“We recently had our wedding at The Barn at Black Walnut Farm, and it was extraordinary. From the moment we first toured the venue, we knew it was the perfect place for us. Jim and Sarah have poured so much heart and craftsmanship into restoring this historic barn, preserving its rustic charm while modernizing it in all the right places.

The property itself is breathtaking, with thoughtfully designed spaces that make you feel completely immersed in nature. The rose garden and front yard provided great photo opportunities, not just for us but for all our guests.
Our ceremony in the forest site was an absolute dream. The setting created a truly magical, intimate atmosphere. It was the most picturesque backdrop for such a meaningful moment, and we can’t imagine having said our vows anywhere else.
The true gem of the property, however, is the historic house. Staying in this house was an unforgettable experience, and my family is already looking forward to returning for years to come.
The Barn at Black Walnut Farm is more than just a venue—it’s an experience and a place where memories are made. Jim and Sarah are not just venue owners; they are passionate, thoughtful hosts who truly care about every couple’s special day. We feel so honored to have celebrated our wedding here and cannot recommend it highly enough.”

Why you'll love this venue

  • Space for a large guest list
  • Has onsite accommodations
  • Has a fun and festive vibe

Venue considerations

  • Does not have a dance floor
  • Venue feels large for events with small guest lists
  • No venue-provided food services
“The Outlier Inn is truly one-of-a-kind, offering so much more than your typical wedding venue. From the start, we knew it was something special. One of our favorite aspects was being able to bring all of our loved ones together in one place for the entire weekend, creating a unique experience where our family and friends were “trapped” in the best way—celebrating and bonding without distractions. If you’re someone who loves to party under the stars, and you enjoy envisioning and creating fun, personalized spaces, this is the venue for you. The property itself is a hidden gem, full of surprises at every turn. There’s so much to explore, from the charming tiny houses scattered throughout, to the inviting homemade hot tub and peaceful sauna, to the quirky hidden thrift shop/barn. We held our ceremony in the newly added amphitheater nestled in the woods—an intimate space surrounded by towering trees, creating a perfect natural backdrop for our vows. We were lucky with beautiful September weather, and the sound of our friends laughing and exploring the grounds will forever be a cherished memory. Josh, the owner of The Outlier, truly made the entire experience unforgettable. From the moment we met him, we knew this was “our” place. He is warm, welcoming, and incredibly accommodating. During our first tour of the property, Josh even let us bottle-feed his adorable baby goat, “Frip”—a moment that will forever hold a special place in our hearts. Leading up to the wedding, Josh was always available to offer guidance and advice, and throughout the weekend, his calm presence was a steady source of reassurance. Whether he was setting up bonfires, handling speakers and microphones, or just checking in on us, Josh ensured everything ran smoothly, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in every moment of our celebration. The only downside to having our wedding at The Outlier Inn is that we almost want to keep it a secret—it’s so magical, we’d love to keep it all to ourselves! But in all honesty, The Outlier Inn is an extraordinary venue, and we can’t imagine getting married anywhere else. Thank you, Josh, for making our weekend so unforgettable!”

“We recently held our daughters wedding in the NY Catskills, during the 2025 Fall Foliage season. Our daughter created a cohesive vision that would be embedded throughout all of the wedding events (Rehearsal Dinner; Welcome Party; Wedding Day Ceremony & Reception; After Party and finally the Farewell Brunch). Her goal was to strike that unique vibe and ensure that every guest walked away from the weekend with a long lasting memory that differentiated the experience from most traditional weddings. Coordinating a wedding in the Catskills takes a lot of planning and coordination to deliver that unique experience for guests traveling from all over the country, especially when the attention for detail is a priority. One of the best decisions we made, was to choose French Woods Farmhouse, to be the venue to start & end our wedding weekend. French Woods Farmhouse was the venue for our Welcome Party as well as for our Farewell Brunch. The Welcome Party & Farewell Brunch at French Woods Farmhouse, exceeded our expectations in kicking off the wedding weekend & wrapping it up. The property & layout was so conducive for our Welcome Party & Farewell Brunch goals, in getting our guests quickly immersed into a Catskills Wedding vibe. Some of the featured highlights included: - Full Cocktail Bar - Live Music - Curated Catered Food with Service - Random Gathering Spots for Mingling, Eating & Drinking (including tables, seating, as well as space within their newly renovated barn) - Spontaneous Lighting Elements (on driveway, pond, trees) - Continuous Video Clips, projected on to the side of the barn - Massive Fire Pits for chilling & watching the stars (this was a HUGE hit) And all showcased on a meticulously manicured property that provided our guests with epic views of clear skies, rolling hills, foliage changing landscapes & ponds, all in a secluded space from the rest of the world! All of this would not be possible without the continuous orchestration with the owners of French Woods Farmhouse (Bruce & Denise). Throughout the entire planning process, they were in constant contact with us, as well as coordinating several visits to fine tune all of the details including reviewing various property visuals, layouts & configurations. (They literally created backup layouts as well, in the event of bad weather) They also are well connected in the area, in terms of services, rentals & activities, so when it came time to finalize the many details, they made it SO easy & frictionless. It was incredibly helpful to have their help in coordinating various aspects (eg., rentals, catering, servers, restroom trailers, cleanup crews, parking). While we leveraged French Woods Farmhouse for the Welcome Party & Farewell Brunch, in hindsight we should have also considered the Rehearsal Dinner and After Party events at this venue as well! The space is very dynamic to setup differently for each event scenario. FYI… We also happen to rent the main house for 8 of us to stay for the entire weekend. The attention to detail shown throughout the entire property is impeccable & impressive. The house is WELL stocked with all your needs, anticipating all scenarios & questions one would encounter while staying at their gorgeous home & property. (We also loved the farmhouse décor) Overall cleanliness… the entire house was extremely clean upon stepping in on our first day. Its clear that they prioritize this, as if they were staying themselves.”

