“Our wedding weekend at Black Walnut Farm was nothing short of extraordinary. I had always dreamed of more than just a single day or a few hours of celebration. I imagined a full weekend surrounded by our favorite people, celebrating a love I had hoped for my entire life. Black Walnut Farm made that dream a reality in the most magical way. My fiancé and I got engaged in June 2024 and waited until August to begin planning so we could savor being engaged. Black Walnut Farm was our first venue visit. During their open house, we explored the property while enjoying signature cocktails and bites, and we immediately felt at home meeting Jim. His warmth, charisma, and genuine spirit set the tone for everything that followed. The estate is breathtaking. Acres of beauty, an enchanting forest, whimsical gardens, and a farmhouse filled with stunning, eclectic antiques. Within minutes, we knew our search was over. As we left, Jim smiled, saying he could tell we had found “the one.” The planning process was seamless and stress-free. As someone who goes with the flow, I was amazed by how organized and supportive the team was. Timelines, documents, and communication were clear and thoughtful. Sarah, co-owner and Jim’s partner, made the experience effortless. While the venue is largely a la carte, Sarah provides a curated list of trusted vendors so you never feel lost. Together, Sarah and Jim are an unmatched team. We chose the weekend package, allowing us and six guests to stay in the farmhouse from Thursday through Monday. Walking in felt like stepping into a dream. We were greeted with a handwritten card, a charcuterie board, and champagne. Fresh banana bread, muffins, and cookies were displayed, the refrigerator stocked with snacks, drinks, and s’mores essentials, and a bar cart held homemade old fashioneds. Every room included robes and fresh water by the bedside, and fireplaces were ready with stacked firewood. Our honeymoon suite was spacious and cozy, with its own fireplace, sitting area, and clawfoot tub. Black Walnut Farm even created a custom flag with our names and named a tree in our honor, a meaningful and unforgettable touch. On Friday evening, we hosted our rehearsal dinner for fifty-five guests in the barn, which perfectly blends rustic elegance with antique details and warmth. The staff’s pride and attention to detail were evident, and Jim, Sarah, or Lindsey were always nearby to ensure everything ran smoothly. After dinner, my bridesmaids and I returned to the farmhouse for a cozy night by the fire watching Father of the Bride. Our wedding day was pure magic. We got ready together in a sun-filled room, sharing laughter and happy tears. We exchanged vows in the forest, a fairytale setting. The celebration continued in the barn with cocktail hour, dinner, dancing, and dessert. Guests loved the barn loft, complete with a photo booth and a phone for leaving messages. Although the weather prevented our planned bonfire hour, Sarah and Jim graciously extended our time in the barn, ensuring the night remained just as special. This weekend was the best experience of our lives. Our friends and family still talk about how incredible it was. We are endlessly grateful to Sarah, Jim, Miss Lily, and the entire Black Walnut Farm team for creating a wedding weekend we will cherish forever.”

“We could not be happier with how our wedding turned out at Mountainville Manor. The venue is beautiful, but the real magic is Lauren and James and the rest of the Mountainville Manor team. They were so accommodating and hard working, making our day feel personal and stress free. It was a huge help to have their vendor recommendations as a starting point, and all of the vendors were great too! I have had so many of our guests tell me how much they enjoyed the wedding, especially the food. Someone even told me that the steak was the best they ever had! All of the food was so good. I only hope someone I know decides to get married there so I can experience Mountainville Manor as a guest. It was special to have all of our family and friends in a place that made us feel like family. The day felt easy and fun for us and our guests. Thank you Mountainville Manor!”

The Caboose
Rating: 5.0 (4 reviews)
Hudson, NY
  • Up to 184 guests
  • All-inclusive
  • Indoor & outdoor
  • Starts at $45,000

Welcome to The Caboose, a stunning 3,500-square-foot space steeped in Hudson Valley history, reimagined for an open, modern feel that’s both communal and cosmopolitan. With its soaring beamed ceilings and expansive cathedral windows, The Caboose is truly the best wedding venue in Hudson, NY and the perfect spot to host your next seated event, where guests can enjoy a seasonal farm-to-table menu curated by Executive Chef Nicole LoBue. After dinner, continue the fun with dancing and drinking, or simply step outside to watch the sun set on our lush private garden filled with over 14,000 perennials. Whatever you decide, The Caboose is the space to enjoy all the modern amenities you’ve come to expect from a venue like ours — including killer sound and PA systems and aesthetic finishes like warm woods, cool marbles and stone, and hand-finished metals, all accomplished without sacrificing our commitment to being 100% carbon-neutral — because we love our planet as much as we do our guests.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Both indoor and outdoor options
  • Picturesque garden backdrop
  • Has a fun and festive vibe

