She has a true talent for finding the beauty in every moment and capturing it. 2) She has a knack for making getting your picture taken not feel awkward, something we were very afraid about as people who don't often find themselves in front of a camera. 3) She has a wonderful team of people behind her. “We hired Makena to shoot our engagement photos and our wedding phots. Our engagement session was great and Makena's energy was amazing - she was so fun and made the experience easy! We loved the photos and it made us so excited for the wedding day. Leading up to the wedding, her communication was perfect - reached out frequently, and any time we had a question she answered immediately. She created a timeline which was beyond helpful because one of my top stressors was making sure we were on time, not rushed, and got everything in before sunset [December wedding calls for a 4:15pm sunset unfortunately!!]. “Don’t hesitate to book with Sheena! Not only a great photographer but an amazing person as well. Ever since booking with Sheena for our wedding over a year out she was consistently in communication with us to prep for the big day as well as answering any questions I had about the logistics of the day leading up to it. The day of the wedding I was stressed with the timing of things and she kept me calm and assured that it would all be okay and made it work whenever we were cutting it close with time. I really appreciated the energy she had when I was stressing. Andrea also accompanied Sheena and was just as great. I definitely recommend booking Sheena’s 2nd shooter too because it’s a life saver when you’re tight on time and want to maintain your intended wedding schedule. Both women were super on top of getting all the shots I wanted and even jumped in to help outside of their photographer duties which was much appreciated. When my venue hadn’t lit all my candles minutes before cocktail hour they immediately started helping light candles and when my venue didn’t have a plate and silverware at our cake cutting table they sprinted to find some. Couldn’t be more grateful to have them there on our big day. When we had our engagement shoot with Sheena we were blown away by how amazing the pictures turned out and how she captured the sunset. I had a vision in mind and she made it come to life. “Ari was great to work with! He was communicative, professional and always thinking of the details. There were options to fit our budget as well. Mark was our photographer and WOW HOLY COW! He was fun to work with and had this innate ability to bring out the best in everyone when capturing all the special moments. Then we received our digital photos, and they were absolutely spectacular! We were so impressed. Mark caught all moments with our family, friends and us, the bride and groom, that were loving, happy, beautiful, comedic, unexpected, reflective... We are in awe with all the shots and the quality. They are amazing. Ari also worked with us to do some minor editing on a few photos and organize them into a drop site. Definitely recommend Ari and Mark 100%!”

She did a great job understanding what we were looking for, which was mostly documentary style photography of the ceremony, and family portraits afterwards. High winds and hot temps and very bright overhead sunlight, and yet our pictures are stunning!! Everyone looks so good, and she captured our happiness perfectly.
