Well-Dressed Events is a full-service wedding planning and design studio serving New Jersey, New York City, and the Hudson Valley. We work with couples who have high standards, full lives, and no interest in managing every moving part themselves. From the first planning decisions through the wedding weekend, your dedicated lead planner guides the process, keeps everything moving, and makes sure the entire experience feels clear, organized, and personal to you.

We don’t believe your first planning decision should be figuring out how much help you need. That’s why we offer one comprehensive full-service planning experience: The Standard. It includes vendor sourcing, budget management, design direction, logistics, planning tools, ongoing communication, and complete wedding weekend execution. You’ll have one dedicated lead planner from start to finish, backed by the full Well-Dressed Events team. It’s the level of access, direction, and ownership we would expect if we were planning our own weddings.

    SIMPLY THE BEST!!!

    Well-Dressed Events is SIMPLY THE BEST! Kristen was our planner for our wedding and I could cry over how amazing she is! The venue we chose was a blank canvas and we had to bring in everything ourselves, which was super daunting. Kristen was with us every step of the way, and really shined on the day of the wedding especially. She is just so much fun to work with, super helpful and attentive and just an all around pro. She took care of everything for me and accommodated even our craziest of requests. I love her to pieces! I can not recommend getting a planner enough, it is sooo worth it, and 100/100 recommend Well-Dressed Events : )

    Kristen and the Well-Dressed events team was an absolute dream to work with for our wedding! They should be at the top of your list when looking at wedding planners! The first time I talked with Kristen I felt like I had just made a new best friend. Kristen was there every step of the way to help and alleviate any stress we had! Our signature experience, The Standard, covers the planning process from start to finish. This includes vendor sourcing and outreach, budget development and management, creative direction, floor plans, hotel blocks, transportation, guest logistics, timelines, vendor coordination, rehearsal management, and complete execution of the wedding weekend. You’ll have a dedicated lead planner guiding the process, backed by the full Well-Dressed Events team.
The Standard begins at $22,500. Your final planning fee is based on your timeline, wedding location, staffing needs, guest count, and the scope of the wedding weekend. We charge a flat planning fee rather than a percentage of your wedding budget, so the cost of our services is clear from the beginning.
A day-of coordinator typically joins closer to the wedding and executes plans you have already made. A full-service wedding planner leads the process from the beginning. We help build and manage the budget, source vendors, review proposals and contracts, guide the design, create the logistics, and manage the wedding weekend. Well-Dressed Events exclusively offers full-service planning because the decisions made early directly affect how smoothly everything comes together later.
You will always make the final decisions. Our job is to do the research, narrow the options, explain the tradeoffs, and give you an honest recommendation so each decision feels manageable. You remain involved in the parts that matter to you without becoming the person responsible for keeping the entire planning process moving.
Yes. We handle the initial legwork by curating the right options, confirming availability, gathering the information you need, and scheduling consultations. We attend vendor consultations, review proposals and contracts, help refine packages, and give you an honest recommendation before you book. Once each vendor is hired, we continue managing the process while keeping you informed.
Yes. We create a personalized spending strategy based on your overall target, priorities, guest count, location, and the realities of the market. As proposals come in, we review costs, recommend adjustments, track commitments and keep the budget current. We also provide automated payment reminders so upcoming vendor payments do not become one more thing you have to remember.
Creative direction is included in The Standard as part of the full planning experience. We develop a personalized lookbook, establish the overall visual direction, source rentals and décor, review creative proposals, collaborate with your florist and other creative vendors, and create multiple to-scale floor plans. We guide the design, but we are not a floral studio or rental production company.
Well-Dressed Events plans weddings throughout New Jersey, New York City, and the Hudson Valley, with a primary hub in Jersey City, New Jersey. Our weddings take place at city hotels, private estates, country clubs, historic properties and full-service wedding venues throughout the region. Travel requirements are reviewed during the inquiry process.
Absolutely. Many of our couples live outside the area where they are getting married. We act as their local planning partner, handling vendor research, venue logistics and the details that are difficult to manage from another city or state. Strategy calls, Voxer, email and the planning portal keep the process organized and accessible wherever you live.
That is completely fine. Many couples hire us after securing a venue or one or two priority vendors. We will review what is already in place, identify what needs attention, build the remaining planning roadmap and take the lead from there. The Standard is still a comprehensive full-service experience, even when a few early decisions have already been made.
Most couples hire us 12 to 18 months before their wedding, but the right timing depends on the date, venue, location and how much has already been completed. The Standard includes up to 16 months of planning, with extended planning available when needed. A shorter timeline is possible when our calendar and the scope of the wedding allow.
Yes. You will have a dedicated lead planner from kickoff through your wedding weekend. That person will know your wedding, priorities and working style, with the rest of the Well-Dressed Events team supporting the process behind the scenes and onsite. You will not build a relationship with one person during planning and then be handed to someone unfamiliar with your wedding.
The Standard includes complete planning and onsite coverage for the wedding day plus one additional wedding-week event. That may be a welcome party, rehearsal dinner, farewell brunch or intimate ceremony. We approach the weekend as one connected guest experience rather than treating the wedding day as an isolated event.
We specialize in high-end, full-service weddings throughout New Jersey, New York City and the Hudson Valley. Our work includes black-tie city weddings, private-estate celebrations, country-club weddings and full wedding weekends. Our clients care about how the wedding looks, but they are equally invested in thoughtful hospitality, smooth logistics and giving their guests a genuinely good time.
Well-Dressed Events exclusively offers full-service wedding planning. We do not offer partial planning, month-of coordination, or day-of coordination as standalone services. Our work begins early enough to guide the decisions that shape the budget, vendor team, design, guest experience, and logistics, rather than stepping in after those decisions have already been made.
Our full-service planning experience is best suited to weddings with overall budgets beginning around $100,000, excluding our planning fee. The right fit also depends on guest count, location, venue, priorities, and the scope of the wedding weekend. During your initial consultation, we’ll talk honestly about whether your plans and investment align with the experience we provide.
Well-Dressed Events was founded and is owned by Kristen Ligas. After years of planning weddings throughout New Jersey and New York, Kristen built the company around the level of organization, access, and ownership she would expect as a client herself. Today, she leads the vision behind Well-Dressed Events alongside a dedicated team of planners and event professionals.
