He is incredibly easy going and I felt perfectly safe leaving the cocktail hour set list in his hands. He understood the vibe we were going for and just ran with it. “DJ Charlie was calm and honest throughout the process. He was very clear about what he needed in terms of music line up based on our timeline of events. He gave us suggestions based on his experiences with other weddings and was flexible. The planning was a bit rocky because the timelines needed to line up. Which ours did not. So please be careful and make sure that your wedding timeline and the DJ’s contract timeline match. Since ours didn’t match up and there weren’t any events that could have been edited out, we had to pay for an extra hour. The extra hour was worth it because we were able to fit everything we wanted to do at our wedding. DJ Charlie was able to keep us on time throughout the wedding from ceremony to the end of the reception. He gave the bridal party special queue instructions to keep in time with the ceremony music. Though it would have been nice to have music playing in the ballroom and the reception tent while dinner was happening. The music selection had a good mix of what we asked for. Though the specific songs that we wanted for the party dance weren’t played. At the end of the night, it didn’t matter as it was a four-hour event and a good portion of the guests had to leave early. He was considerate of the people on the dance floor and even played rumba songs for my great aunt and uncle who were dancing a rumba number. The lighting set up was great. The pin lights were placed in the right areas in the ballroom and reception tent, and it really livened the place up. There were also moving ceiling projection lights, which really made up for the wall projection that we didn’t have time to set up. Overall, we would recommend DJ Charlie for any special event.”

“The photographer, videographer, and photo booth was absolutely perfect and our guests had a blast! However, even after going through the work of submitting a Spotify play list and adding do not play songs or DJ played the wrong version of our first dance song (I checked and we had the correct version listed on our playlist we sent over), he also played songs from our do not play list to the point I, the bride, came over to ask if he had the wrong list. He admitted he was using songs from the do not play list as he was not paying attention. I would also like to note, though our wedding was more casual, our DJ was dressed in a sloppy manner. His shirt was half untucked from his pants, there were stains on his shirt and pants. Besides a few hiccups, direct Entertainment was wonderful to work with!”