“Melanie, the Stonewall Estate team, and the venue itself were an absolute DREAM. We first toured Stonewall in the middle of January, and even covered in snow, we immediately knew there was something special about this place. Coming back to get married in peak fall foliage on 9/26 was exactly how we had pictured it. We were the first of our friend group to get married, so we didn’t have much precedent for how any of this was supposed to work. From the beginning, Melanie made the entire process feel seamless. She was incredibly communicative and gave us so much guidance along the way, from vendor and local recommendations to all the little pro tips you don’t even know you need. We trusted her taste and point of view 100%, and whenever we needed advice, she was the first person we wanted to ask. Throughout planning, she kept us on track, led an incredibly helpful 45-day walkthrough, helped build out our timeline, lineup and floor plan, and made sure all of our vendors had everything they needed heading into the weekend. Stonewall also has an amazing decor catalog with so much already available on-site, which made bringing our vision together so easy. When the weekend arrived, Melanie led our rehearsal beautifully, and she and her team were such a calm, supportive presence throughout the wedding day. If there were any issues happening behind the scenes, we certainly didn’t know about them because her team was always one step ahead. We had to make the call to move our ceremony indoors because of possible rain, and they made it PERFECT. We genuinely would not have changed a thing. They then completely transformed the space for the reception, to the point that guests told us they didn’t even realize they were sitting in the same room! And the property itself... let me tell you there truly wasn’t a bad view anywhere. Our guests could not stop talking about the scenery and how beautiful and unique the venue was. Having the estate house and cottage, barn, ceremony, reception and bonfire all on one property made the whole experience so special. Our wedding party could get ready on-site, celebrate all night, and simply walk back up the hill to the house afterward. Every detail was so thoughtfully handled, from the beautiful barn and venue-owned bar to the s’mores bonfire at the end of the night. The Stonewall bartenders were also SO kind and wonderful to our guests, and we heard so many compliments about them throughout the night. We have gotten multiple messages from guests telling us this was the best wedding they have ever been to, and it never could have reached the level it did without Melanie and the Stonewall Estate team. They truly have something magical going on up there, and we feel so lucky we got to have our wedding at Stonewall. If you’re dreaming of the perfect mountainscape wedding, this is your spot. A all around!!! XOXO, Lauren & Elijah”

“As the groom, I couldn’t have imagined a more perfect place to celebrate our wedding than Sylvan Ridge Farm. We had an amazing time from start to finish. The scenery around the venue is absolutely breathtaking and made for incredible photos and unforgettable moments throughout the day. The two houses on the property were fantastic and really added to the experience. The larger house was perfect for the bridesmaids to stay and get ready, while the smaller house provided a private and cozy space for my wife and me to enjoy together. Having those options right on site made everything so convenient and stress-free. Our coordinator, Alyssa, was absolutely phenomenal. She kept everything running smoothly with a well-organized schedule and made sure everyone stayed on track throughout the day. Thanks to her, we were able to fully enjoy each moment without any added stress. The barn itself is stunning — the lighting and overall atmosphere created such a warm, inviting setting for our reception. Our guests couldn’t stop complimenting the venue and how beautiful everything looked. Everything about Sylvan Ridge helped make our wedding weekend truly special. I would highly recommend this venue — and Alyssa — to any couple looking for a magical and unforgettable place to celebrate.”

