Hey y'all, I'm McKenna (she/they)! Born & raised in Kentucky, I started my artistic career as a ballet dancer, but as my curiosity for the arts grew, I started to look in every direction, picking up design, photography, and film. My work conjures a sense of sophisticated play while making the client feel like their most confident & authentic selves. Now that I'm an official New Yorker of 11 years, I’m achieving my dreams in the city I always knew I’d end up in: performing (when I can) and creating art. In my spare time, I enjoy bothering my cats Bebe & Fred, taking in a drag show, & lifting up my artist friends in any way I can.

    Incredible Queer Wedding Photographer

    Hiring McKenna was easily the best decision we made about our wedding besides the decision to marry each other. When you’re planning your wedding, you are inundated with endless ads from vendors, opinions from everyone in your life with a mouth, and an overwhelming anxiety of just wanting to get it right. If you are a queer couple, this is especially true, and you’ll spend hours and hours trying to find a photographer who will capture your experience. From the start, McKenna made us feel safe, comfortable, and just like ourselves. On your wedding day, everyone will make you feel all kind of overwhelmed, and it was lovely to have a down to earth person to help keep us in the moment. She thought of things we didn’t think of, kept pacing right, and could read the mood before we could. Our photos are also some of my favorite pictures ever taken of us, and those are just the previews! I cannot wait to get the remaining album. I will love and cherish these for the rest of my life. I will be recommending McKenna to anyone and everyone.

    Simply Perfect

    Okay, I’m a little overdue in writing this—as in, my first anniversary was yesterday. But McKenna is such an extraordinary photographer that I’m still thinking about our experience a year later! I first met McKenna when my wife hired them to shoot our proposal. I was instantly wowed by the composition and the editing of her photos, and more important how well she captured our joy and love in that moment. After receiving our photos, we immediately knew MCP Photo would be our wedding photographer. Booking McKenna was easily one of our best vendor choices. Leading up to the big day, there was clear communication about logistics, our preferences, and any information McKenna would need from us. On the day itself, McKenna was a source of calm and confidence amidst all the moving parts of the event. Their warm personality put us at ease, which made a huge difference in how well the photos came out. We are not the most natural in front of the camera, and we were nervous about whether we would look awkward, but McKenna’s direction led to photos that looked organic and beautiful. In fact, some of our favorite photos are the ones where they posed us. On top of that, I can’t say enough about McKenna’s skill for maneuvering through a complex event. She was always on top of her shot list, and made the wedding party comfortable with her kind and encouraging attitude, but was also firm with other vendors when she needed to be. My family even commented on how expertly McKenna was running the photos. They have a particularly great eye for candids and detail shots, and I was amazed by how many angles and moments they were able to capture as a solo shooter. McKenna was also adamant that my wife and I worry about nothing on our wedding day, and she handled everything that came up while ensuring we heard nothing but affirmation and support from her. In the end, our photos came out beautifully, and we feel like they truly capture the joy and energy of our wedding day. I would highly recommend booking MCP Photo for your wedding, especially if you are LGBTQ or have anxiety about being in front of the camera. McKenna is immensely talented and a true professional!

    Compassionate and perfection

    From our first conversation with MCP Photo, we knew we had found the right fit for our wedding day. McKenna was organized and responsive throughout the planning process, quickly adapting to our vision and creating a detailed shot list to make sure we didn't miss a moment. They scouted our venue ahead of time to find the best spots for photos and built out a schedule that kept everyone on track without feeling rushed. On the day of, McKenna was attentive to the little thing, correcting our posture, positioning us just right, and making sure all our posed shots were captured perfectly. Our guests couldn't stop talking about how charming and wonderful McKenna was to be around. We can't wait to see the full gallery and relive every second of our special day!

    Run, don’t walk to MCP Photo

    McKenna was such a pleasure to work with throughout the entire process! She was very clear on pricing and prompt on communication the entire time. She was extremely professional and went the extra mile. Our wedding was on a moving boat and she captured beautiful shots with ease. She made us all feel super comfortable and captured both posed and candid shots. There’s no question, if I need a photographer in the future, I would immediately contact McKenna!

Typically, couples book me about a year before their wedding date. I encourage you to reach out as soon as possible about my availability, even if you’re planning on a shorter time frame. I've made it work with three weeks to go, but the earlier we connect, the more time we have to plan and get to know one another.
A very common question! I don't include exact numbers in my deliverables, but I promise you, you are getting ALL of the good ones! When I go through all the photos I take of the day, I take out anything out of focus (in a bad way), eyes blinking, or bad exposures. You will get everything else!
I do! Just let me know if your venue requires a certificate of liability, and I’ll send that over to them.
A little sneak peek of your special day will arrive 3-5 days after your wedding (typically about 25 photos that summarize the highlights, and so you can share right away). The full gallery takes 4-6 weeks to get back to you. This is pretty standard across wedding photographers.
Showing up & shooting your wedding day is only half of what you're paying me for! The other half is removing unflattering photos (blinks, misfires, duplicates), editing all the best images, and looking back over everything to make sure it's all perfect before delivering a gallery that tells the story of your wedding day from start to finish. Nothing worth seeing by you will be excluded, I promise!
