Sundance is located in the village of Millburg Michigan, amongst the “Wedding Belt" of Southwest Michigan. Just 1.5 hours from Chicago and just over 2 hours from Detroit…making it a perfect middle area for your out-of-town guests. The owners Amelia & Kirby Briske are cutting-edge Designers. This Husband and Wife team have taken an abandoned bank, a historical blacksmith shop and a farm equipment station and turned them into a one of a kind Venue. Full lush greenhouse like venue with many plants, vines. gardens all wrapped up with an urban hip essence. ! This place is ALIVE - a very unique venue … Truly nothing like it!

    Perfect!

    This venue was perfect! Amelia, Kirby, and Liv were all so helpful and sweet over emails, during our tour and final walkthrough, and on our wedding day. They had great recommendations for other vendors they’d worked with, and this helped our planning process go quickly and smoothly. Liv was so wonderful on our wedding day and we could tell she really cares about couples having a great day! We picked the venue because of how beautiful it is, everything that’s included, and we’re so grateful we picked here. Our guests commented about how unique and pretty it was!

    Amazing

    Sundance & The Secret Garden was the perfect spot for our wedding. From our first conversation, Liv and Georgia walked us through every detail of how the day would work, which made planning so much less stressful. The venue itself is stunning with gorgeous grounds that served as a beautiful backdrop for our ceremony and celebration. When we realized we'd forgotten a tablecloth for our sweetheart table, they didn't hesitate to lend us one without making a big deal about it. Even when our caterers fell through, their calm and supportive attitude helped us find a solution and enjoy the moment. We honestly couldn't have pulled off our day without Liv and Georgia's care and dedication—they truly went above and beyond for us.

    SO special for the most perfect day.

    The second we stepped into Sundance & The Secret Garden, I said this is IT. The venue itself was the garden of my dreams. I felt like a fairy princess walking through those enchanted spaces, and honestly, there's nothing else like it out there. Their attention to detail was flawless, and they worked behind the scenes to ensure every moment unfolded exactly as we'd hoped. The whole experience felt special and unique, with incredible value for what we received. Amelia (owner) and Liv's (manager) kindness and responsiveness made the planning process smooth and joyful, and our guests couldn't stop raving about how gorgeous the setting was. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect day, and we're so grateful to this team for bringing our vision to life.

    Amazing Venue

    The venue itself was/is absolutely gorgeous. The pictures on the website, or social media, help show how beautiful it is, but in person, it is so much more beautiful. The communication from the owners and managers were excellent. Our caterer backed out about 4 months prior to our date and the manager helped us by offering different recommendations within our budget. We did not have to deal with this since our weather was perfect, but they have a very good backup plan that works well for unseen weather. Overall, I will recommend this venue fully to anyone interested.

    Our Wedding Experience

    Sundance & The Secret Garden was the perfect choice for our wedding venue. From the moment we first reached out, the owners, John and Sarah, provided us with flawless communication and were so sweet and helpful throughout the entire planning process. The venue itself is absolutely gorgeous, with beautiful decor and an elegant, intimate atmosphere that had all of our guests raving. They went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed on the day of the wedding, and their attention to detail was impeccable. I would choose this venue over and over again. it is truly a hidden gem, and we feel so lucky to have celebrated our special day there.

Yes. The ceremony will take place inside the venue. We create an aisle and your guests sit at tables.
Yes. We have beautiful indoor bathrooms with full handicap accessibility.
Yes. Sundance meets all local and state fire, handicap, electric, plumbing and building codes.

Yes. We have heaters available. In the months of May and October we require a prepaid $250 surcharge. If the heat is not needed on the day of your event the surcharge will be refunded. If your event is not in May or October and you'd like to utilize the heaters, a 2-day notice and $250 surcharge will ensure we can get them set up for your event.
Yes, you can hire a professional caterer of your choice or from our wonderful local vendors list
No. In fact, we require meals to be supplied by a professional caterer or the catering department of a grocer (Hardings, Whole Foods etc.) You are welcome to have a friend bake your cake, cookies, pies or cupcakes but please keep food safety concerns in mind by avoiding ingredients that easily spoil.
The timeline is yours to plan but we do recommend that a ceremony takes place between 3:30 and 5:00 p.m. to give you & your vendors time to get ready & set up.
No. We require all reserving parties that plan to serve alcoholic beverages at their event to hire Luther Events. You will email them with an idea of what you would like to serve, number of guests and an event timeline and they will email you back an estimate. Please request our preferred vendor list for their email address.
Yes. We highly suggest purchasing through Sue Luther’s supplier: Liquor Cabinet in St. Joseph, MI. Liquor Cabinet also owns the Kegerator equipment at Sundance. They will deliver Co2, tap the kegs, ice and cups and any ingredients you purchase from Liquor Cabinet.
Yes. We offer a complimentary 1-hour rehearsal the day before event. Friday events rehearse on Thursday evening from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. Saturday events rehearse on Friday morning from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Sunday events rehearse on Saturday morning from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.

Yes. With the exception of the bartender. We ask that you please check with us before hiring a vendor that's not on our preferred vendor list. We want to ensure your event team is made up of reputable professionals who have your best interests in mind.
There are many choices for guest accommodations in the area. See the Location section of our website.
We require a credit card number be on file with The Barns Management for incidentals, broken rules or damage (like a hotel does). The card is NOT charged up front. This is asked of you so that you will help us preserve the condition of the property for future weddings like previous couples did for you.
No – The $1000 event deposit is not refundable. The deposit amount is applied to the full rental fee. The remaining balance is due 8 months prior to your wedding date.
No. We've tried holding dates over the years but we've found that it's only fair for everyone to book dates with a signed rental agreement and paid event deposit.
No. We love our pets too. We tried this many many times.It just did not work for the couples or the barns grounds.
Yes. Yard games are allowed in the lawn directly behind the dining hall. They are not allowed in either ceremony site.
No. Smoking is not allowed inside the venue. Smoking is allowed outside the venue in designated areas but not by the entrance.