“We cannot express enough how much we absolutely loved our experience at this venue. From the moment we first walked in, we knew it was the perfect fit for us—not just as a couple, but for our entire family. It felt like “us” in every way, and that feeling carried through our entire wedding day. A huge part of our relief and confidence came from working with Tricia and Marty. From day one, they made everything feel effortless. Tricia, especially, was like having a built-in, experienced professional right by our side—part planner, part partner, and part friend. Her advice, suggestions, and calming presence were invaluable. We always felt supported, understood, and in the best hands possible. Our guests are still raving about the venue, the experience and the bonfire! We received so many compliments on the atmosphere, the beauty of the space, and the seamless flow of the day. Everywhere we turned, someone was telling us how magical everything felt—and we couldn’t agree more. The entire experience was everything we hoped for and so much more. We will forever look back with gratitude and the fondest memories of a day that was truly perfect. This venue, and the people who run it, gave us the best start to our married life, and we couldn’t be more thankful!”

From the ceremony to the sunset and evening by the fireplace, it was magical. I cannot recommend Kismet House enough to any couple looking for a perfect wedding venue.”

Welcome to Pleasantly Devine Stables. We're dreamers, but even in our wildest dreams, we never expected to own a farm and host a special event venue. We purchased the 104-acre farm property in 2016, as a place to begin our future and pursue our passion and love of farming. Since purchasing the farm, several guests found our property to be so serene, fell in love with its natural beauty, and persuaded us to open our family farm for others to experience. We are a family that genuinely cares about you and the details of your big day, and a venue that will consistently go above and beyond. We believe firmly you aren't a "number" or a "package". We host celebrations because we love sharing our farm with couples and families who love it too. At Pleasantly Devine Stables, we put great emphasis on FAMILY: our family, your family, and the greater family of the Hudson Valley.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Both indoor and outdoor options

“My wife and I came to them on short notice and with a lot of stress due to the time/money expenses of planning the big day. Renee was unfailingly kind, endlessly patient and always upbeat. Putting it simply, the crew at Adena are wonderful people who are very good at their job. The day itself went off without a single hiccup. Every typical issue that we encountered - such as delays on our part, or things I forgot- was handled before I even fully aware of it. They did their jobs calmly and joyfully, and helped reassure my anxious wife (and my surprisingly anxious self). The location is absolutely beautiful, maintained expertly and decorated perfectly. Our reception was elegant and rustic, with clear views of the blue sky outside making a very pretty backdrop to celebration. The Wooded Cathedral was where we had our reception, and I highly recommend it to anyone who’s dreamed of an outdoor wedding in the country. My wife and I are so happy that we switched venues to Adena. We’re thrilled that they’ve left us with these memories, and we are so happy to call the team at Adena friends. Thank you guys for helping us start a marriage on the highest possible note.”

“Please read—our experience was nothing short of amazing! We got married at Liberty View Farm this past Saturday, and The Wedding Foundry made our day absolutely unforgettable. Billiam and Erica truly have a gift and such a special thing going. Our day ran seamlessly, and we couldn’t have been happier. From a touching ceremony that had our guests in tears, to AMAZING food that people are still talking about (definitely not your typical “wedding food”), to the abundance of gorgeous florals that Ivan brought to life even more beautifully than I dreamed—it was all perfection. Cathy went above and beyond setting up our personal décor exactly how I envisioned and created a tablescape that looked like it came straight out of a fairytale. The planning process was also so smooth—they made it easy to choose menus, drinks, and all the little details, and they were always quick to respond to any questions, which gave us so much peace of mind. We also loved how this is such an “all-inclusive” venue, which relieved so much of the stress of finding vendors. You can tell everyone they use works together all the time, which makes the whole experience seamless. For anything not included, Billiam provided excellent recommendations (music, Airbnbs, hair & makeup), which made everything so easy. Throughout it all, Erica and Billiam were patient, reassuring, and accommodating—even when I asked to change our ceremony spot last minute! They welcomed me back to pick a new space and made me feel completely confident. I was also nervous about florals matching with my bridesmaids’ dresses and family colors, and they kept promising me I would love it. They were right—it was beyond perfect. This is the most unique, special farm and venue I’ve ever seen, and it felt exactly like “us.” The entire team—Erica, Billiam, Ivan, Cathy, and everyone involved—are so talented, kind, and detail-oriented. They truly care about making each wedding magical, and it shows in every moment. We could not have asked for more, and we will forever be grateful for the memories they created for us.”