Venue considerations

  • Not wheelchair accessible
  • Best for events with big guest lists
  • No on-site guest accommodations
“We had a roundabout journey to The Caboose, but I couldn't be happier that it's where we landed for our wedding in September '25. From the jump, we appreciated the gorgeous space, their commitment to doing right by the planet, and the affiliation with Kitty's—some of our favorite food in Hudson. The combination of a beautiful garden and stunning indoor space made us feel like we were safe no matter the weather. Every time we visited, the garden got better. We loved how lush and colorful it was for our day. We enjoyed working with Caitlin, the venue manager. She was creative and flexible and willing to work with us to do a few things a little differently (like have the ceremony in a different spot in the garden). The food was truly incredible—we still have people raving about it! We appreciated that because we were right on the edge seasonally, we were able to choose the summer menu instead of the one for fall, which felt just right for the day's weather and feeling. Because we had our tasting in February, we weren't able to try most of the items we had, but we trusted we were in good hands—and we definitely were. The kitchen team was also incredibly accommodating with our guest's dietary restrictions—everyone felt very cared for, which is what we hoped for the most! We had live music as well as a DJ and everything sounded truly great in the space. The staff working on our day was SO kind and helpful—people made mention of how warm everyone was, too. I saw many a chitchat at the bar, just because they were so lovely! Just a note, too, that while The Caboose was pricey, we were totally amazed by the value and all that they take care of. We looked at dozens of venues—from full-service spots to DIY operations—and kept coming back to the mix of creativity, value, and quality that The Caboose offered. The fact that they take care of the food, drinks, furniture rentals, lighting, sound system, and staff—and all at such a high caliber—unheard of! We truly couldn't have done it without them. “We are so grateful we found Vanderbilt Lakeside for our wedding weekend. The location is absolutely beautiful and created the perfect setting for our celebration, but what truly made the experience exceptional was Henrietta. She is an absolute gem. Planning a wedding that also included accommodations for the weekend came with a lot of moving pieces, but Henrietta was incredibly thorough, organized, and accommodating throughout the entire process. She was always available to answer questions, provide guidance, and make sure every detail was covered, which made everything feel as stress-free as possible. The entire team was wonderful to work with, and the food prepared by Matt was absolutely delicious. Our guests are still talking about how much they enjoyed the meals. From the planning process through the wedding weekend itself, everything exceeded our expectations. If you're looking for a unique venue with a stunning location, amazing food, and a team that genuinely cares about making your event special, we cannot recommend this place enough. It was the perfect place to celebrate with our family and friends, and we'll always look back on our wedding weekend with wonderful memories!”

The venue has a modern industrial vibe. Aaron, Laura and the whole Wire team were very accommodating and kind from day one. This venue is all inclusive. We were were able to book hotel blocks for our guests. The rooms are clean, comfortable and modern. We were able to stay in the bridal suite (Heron Suite) for a total of three nights. This room is beautiful, it has a large 4 poster bed, sitting room and huge bathroom with large walk in shower. We had our rehearsal dinner at the Patrick Henry ( one of their restaurants on site), which is adjacent to the venue property. The food was delicious and gave off a casual vibe for out of town guests as they were arriving. The day of the wedding the bride and groom have their own beautiful getting ready rooms. The bridal getting ready room had a lot of natural light and salon style chairs for hair and makeup. The morning after the wedding we had our brunch at the Day line Roof top bar, which is another restaurant on the property. The food was a delicious breakfast buffet. If you are looking for a beautiful venue thats all inclusive that your guests can stay at all weekend long and enjoy themselves, this is it!”

“When we started planning our wedding, we knew that we wanted our guests to truly experience the simple beauty of the Hudson Valley. That is what led us to the Abeel House. Our entire day was magical. I walked down the aisle on a little pebble path, surrounded on both sides by wildflowers. Our wedding guests were seated on hay bales in the prairie, the sun on their backs and the stream behind them. After our ceremony, we celebrated in the restored barn behind the historic Dutch stone house. We split the barn into three sections — one to seat our guests for dinner, one for the dance floor, drinks, and dessert tables, and one for the local bluegrass band we hired. As evening came, we turned on the twinkle lights in the barn and danced the night away. You could see the stars through the open windows.”

“As a wedding photographer I have been to an incredible number of venues and Locust Hill Barn is a complete stand out. The barn is a bright airy space, with beautiful grounds. Everything you need is right there with little effort. You have a ceremony site, woodlands, farmland, pond, and space outside for guests to roam around. The cocktail hour outside is beautiful, I especially love the lounge area under the tree shade. It also helps that this barn can house large weddings. I would highly recommend!”
