out on the location and luxuries of an inclusive venue I'd highly recommend North Lake.

Everyone says “Something will go wrong on your wedding day.” They don’t know the magic of the Morris Estate. It’s impossible to describe how perfect our wedding day was, not only for me and my husband, but also our wedding party and our families. Everyone involved got to spend the long weekend relaxing, having fun, and celebrating at this beautiful property without any worry of getting assigned random tasks or cleanup duties— the Morris Estate staff was ON IT every step of the way. At the helm was Ryan Bergstrom, our coordinator, who made the incredibly complicated task of planning a wedding feel easy. As an artist, I wanted every element to be unique and intentional, and was quite frankly worried that the Estate wouldn’t be amenable to a more avant-garde event. I approached them with the idea of hanging a large tapestry painting in the chapel and they got right to work with how they could make that happen. There were no requests that went unheard, and it was clear Ryan was a fantastic collaborator and coordinator in all aspects of planning. Plus, anything or anyone that you need, they have a great recommendation on deck— we found this to be true when seeking an officiant for our ceremony as well as a florist. Trudi and Cherry Road Homestead knocked the florals out of the park. The actual wedding ceremony couldn’t have gone more smoothly, with a comprehensive rehearsal in the chapel and the changing rooms in the basement, everyone was able to get ready on time and relax leading up to the ceremony. With about 100 people in it, the chapel felt intimate but gave guests plenty of room to breathe. It was a short, beautiful ceremony that was tailored exactly to our needs as a couple. Yet another fabulous aspect of working with the Morris Estate was the ease of transition throughout events. Cocktails were in guests’ hands before I could even finish bustling my dress. We never felt rushed, yet everything managed to happen on time. Ryan did a great job taking the time beforehand to meet any vendors not directly from the Estate, so everyone knew exactly what they needed to do their part. The reception was unbelievable. I’ve planned other events, designed movie sets and installation art, and was truly blown away by what they accomplished. It was so exciting to see all of the love and hard work that went into making our vision come to life and see the excitement on guests’ faces when they walked into the tent. It was colorful, magical and totally surreal. Now, to talk about the food. With the estate catering both the rehearsal dinner and reception we got to try just about everything on the menu. We were very pleasantly surprised at our tasting before the wedding. The Estate Manager Nate, Chef Tom and their team had tons of options for us that were as beautiful as they were delicious. Arguably, the most difficult part of working with the Morris Estate was having to pick just a few of the options for our customized menu because they were all. so. good. Our guests had so many kind words about how fun and joyous the entire evening was, and instead of worrying who was going to help clean up at the end of the night, the Morris Estate had it fully covered. Everything was organized back into boxes for us to take home the next morning. I’m sure I’m forgetting so many other wonderful things that the staff did for us, but we will forever be grateful for such an incredible long weekend full of love and celebration. TLDR: Everything was perfect.

Fernwood really is a hidden gem. The grounds are beautiful and their rates very affordable! They were very responsive to my many questions, and very helpful on the day of our wedding. They even let us use an extra classroom for the groomsmen to get ready in. They were also really flexible. You can’t really go wrong here, and the garden itself can be your decor! We also left one item behind by accident which we were able to pick up a few days later. Lots of “areas” to choose from for your day, too. Only complaint was the poison Ivy growing along some of the pathways, which were already fairly narrow. We just used alternate paths and it was no big deal!

From the very first interaction, the communication with Amy, the event manager, was easily accessible, prompt, and exceeded all of our expectations. She and the entire staff catered to our every need and went above and beyond to ensure our special day was perfect. The Armory was absolutely the perfect venue for our August wedding. We got so many compliments from our guests about how beautiful the venue was! Megan served as our coordinator and she was amazingly organized, detail-oriented, and quick to respond to any questions we had throughout the process. She was also very flexible, willing to accommodate to our preferences, and work within our budget. Table decor, food, drink packages are all included which made coordinating the reception very easy. The food is through Navarre Catering is delicious - lots of great options to choose from!

They were super accommodating of our needs and flexible to ensure we had the best experience possible. Throughout the entire process, Rush Lake Memories had great communication with us! The day of our wedding, the event space was extremely clean and well organized. The Bridal and Groom suites were really nice to get ready in, and everyone was so welcoming! The venue is absolutely beautiful, and having a beautiful ceremony space in the same location as the reception was really convenient for us and everyone who attended. We are so glad that we discovered Stonegate Manor for our small family ceremony! To start, it is so close to Lake Michigan. We were able to get a photo op at the beach in our casual clothes before the ceremony. Then when we arrived at Stonegate, there was plenty of space in the beautiful manor house for us to change into our ceremony outfits. And speaking of photo ops, the grounds are beautiful and have tons of options for beautiful backdrops. We chose the Fairy Garden as our location, and since we were planning our wedding on a very short timeline, we didn’t have any extra decorations. We didn’t need them! It was the perfect secluded spot for us to say our vows with our family members, both human and canine (did we mention Stonegate is dog friendly?!). As I mentioned, we were planning our wedding with only about a month’s notice, and at first we thought that we’d just go to the courthouse. We can’t say how glad we are that we chose Stonegate instead. While we wanted the day to be a casual, stress free event, we also wanted it to be special and memorable. Having an elopement package that includes flowers, cake and other extras eliminated planning stress and decision fatigue, and Prudy is so easy to work with and was able to accommodate the requests we did have to make the day uniquely ours. If you are planning on having your wedding at Stonegate Manor, expect personalized customer service, consistent communication, and a warm welcome when you arrive for your big day.