“My now-husband and I will never be over our wedding at Blooming Hill Farm. It will be hard to condense all the gushing I want to do into a succinct review, but I'll try. I remembered seeing pics of the farm and thinking it looked cool, but visiting in person last August was a gamechanger. It's so magical in person - beautiful blooms everywhere, the little babbling brook, the dreamy cocktail barn, the general views. My partner, who was in London at the time, had joined via FaceTime and even over the phone he knew immediately after that it was the one. We knew we wanted to get married when the farm was exactly as we saw it, so did our wedding toward the end of August. We lucked out with absolutely beautiful weather and it made for an unforgettable day. In addition to loving on the space ('gorgeous' was used a lot), our guests couldn't stop raving about the food (no surprises here, BHF is a working farm with a popular farm-to-table restaurant). Without a doubt, the best wedding food we've ever had. The tasting was a highlight :) In addition to all of this, rather than having to separately source and pay a kajillion dollars for all of the linens, tables, etc, this is all included and BHF works with you to execute your vision to a T. The reception tent was sneakily one of the most beautiful parts of our wedding day - I couldn't stop ogling everything. Special shoutout to Nadine, BHF's florist who worked with our non-existent knowledge of flowers and delivered an absolute dream setting. Finally, I've fully been burying the lead because on top of all this, the ultimate perk of doing your wedding at Blooming Hill Farm is you get to work with a coordinator like our girl Kate - who we are still not ready to say goodbye to. While we experienced light concern from a few folks over not hiring a planner, with Kate we never needed one. From the venue tour to detailed planning sessions to literally cueing us all down the aisle, she held our hand every step of the way and managed to be equally warm and fun while supremely on top of her sh*t (and ensuring we were on top of ours). She overdelivered in the way a stereotypically Type A wedding planner would, while managing to be...chill?! It truly felt like working with a friend. (WE LOVE YOU, KATE, PLEASE CALL US WHEN YOU'RE IN BROOKLYN?!?) The rest of the staff were also so notably warm, wonderful and on point as well. Truly, if there was a way to Black Mirror ourselves and relive this day over and over, we definitely would. Please have your wedding here, ok?”

“There are no words that I could possibly say that could pinpoint how I feel about Kerri and the staff at FVM. When your daughter gets engaged to the love of her life, you immediately want the absolute most perfect wedding day for her and you want all her wedding dreams to come true. The first time I met Kerri I had an instant feeling of this is the place, and this is the person to make it all come true. My daughter had a vision of what she wanted her day to look like, and Kerri made it and more happen! The venue is unbelievably gorgeous. The staff is beyond compare and the food was top-notch delicious! I will forever be grateful to everyone at Fortune Valley Manor who helped make my daughter and son-in-law‘s day a memory that will last a lifetime. Kerri, you are absolutely incredible at what you do! If I could give 1 million stars to this review, I would! Five stars just does not seem to be enough! The entire staff, especially Mary the manager and Matt the bartender went over and above to make sure our reception went well. Everyone enjoyed the beautiful grounds and venue space. “I cannot say enough good things about our experience here. From Min and Morten, to all the advisors that helped us, to all the staff who worked the venue for set up, the cooks, the servers, the bartenders, and not to mention how insanely good the food was - every single aspect of this place and the people there were truly magnificent. I was excited to marry the love of my life, sure, but after 16 years together I really viewed this as just a big party to celebrate with all the people in our lives. I expected and welcomed that view. To say it exceeded expectations is overwhelmingly unfair - it completely blew my mind how amazing the whole day was, honestly the whole weekend since there was also the rehearsal and breakfast the morning after, and I cannot express how grateful I am for how the whole experience turned out. I know I had loved the venue itself when we first visited, and that I thought the food was absolutely amazing during the food tasting, but it ended up being even more gorgeous on the day and the food for 150 people was still all so delicious that not one guest didn't mention at least one of the apps/ entree throughout the night and following day. One of my brides people who is quite the foodie snob keeps mentioning how juicy the chicken was. Seriously though, the food was just phenomenal. I never like cakes at weddings (they're always beautiful but don't taste good) and had planned on getting cake pops for my wedding, but at the food tasting I was just shocked at how amazing it was that I had to have that cake for the day. I would recommend this venue, and this staff, so whole heartedly. If any of the staff read this review, thank you all for making our special day one that will forever be a heartwarming memory.”
