Hi, I’m Nicole (she/her) - a Rhode Island-based wedding photographer. I have more than a decade of experience shooting weddings of all kinds - and today, I work collaboratively with my couples to create photos that evoke how their day felt. Photos of honest and emotional interactions; small details that hold weight and meaning; effortless portraits that capture the feel of the surrounding space or landscape. The result is a narrative visual story of enduring human connections, and a chronicle of emotional moments that they can revisit time and time again.

Before your day, I get to know you both and learn what matters to you. I customize packages for each of my couples, and these often include an engagement session to build both your trust in me and my understanding of you as a couple. I’ve mastered the ability to create a comfortable experience for those in front of my camera. When your day comes, by guiding - not posing - and acting as an engaged observer, I capture the energy and feel of the moment - without disrupting it. I also keep a pulse on what you might need at any point so you can experience your day fully.

    Best Decision!

    Nicole was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. From the very beginning, she was incredibly communicative, responsive, and easy to work with. On the wedding day, she was so much more than a photographer. She helped keep everything running smoothly, learned everyone's names, and was incredibly kind to our families and wedding party. She was constantly checking in on us and went above and beyond to make sure everything stayed on track and stress-free. Her positive energy, professionalism, and genuine care made such a difference.     Amazing !!!

    Nicole was an amazing person and voice to have in my corner all day. She was complimented by both sides of our family for her organization and kindness. I appreciated her leading me through the day and getting all the fun shots without making my wedding a photo shoot and instead really captures the emotions and moments throughout. I would highly recommend Nicole to any of my friends and appreciated all the work and timeliness she put in throughout our planning process and throughout our wedding day.     Amazing!

    Nicole was exceptional, and I cannot recommend her enough. She went above and beyond on our wedding day and took the time to know all of our family members and bridal party by name. She even helped me get into my dress and assisted my bridal party with their bow ties! We are obsessed with our photos—her talent is truly phenomenal.

    Nicole is amazing

    I am so glad we chose to work with Nicole of Nicole Marcelle Photography. She captured absolutely stunning photos of our small wedding in Providence, and we are still blown away by how beautifully she documented the day. Nicole was professional, funny, and incredibly easy to work with. She offered so much helpful guidance and had a great eye for posing and locations, which made us feel really comfortable and at ease. One of the biggest highlights was how seamlessly she took charge when needed—corralling guests for group photos and keeping everything moving without ever feeling rushed. It allowed us to relax and truly enjoy the moment. We chose Nicole because we were impressed with her portfolio and knew she had photographed at our venue, the Providence Athenaeum, before. Her familiarity with the space showed in every shot; she captured the magic, atmosphere, and little details of the place perfectly. She also made sure my red wedding dress truly POPPED in the photos. Absolutely! I send links to a few full wedding galleries when I email over your personalized quote.
A LOT. I shoot the entire time I am with you, and I typically deliver about 75-100 images per hour of shooting, depending on the flow of the day and activities.
I have more than 15 years of experience, and at this point, I easily adapt to any wedding weather situation! (In fact, some of my favorite photos have happened when things don’t go as planned.) 
I’m primarily a true–to-life, documentary photographer - which just means that I prefer to tell a story and capture real moments and emotion. I find that in 5​ and 10​ years (yes, I've been doing this a LONG time), my couples care less about staged, traditional wedding photos and more about remembering how their day felt, so I make that my priority.
Simply put, the photos I take are true-to-life and stand the test of time. They reflect how it actually felt to be there. I shoot primarily natural and available light because it’s beautiful, quick, and unobtrusive - with the exception of your reception and/or dark times and spaces. Aesthetically, I like accurate exposures and skin tones - and I prefer uncluttered compositions - even while I use a documentary and storytelling approach to the day.
Most of my photos are shot on digital cameras, but I do offer a 35mm film add-on for those who want hybrid coverage. Let’s chat if you think you’d like to include film as well as digital photography in your package.
