“From our first meeting with Meaghan and Evan, we clicked right away on a friend level, and knew they were the right photographers to capture the day in a way that felt authentic, joyful, and totally us—expansive relationship lore and inside jokes included!
My partner and I have been together for a long time before getting married, and didn’t want an over-produced ceremony or ritual that we didn’t really identify with to define our relationship, or to put so much pressure on a single day and forget to enjoy it. Working with Meaghan made the process of planning our day so seamless. She helped us plan a timeline and gave us a sense of how long different parts of the day would take, but there was still room for spontaneity. I was even late for the ceremony and stressing until I got out of my car and Meaghan was a calm, reassuring presence, directing me where to go for the first-look, but also giving me the option to choose another spot if I wanted. All day, we never felt rushed or like we couldn’t take a beat to recenter anytime we needed it.
The photos couldn’t have represented the mood of the day, and our personalities, any better. All the little details we talked about ahead of time, or that just came up organically during the day (like a cute frog in the pond at the ceremony venue!) were part of the gallery, and incorporated so organically in the background of the photos showing our friends and families having fun together. For our “reception” after-party, our main goal was to show our out-of-town friends and family a good time in our neighborhood in Providence at Kimi’s, and it’s clear from the photos that we succeeded! It was so fun to relive the day through the photos and see scenes from the night that we missed or almost forgot about.
Not to mention, the whole day was just beautifully shot, both in film and digital photos. We aren’t the type of people to have lots of pictures of us hanging on the wall, but these feel worthy of being printed and framed! Meaghan and Evan are true artists. We picked a ceremony venue (the pollinator garden at the Audubon Center in Bristol) that we love for its scenery, and each photo captures the understated natural beauty of the garden, boardwalk path, and meadow with thoughtful composition and timing, from the handful of posed group shots to the more in-the-moment candid ones. Between the ceremony and the party, we snuck away to take a walk along the boardwalk–where we often go to see the ospreys and other wildlife–which produced some of my favorite photos (totally relaxed and gorgeous), and it was one of the most memorable parts of the day because we could pause and take it all in–and spend time with Meaghan and Evan!
We were also so glad we sprung for the Instax guest book package! Our guests filled the book with instant photos and doodles–it was so fun to look through it the next morning, and now we have the camera to keep, so we can keep taking silly pics at home and bring it on vacation! Meaghan picked out the cutest stickers to go with it, too.”
