“We're writing this 4 days after our wedding, finally recovered from the absolute banger of a wedding that Alex DJ'ed. Our bodies are still sore from dancing all night and not sitting down. No one warned us how physically demanding it was to dance an entire night non-stop. We first met Alex when he was DJing our friends’, Addie & Loui’s, wedding in 2022. We were so impressed by how much thought and creativity went into his mixes and his ability to adapt the music based on the crowd's energy that night. The wedding planning process went very smoothly! During our calls, you could really tell how passionate Alex is about what he does. When we mentioned our favorite songs, he was so enthusiastic and immediately started working on mixes during the call. We loved the app he provided (Vibo), which allowed us to add songs and answer timeline questions for every aspect of our special day. On the wedding day, everything went smoothly and with no technical difficulties. He had enough equipment and staffing to handle the outdoor courtyard ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception (which all happened on separate floors). He played every song we asked for and was even able to fulfill a last minute request to surprise the bride with a flash mob that the groom organized. Our guests loved the PhotoBooth, which printed duplicates for our guest book. The booth attendants were very helpful providing instructions to fill out the guestbook. Alex is an incredibly talented artist, and you could tell that every detail of our dance party was expertly curated to make sure no one wanted to leave the dance floor. He poured his heart and soul into DJing that night, and every guest made sure to tell us how our night felt less like a reception and more like a set at a music festival. He seamlessly segued between genres and made sure he was able to fit in as much of our requests as possible. “We hired DJ Chuck from mydeejay for our wedding on April 6, 2024 at Kent Island Resort, and it was the best decision! From our initial phone call, after interviewing a few different DJs from different companies, we knew Chuck would be the right fit. Chuck arrived early to set up for both our outdoor ceremony and indoor reception. We had many musicians in the crowd who were blown away with the talent on the stage. Not only did they display excellent musicianship, but their energy was unparalleled. They got the crowd on their feet over and over again, myself and my blisters included. The main singers came out into the dance floor during the bangers, which our guests loved. Each singer had a repertoire that perfectly suited their talents, and we loved how they exploited that. It was really fun to see them indulging in off-the-charts vocalizing. (And also rapping that had me shook!) We truly felt like they were having as great a time as we were. Jesse served as an excellent MC, introducing our toasts in a humorous and timely manner. Our communication was great, including on the spot decisions (we asked for an extra 15 minute break during dinner, because when they were playing, no one could stop dancing!). Jesse was calm, professional, and light-hearted. I was very impressed by how he carried himself. The planning process we used was thorough and simple, including only two zoom meetings. The Hook Club has tons of songs to choose from, and can probably learn anything you throw their way. Another huge bonus of The Hook Club is that they have so many members, so they can cobble a group together that best suits your desires. Again, I cannot recommend this group highly enough. I feel like they truly made the night, and we are indebted to them! Many guests said it was the most fun they've ever had at a wedding! Hiring this group might have been our best investment of the night. Props and endless thanks to everyone who tried so hard for us.”
