Palais Royale Ballroom is one of South Bend’s finest event spaces. The moment you step inside, it is easy to become captivated by the elegance.

The 9000 square foot Palais Royale Ballroom is sure to dazzle you. From the polished hardwood floors to the 35-foot ceiling, featuring an elegant crystal chandelier and gilded with gold-leaf, you will be swept away in its grandeur. The tall windows draped in lavender velvet provide natural light to the space. And, the original musicians' balcony overlooking the ballroom offers a breath-taking view of your event as well as provides the perfect place for unique photo opportunities.

    Fairytale ballroom

    I wanted to get married here since I first saw the venue. It had everything I wanted and it gave such an elegant and glamourous feel. The place is stunning and it is also historic. If you want to go for a dramatic, fairytale and romantic ambience this is the place for you! I will recommend it to all my friends and family who still have yet to wed.

    The perfect venue!

    The Palais is prefect for couples that want that classic ballroom, elegant wedding feel. The food is amazing and the staff is excellent.

There is a parking garage, across the street on Colfax and Main Streets
Yes, all our facilities are wheelchair accessible.
Set up, clean up, tables, chairs, china, flatware, glassware, and linens
You gain access to the room at 10am-12am, day of event.
In the event a cancellation is necessary, 50% of the deposit is refundable if the event is canceled in writing more than 6 months prior to event date, any services rendered will be deducted from the refund. Deposit is non-refundable if event cancels less than 6 months before the event date
Our venue can accommodate up to 450 guests
The deposit required to secure the date with signed contract is the room rental and is due immediately to secure date.
50% of the estimated event charges is due 90 days prior to your event, another 25% deposit is due 30 days prior to your event. The remaining balance will be due seven (7) business days prior to your event.
We accept credit/ debit (3% processing fee), check (up to 30 days prior to event date), certified check, cashier's check, money order, and cash.
Yes, you can have it in the reception area with guests sitting at the guest tables or you can rent the Morris Lobby if available at an additional cost.
Yes, we have two rooms side by side that can be used for the wedding party.
Yes, we do have our required in-house cater that must be used as we do not allow outside catering.
State tax is 7%, historical fee is 2% and 20% service charge.
Yes, we do offer tastings after you secure the venue at no cost. If you would like to schedule a tasting prior to securing the date, the cost starts at $250 per person. If venue is booked, then cost of tasting will go toward your deposit.
Yes, standard tables, chairs, plates, silverware and glassware is provided. We do have upgrades available at an additional fee.
Yes, you can bring in a cake from an outside licensed baker.
Cake cutting is complimentary.
No, all alcohol must be purchased through us due to our license and state law.
Yes, for consumption and cash bars.
Yes, you are allowed to bring in decorations. You are responsible for placement and cleanup of these items.
Yes, you can hire your own vendors. We do offer a preferred vendor list if needed.
Yes, if everything is at our venue, you will have a Event Specialist to make sure your day runs smoothly. Arriving in the morning to direct vendors, helping you get down the aisle, to seeing you through the reception.
Yes, we have a built-in stage that can accommodate a band and/or DJ.
Security is required for every event. We can offer standard security or an off-duty, uniformed police officer. Price is dependent.
Vendors can arrive early as 10am, day of event.
Yes, The Morris Lobby if available at an additional cost.
Yes, we do have a microphone available.
One men's and one women's; both are large. Men's has about 8 stalls and women's has 12 stalls.
