“Booking with Black Tie Entertainment was the best choice we could have made. Our initial call with Matt Johnson to see what services were provided was an extremely thorough and engaging. My husband and I felt so comfortable with the services he recommended and appreciated the time he took to talk through typical timeline for DJs and coordinators leading up to the big day. We booked a DJ and month of coordinator and were wow’d. Our DJ, Chris Laing, was extremely professional in the way he led our introductory and timeline calls. Our coordinator Becca Manning was very kind on our introduction call. “The Hook Club made our wedding dreams come true. My husband is Dominican and I am from New England, and therefore we were looking for a bilingual band that could play a very wide range of music - from American wedding classics, to Pop, to Reggaeton, to Merengue, to Bachata — and a group that could MC the evening in Spanish and English, and bring the energy to keep the party going.  We went with Hook Club’s 7 piece DJ Band, and they were above and beyond fantastic. They curated a setlist that somehow, despite the wide range of music, flowed together and was cohesive. I can’t express enough how talented they are vocally, instrumentally, professionally, and as performers. The dance floor was absolutely lit; even my brother who was on crutches and had a torn labrum couldn’t stay away. It makes me tear up thinking about how much energy, positivity, and happiness they brought to our night — they will always have a special place in our hearts. They are also true professionals - the planning process was easy, they were prompt in all communication, and on the day of they handled venue-related hiccups with grace. They were the first vendor to arrive to ensure a thorough set up, and the last to leave.  They are truly such a special, one of a kind group, and I cannot recommend them enough. Of all the many decisions we made in planning our wedding, choosing THC was by far the best decision of them all. Although our wedding was back in August; our friends and family are still talking about The Hook Club, exlusively referring to them as “ the best wedding band they have ever heard before”. We had a fairly diverse crowd in terms of age, background, taste in music and their ability to please that wide range of people is a testament to their talent. THANK YOU TO THE HOOK CLUB !!!”

We first met him at a vendor expo at our venue, and right away we were drawn in by his energy, the quality of his sound system, and how effortlessly he mixed music live. From the first meeting, it was clear he was not only super experienced but also genuinely passionate about what he does. He really took the time to get to know us and what we envisioned for the day, which made us feel completely confident that we were in good hands. Leading up to the wedding, DJ Diamond stayed in close contact and scheduled a few check-ins to help guide us through the planning process. That alone helped ease a lot of the stress. He also gave us access to his app, which was a game changer—it let us update our timeline and playlist whenever ideas popped up, even on the go. On the wedding day, he showed up prepared with all our music selections ready to go and absolutely nailed it. The dance floor was packed for over three hours straight! He knew exactly how to read the room and blended all our favorite genres—pop, country, Spanish, even a few musical songs—into a perfect flow that kept the energy up all night. He also handled our photo booth, which was such a hit with our guests. He even had someone stationed there the entire time to help, which was such a thoughtful touch. “DJ Conner was absolutely amazing and my husband and I couldn't be happier with the dancing music and all the music played throughout the evening. He listened to our music needs, which were not the clearest at times, but nonetheless he came up with a great playlist that fit the diverse age range and what we were envisioning. It seemed that all the guests were dancing on the dance floor at some point in the evening. Just recently a guest from the wedding reached out commenting how Conner was the best wedding DJ they have ever heard. Conner brings a cool, sophisticated vibe that is truly great for all age demographics. Additionally, Conner was super professional, on time, and had state of the art sound equipment. He also did an incredible job micing the night and keeping the pace. The fact that I didn't want the night to end speaks volumes to how much I enjoyed our wedding and a big part of that was the music. Hiring the right DJ is one of the best wedding decisions we made and was also way more cost effective than a live band. The Photo Booth added such a fun touch to the evening and was definitely a huge hit with all the funny props! “Marcus did an amazing job as the DJ for our wedding at the Prospect Park Boathouse! Prior to the wedding, we completed a worksheet on the timeline and our song preferences, and then had a planning meeting with him where we went over all the details and he gave us advice on flow and timeline based on his extensive experience DJ-ing weddings. Through all our interactions, we could tell how detail-oriented and experienced he was. The Prospect Park Boathouse can be a tricky venue with its short load-in time and long, narrow layout, but Marcus knew it well and planned accordingly. We also had a Vietnamese/Chinese wedding; in addition to a DJ, we also had a pianist with a singer, and a bilingual emcee. This added some complexity in terms of timeline and switching between the singer and the DJ, but Marcus coordinated well with everyone, kept track of the timeline, and handled all transitions between live music and DJ sets seamlessly. He also showed up a little early to make sure all equipment was set up well and did a mic check during the cocktail hour. During the dance portion of the night, the dance floor was packed all night and people did not want to leave! He played all the songs we wanted (along with additional ones he selected) and all the transitions and mixes were fantastic and kept the energy/vibe high. Many guests commented on how great our DJ was! Even though we had a different emcee, we know that Marcus would have done a fantastic job as an emcee as well - he is warm, friendly, gracious, and charismatic. He is not only a great DJ but also a fantastic human being!”
