Founded in 2018, Firecracker Floral Design specializes in floral and botanical event styling in the greater New York City area. With an emphasis on locally sourced material and seasonally available flowers, Firecracker Floral Design's sustainably driven wedding and event arrangement styling is rooted in a passion for the natural world of plants and flora. Each client is unique, and Firecracker Floral strives to work closely with couples in the interest of best expressing the singularity of their event. Together, we develop fully customized tablescapes, personal florals, and space decor that is meaningful.

My design aesthetic is the product of an education in visual arts and work experience in floral design and urban landscaping. There is something sentimental in celebrating life's big moments with living materials. And, with an eye towards the future, whenever possible Firecracker Floral's arrangements incorporate live plants. All plants are sourced from Long Island based nurseries and growers. When using cut blooms and the design allows, I incorporate seasonal flowers that are locally available at farmers markets, grown by me, and foraged.

    Working with Kendra was amazing! During an incredibly stressful time, she worked with our budget and needs effortlessly. She ensured we had gorgeous plants and flowers on the table & arch. If I ever had to plan a wedding again, I would hire her!

    We worked with Kendra for our wedding flowers, and she has an incredible knack for understanding what you want things to look like (is she a mind reader??), and executing on it flawlessly. We gave her a very difficult prompt (South Carolina meets Japan) and she nailed it!!! We were so happy with the flowers, and so many people commented that everything looked so wonderful. I know nothing about flowers and had a hard time even telling her what I was looking for, but Kendra made it EASY. I was shocked at how easy the whole process was, yet I felt at every stage that I could trust her. I can't recommend Kendra or Firecracker enough.

    Kendra made absolutely beautiful flower arrangements - and so much more, from living plants and mosses to candles to an entire chuppah. We got so many comments about how beautiful it was and how perfectly it fit in with our event as a whole. Kendra is great to work with - really nice, and willing to make changes to realize the ideas we had while coming up with great ideas we wouldn't have thought of. It's also very easy to talk to her about price considerations without feeling awkward, and she cares about accommodating the budget. Definitely recommend hiring her!

    I worked with Kendra for my wedding in Brooklyn in May of 2022 and I could not love her more. When I started to plan my wedding, I had very specific aesthetic in mind (I LOVE flowers in general and it was one of the more important parts of my wedding) but was not sure that I would be able to find someone who could make it come to life. The last thing I wanted was a generic round bouquet and cliche table pieces with a lot of roses. I looked at a lot of florists that service NYC weddings and was so disappointed by the styles or the price range. However, when I saw what Kendra can do for my wedding, I immediately knew that I found my person. She uses greeneries and textures such as eucalyptus and moss to make everything so delicate and natural. I loved all the flowers she used for demo but I had specific flowers in mind that I wanted for my wedding and Kendra made sure I got all of them in my bouquet and the table pieces. One of the coolest things she did was using live plants for the alter! I always felt terrible throwing away so many flowers after one wedding and Kendra's way of making such a romantic arch while not wasting a lot of flowers was perfect for my taste. And I was so grateful when she let some of my guests even bring the table pieces home!! My wedding guests sent me photos of the flowers and moss prospering in their house days after my wedding. When I was planning the wedding with her, she met with me and my husband multiple times to discuss the details and she made sure she understood exactly what I wanted. The way she digested and presented the ideas I pitched to her was amazing! On top of that, she was so organized and communicative. I am a very anxious person (though Kendra assured me multiple times that I'm not that bad lol) who loves to keep things planned and organized. If it weren't for her, I would have been a lot more stressed about how the whole aesthetic would tie in together. However, she was so on top of my wedding planning and vision that I decided to ask her to be my day-of coordinator! I knew that I would be very stressed on my wedding day and Kendra already knew the details of my wedding that it made sense. For a small additional charge, she took on the role and it was one of the best decisions I made. It rained unexpectedly on my wedding day with flash flood warning which threw everyone for a panic. Kendra was on top of everything and made sure my guests could dry themselves and helped me delay the ceremony by 20minutes so everyone could arrive and be settled. I honestly am not sure what my wedding would have looked like without her. I still keep in touch with her just to update her on my life and I feel so blessed to have had a florist who totally understood me and my wedding vision. Highly recommend for anyone who loves delicate, beautiful and unique flower arrangements or anyone who feels working with vendors with amazing personalities is a key to successful wedding.
